Loved the place, the people and the food. The hotel has a great number of the most beautiful trails with decks that have the most amazing views. The staff is super friendly and fun. The rooms are made with love. I did a week of vision quest there, best place for that. They do teach about permaculture, I did not do it but it sounded really amazing. Oh and the pizza , yum yum

We absolutely LOVED staying here. The staff is genuinely friendly, the view is spectacular, and our room was perfectly comfortable. My partner and I stayed for 4 days and we didn't want to leave. The owner of the property, Jonah, is a really great guy who has made the property into an environmentally friendly, permaculture-based place with farm-to-table food, solar energy and rainwater plumbing. The rooms are comfortable, spacious, and quiet, and the bathrooms are particularly nice and well-designed. The property has nearly 5km of hiking trails that feature views of the mountains, waterfalls, beautiful birds, amazing insects, and many stunning ficus trees. I hiked the trails every day and I rarely saw other people there. It was perfect solitude and oneness with nature. The price includes a delicious breakfast in the morning where you are given three options to choose from plus fruit, juice, and coffee. This was definitely the best hotel breakfast we had during our entire visit in Costa Rica. The restaurant is open in the afternoon and at night and features healthy food - mostly pulled directly from their property - at a fair price. We ate at the restaurant every day and never had a meal anywhere else in Monteverde because it was so good. Everyone on the property is open-minded and they welcome all people. It's LGBTQ friendly plus it's perfect for families, especially the large open field overlooking the mountains and ocean where children can run freely. We didn't have a car and one of the sweet staff members arranged taxi service for us every day. Our stay here was a highlight of our stay and we hope to return one day.

This place is incredible! The grounds are absolutely amazing and it was our first eco-lodge experience and it didn't disappoint. The staff were kind and helpful! The restaurant was good but you will wait and hour for food and they messed up our order all three times we ate there. That being said, we'd stay there again just for the location and grounds! Totally worth it!

This place is a gem. Incredible views, super friendly staff (shot out to Eric, Cristian, Angelica, Jonah, Susanna, and all of the other housekeeping and waitstaff that make this place amazing!). The walking trails are breathtaking and can be done solo (I am 6 months pregnant and managed) -- I saw some cool birds and critters. I did not sign up for the night walk, but I did do the Permaculture tour and HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT! It's a walking tour of the campus to learn about all of the cool practices that are regenerative and sustainable. It gave me a whole new appreciation for this hotel and inspired me to go home and implement parts of the permaculture principles within my own living space! This hotel property is very tranquil and the food is EXCELLENT. Would highly recommend staying here.

We spent 3 nights here and it was super. The setting can’t be beat with views of the Gulf of Nicoya and the rainforest all around you. The care of the surrounding environment is obvious. Everyone on the staff (Lissette, Jose, Jonah the owner, Magla and the rest) were so helpful and kind. The accommodations were simple and comfortable. The paths to enjoy the forest and the gardens were just outside our rooms. We totally enjoyed the experience and would love to try it again…
