Our room was very nice and clean. There is no AC but you are able to open the windows and it was always a good/cool temperature at night. AC is not needed. The breakfast that is included in the morning is also very good as well. The owner is very passionate about his place and you can tell when you speak to him. Very intelligent and informative. We paid extra for the permaculture tour and I highly recommend it. We toured Monteverde Cloud Forest, but honestly the trails at the hotel nature reserve are better in my opinion... and included with your stay. It has one of the MOST beautiful lookout points that you do not want to miss. The only cons that I had: There is a coffee pot in the room, but no coffee. So that was a little weird. Also, no bottles filled with water or a place to refill your bottles of water except for the sink. There is a sign in the restaurant bathroom that says do not flush toilet paper, and to hold down the handle for 5 seconds for it to fully flush. Which is fine, except I didn't see that until the 3rd day, as the sign is not in the bathroom of the hotel room. It would help if the sign was also in the hotel rooms so that the guests were informed. All in all I definitely recommend this stay.…
This property was even better than expected! The views are absolutely breathtaking and look west over the Pacific Ocean, giving you and your group fantastic views during the day and especially at night for the sunset. They have very knowledgeable staff and we were able to take part in their Night Tour which is completely worth it as we were able to spot tarantulas, birds, and snakes as well as get great information from the tour guide. They have an on-site restaurant with a wood-burning stove and a bar so you don't have to search around in the evening for a place to eat/drink. Also our rooms were in great shape - hot water / high pressure and very clean lodgings. We even had a room with a great view of the Pacific and were able to spot monkeys climbing in the trees from our room's own balcony!…
We had a wonderful stay here. All the staff were so kind and accommodating. The rooms were very nice. The owner Jonah was always on site and we really enjoyed our conversations with him. It was so nice to have breakfast included and have a restaurant on site. The pizza was delicious. The night hike was a great experience and we had a wonderful guide. It was also nice to have trails right on the property. We got engaged here so this place will always hold a special place in our heart. Can’t wait to visit again.
Fabulous Hotel located on a perfect sunset spot. Organic food, veggies grow in the hotel’s own farm, great pizza and nice drinks. The staff is very helpful and organised a tour guide for us (for a reasonable price). The construction works mentioned by other guest are almost finished and we’re not disturbing us at all.
We had a 3 weeks trip through Costa Rica and changed every other day the hotel. This one was by far the most valuable one. The entire concept of the owner is impressive. Everything is green and sustainable but at the same time young, fancy and relaxed. The room ( Junior Suite #12) was spacious and very stylish. The service Personal was really fast and very friendly. Food was great as the most came out of their own garden.
Anyone with a desire to learn about sustainable living and permaculture would benefit from a tour or stay here! The hotel and restaurant are on a beautiful property full of trails, gardens, and gorgeous vistas that are worth it by themselves. I am an American student who studied abroad in Monteverde and came out with a refreshed view of how to work, live, and enjoy the beauty of nature in a respectful way. The pizzas are to die for!
Incredible hiking trails with lots of wildlife, flora and fauna. Beautiful views and sunsets over the gulf to Nicoya. Friendly staff and good farm to table food. Eco learning opportunities with the working farm and guides. Central to the area.
We stayed only one night, but loved our time at this stunning place. While there is some construction happening to expand their restaurant and reception, it didn’t effect us as we adventured while in Monteverde. We loved their restaurant and the grounds were just stunning. Also, the rooms where great and staff were extremely friendly. The one recommendation is to improve the hot/cold water pressure as it could get too hot and then drop cold suddenly. Overall, a great experience!
The property is very nice, lots of options to hike and not too far from the town. The views are awesome, the rooms are relatively small, but clean and comfortable. Staff is very friendly. Restaurant is OK, food was always fresh. Their whole approach to sustainability is very interesting and you can tell that they really embody it. Highly recommend!
We stayed one night here but ate breakfast, lunch and dinner at the hotel because it was so delicious and fresh! It is a little out of the way (can’t really walk to town at night) but the views and nature reserve are incredibly beautiful. The room was also very clean. Highly recommend!
