We spent 3 nights at the Monteverde Inn / Valle Escondido Preserve and had an amazing experience. The lodging was clean and comfortable, the onsite restaurant was well priced and had fantastic food, and the private trail system surrounding the property was unique and very special. The owner truly cares about his property and has a grand vision for making...

We booked this thinking it would be a bit of a basic budget place at a reasonable price, but felt like we landed unexpectedly in a magical spot ! The rooms are very nice and comfortable. The inn has its own private reserve that is free to explore for people staying there (night walk extra because it involves a guide...

The accommodation is basic but very clean and perfectly adequate for our needs. We stayed in a twin room (no 5) which was conveniently located near the reception area and looks out on the lawn and pond. The staff were really friendly and helped us organise the activities we wanted to do. It was great that the hotel had its...

My family really loved the location of the Preserve/Inn and the location of our room. The Owner, Jona is super nice and very environmentally savvy. His staff is very helpful and extremely friendly. You can book all your tours with them and transportation will pick you up at the front of the property. The breakfast is very good and the...

The hotel was basic and clean. Beds could be bigger and more comfy. Breakfast ok at best. But we were won over by the amazing grounds, best views in Monteverde and stunning well kept trails. Also very impressed by permaculture garden and hammock garden.

We chose Monteverde Inn because we wanted to see the scenery and wildlife of Costa Rica, and it did not disappoint. The Inn sits on its own nature reserve and daytime access is included in the cost of the room. Nighttime guided tours are available at a discount (take one of these tours...it is worth it). The rooms are small...

Monteverde Inn is difficult to find but an excellent place to stay. The price is also right! Our room was small but comfortable (room 3). It had 2 single beds, so if you want to snuggle you should rent a room with a double bed. The restaurant served food that was cheaper and better than many meals we had in...

Lovely inn. Rooms are small but cozy, and they fit our family well. Grounds are beautiful--wonderful hikes, and DO NOT MISS the hammock gardens. The breakfast was delicious--and included. We also ate there for lunch and dinner, and the food was great, quick, and reasonably priced. Our family also did a great night hike on grounds. It's also right next...

We stayed at Monteverdi Inn for three nights. It was unfortunate that when we stayed recently there was building work going on underneath our room. The hotel were not able to move us or offer anything other than a half-apology. This made our room unusable during much of the day. The rooms was also quite small and with very few...

What a fantastic place. Our kids (ages 10 and 12) loved the food, we all loved the views and hiking the grounds and the hammock garden. Don't miss the veggie quesadilla or the night hike. Fabulous place with clean rooms and amazing outdoors.

Thank Karen S
