After staying in a hotel in La Fortuna with a view to die for, unfortunately I could not give this hotel a higher than average rating. We were in room 1, this has no view at all and a stone wall to the side with a very noisy road to the other side of the wall. The breakfast was very good and the turndown service first rate. Dinner in the restaurant was OK but expensive for what it was and limited in the options. Staff were first rate, Carol was an absolute darling and made us welcome from the moment we arrived. The trails around the hotel are nice, very easy and we saw so many birds and other wild life. The agouti reserve was a nice gentle 2 hour hike and is free to guests.

Hotel's Favourite
Wow, Senda truly made me fall in love with Monteverde. The grounds, hiking trails, staff, customer service, atmosphere, food quality, sustainable practices, the list goes on and on. The room were comfortable, beautiful, and very spacious for a family of 2 adults and 2 kids. We loved walking the grounds with the swings placed in trees, to the onsite hiking trails. Make sure to have dinner here at least once! The food is amazing! Best place in Monteverde, hands down

By the end of our stay here I couldn't wait to recommend Senda to all of our friends and family thinking of visiting Monteverde. The grounds themselves are amazing - beautiful and with trails to the Aguti Reserve, and convenient being close to both Monteverde and Santa Elena. We would often walk into town but also had the option to be picked up straight from the hotel for a number of our tours and activities. There is a restaurant on site that has exceptional meals and drinks for the nights we didn't feel like going out in the rain (as when we went the rainy season was just beginning). There are also a number of activities offered through the hotel (birdwatching tour, hikes, bonfire, movie night, yoga, etc etc) - we didn't have time to participate in much of these but wished we could! The room was also great! Bed was comfortable, room was spacious, and private porch had amazing views. Tea and drinks in the room were generous. On top of everything the staff was just so wonderful and kind - after just a couple days I could tell that nearly every staffmember had gone out of their way to learn who we were. Then when we left and found out my husband had dropped his sunglasses outside reception - they took the care to send them to the hotel we had stopped at next. This was definitely our favorite of the 4 hotels we were lucky enough to stay at in Costa Rica and will be recommending to any and all who ask!

The check in was simple and staff very friendly. The rooms are modern with great AC. The grounds are well maintained with a couple cool trails to hike with the possibility of seeing wildlife. We ate all our meals here and had fantastic food and service. Senda is very close to the Monteverde Cloudforest and Curi Cancha Reserve. They had plenty of parking available. I would recommend Senda and would stay here again if ever in the area.

We just left an amazing stay at Senda Hotel in Monteverde. The staff was extraordinarily kind, accommodating, and playful with my children. The grounds are immaculate- there are private trails, secret swings to discover, an outdoor games area, and no shortage of birds, coati, and aguti to spot. The hotel provides direct access to Aguti Reserve with both wildlife and vegetation. Hotel activities that we enjoyed included a movie night in their yoga room and a marshmallow bonfire roast with views of the sunset. I would absolutely recommend any and every traveler to book this property. When we initially arrived, we had booked 2 nights and ended up extending our stay for an additional night, that’s how much we enjoyed ourselves. Thank you, Senda Staff, for a truly memorable stay. My son requests you please say goodbye to “Hercules” the Hercules Beetle in the plants in front of Reception because he forgot to when we checked out 🙂

Cannot say enough good things about Senda! My husband and I stayed here in April and had the best time! There’s so much to do and see around the hotel. From exploring the grounds to free cocktail classes, you won’t run out of things to do! After your fill of Senda, town is only a ten minute walk from the hotel.

We (32 f/m from New York) were looking for a place to stay for four nights in Monteverde as part of a 10 day Costa Rica vacation. Senda was perfect. We saw a few other resorts, including Monteverde Lodge, and it was clear that Senda was more modern and spacious and the amenities and grounds were far superior than others in town. We are so lucky we chose Senda.

Senda Monteverde: When we walked into the reception area, we knew immediately that we would love the place. The staff greeted us with welcoming enthusiasm. Our check-in agent, Mayte,, was not only efficient, but warm and fun. We were escorted to our "Cabin" which was charming. We had a sitting area, a private, porch with a view of the ocean, a dining area with table and chairs, a very comfortable bed, and a well-appointed bathroom with shower. There are nice extra touches with fragrance sprays, Senda’s private-labeled hand soaps, shampoo, etc. Staff members were readily available and eager to help when requested. The Senda Hotel Restaurant, El Sapo, (on premises), is wonderful. They serve delicious meals from local and sustainable sources, prepared with care by their amazing staff of chefs and presented by enthusiastic servers. Hint, try the Passion Fruit Margarita for a refreshing and delicious bar offering. Among many excellent meals was the incredible roasted garlic soup. Our remarkable birding guide, Giovanni, was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. The hotel is very close to local attractions and a short walk to the small town of Santa Elena. Nestled in the Monteverde Rainforest, this was a most wonderful stay. Pura Vida

Absolutely love this hotel! Small - quiet - quaint. The food here is amazing. We had various meals here and all of them were wonderful! The staff is really really nice! They have fun activities in the afternoon - yoga, kids movie nite , bon fire, cocktail class etc. You won’t regret it! If you are in Monteverde (which is a small town) you should stay h

Costa Rican Vacations booked us at three different hotel properties during our 12 day visit, and Senda was definitely our favorite because of the animals & extensive trails to explore on the property, and the adjoining preserve trails. All staff members and service at Senda was exemplary, and all of Senda’s food delicious and reasonably priced. We also enjoyed that we could easily walk to Santa Elena on our free day to get a good vibe of a nice Costa Rican town. I believe there are 26 duplex style cabins, with porches, scattered on the property and our half of the unit was very quiet and perfectly furnished with all we needed. Breakfast was made to order instead of buffet, and the lunch and dinner selections were fresh and delicious. We could easily have stayed here for a week and are so glad we had this special experience at Senda Hotel.
