This place is great. I loved that it was family owned by three brothers (of which we met 2). They were super nice and gave great recommendations for activities. The room was pretty clean and faced the jungle, which was very cool. Breakfast is included and delicious. There's also laundry service, which is really convenient. We felt like it was...

I am surprised about the great reviews because the room (4 beds) didn't feel clean. One bed was directly underneath the window with curtains that were see through. The cute dogs woke us up every morning barking. The beds were very uncomfortable and the bathroom too small for 4. All in all I didn't feel comfortable in the room at...

We stayed only one night, but both office staff were extremely helpful and honest with options for attractions in monteverde. Beds were a little stiff for my liking, but not any worse than many other places I've stayed in CR. Clean, good, free breakfast. And quiet!!

I had made a reservation for Manakin Lodge on February 21, 2016. I made the reservation through Trip Advisor, which turns out, gets sent to getaroom.com. I received email confirmations from getaroom.com letting me know that I had secured the room for March 22, 2016-March 24, 2016. What it all boils down to is that upon arriving (around 2:00PM), I...

Let me start by saying Monteverde is coffee country and they have some really good coffee always brewed and ready paired with home made banana bread available 24/7 to guests. It really comes in handy because its chilly in Monteverde and some nice coffee and banana bread really hit the spot on multiple occasions. As for the accommodations I found...

Manakin Lodge was a treasure! The owner, Jonathan Salcedo, has a lovely personality, speaks great English, and has lived in Europe, so he has a cosmopolitan awareness. He cares more about creating good relationships than about making money. He is very helpful and sincere. He has made an effort to create a place that has a peaceful, loving atmosphere of...

Older facility. Definitely recommend for those on a budget in a group. We had a very big room for the two of us, but it could sleep 5! The young woman at the front desk was extremely sweet and helpful. Try it out if you're on a budget. Wifi worked in the room. Everything is a drive away (the big...

My girlfriend and I stayed at the lodge for 3 days. The staff was very helpful and friendly, always quick to answer questions or offer recommendations about things to do around town. It is within a walk to downtown as well as some great restaurants and a grocery store. They also offer a free breakfast with coffee throughout the day....

The Manakin Lodge was a good place to stay nothing too special, but the rooms were clean and in good working condition. The only thing that was weird, during our two day stay we did not get any room service. The location around Manakin Lodge seems a little sketchy but overall good stay.

I have very mixed thoughts about Manakin Lodge. To begin with, I was arriving at SJO around midnight and wanted to go straight to Monteverde. Part of the reason I booked Manakin was because they could arrange an airport shuttle service for us since we were arriving too late to take the bus or shared vans. I asked about the...
