We recently enjoyed our second visit to The Old Rectory. The house is charming and sits in a lovely mature garden. It is idyllic and very tranquil We stayed in the Red Room which occupies the attic space under the eaves (just watch your head!). Everything is spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Helle is very friendly, attentive and helpful, offering...

When one reads reviews of “The Rectory” you find two themes, quests returning time after time (just for the pleasure of staying with Helle and David) and a desire to keep it secret. This was my third visit to this oasis of peace and quiet, nestling in the beautiful Wiltshire countryside. On this occasion was welcomed by a notice in...

Make to feel wonderfully welcome, and an unexpected cream tea awaited us. Nothing was too much trouble in any way, and the breakfast was second to none! The room was a lovely comfortable, quiet retreat with everything provided, even down to decaf teabags! Can't wait to return, and see the lovely hosts.

After we had some wonderful days in Old Rectory two years ago, we planned our round trip holiday in England in a way that allowed us to see Helle and David again this year. And when we arrived it was like coming home and visiting old friends. In our experience with a lot of B&B's, it's not only the house...

The Old Rectory was a wonderful find and I can't recommend it highly enough. It is nestled in a small village and perfectly situated for a relaxing break. We stayed for three nights and from the moment we arrived, we felt comfortable and at home. Helle and David are great hosts and we did not want for anything. Nothing was...

We were incredibly fortunate to book this wonderful place for the August Bank Holiday weekend, just 2 days before we were due to arrive, thanks to someone else making a late cancellation. Helle and David are so warm and welcoming, the house is beautiful, the rooms comfortable and cosy, and the breakfasts were amazing. We will definitely be looking for...

We stayed with my family including to grandchildren when attending a wedding in the area. This is set in wonderful settings with in beautiful gardens and achieving peaceful seclusion. The house is decorated sensitively to suit the Georgian period it belongs to. There is some evidence of the European heritage of the proprietors. Hello and David are a lovely couple...

I usually do not write reviews in tripadvisor but have to make an exception here because this B&B is simply great. We returned to the Old Rectory again for another peaceful stay. It is always such a restful, luxurious few nights away from daily life. This time we spent several moments gazing from our rooftop window at the giant trees in the garden only for a buzzard to fly-by at eye level. It amused itself circling the nearby rooks before taking...

Dear James, Thank you so much for taking time to write us a review, it is very much appreciated.
