I'm not quite sure what I am nostalgic about, unless I'm connecting to some kind of a collective memory of the first half of the twentieth century in the South African platteland. The way in which the house had been renovated strikes a good balance between the retaining this sense of nostalgia and contemporary expectations. I was only looking for...

From the moment we arrived on a wet miserable day and were warmly welcomed with a pot of tea our stay was great. Dinner was delicious, beds extremely comfortable. Gregg and Dion are excellent hosts who 'go the extra mile' to ensure a wonderful stay. Many thanks to you both

Was an absolutely wonderful experience staying at Bokmakierie. Dinner and breakfast was out of this world. Hosts were just divine people. The tranquil feel of the area makes it the perfect place to stop over at on a long road trip.

We are a family of five and travellers need look no further than Bokmakierie for the perfect stopover between the provinces in the North and the Eastern Cape. The Guesthouse is very comfortable and the passion the hosts Gregg and Deon have for their business and their guests is amazing. Dinner at Bokmakierie is not to be missed - simply...

Tried this place out as stop over on way to Port Elizabeth from Pretoria. Service was excellent. The hosts, Gregg and Deon, went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. The food showed the passion hosts have to provide quality to their guests. I thought the cold, scented towel on arrival and filter plunger coffee provided in room...

What a great experience. We road trip in SA a lot. For business and leisure. This is one of the best we have found yet. Location is excellent almost exactly halfway between Gauteng and Eastern Cape. This pretty, small town makes an ideal midway stop over. The service is just fantastic. Classy, personalized and those little finer details take it...
