Single room, next to toilet and shower. Good price, all that the website stated. Clean. Administration helpful. Bright old building. Had a fan and small fridge. Kettle in kitchenette. Good position. Worth looking at.

Hostel is okay. It smells like feet but most hostels do. Staff speak broken English, which led to a lot of miscommunication. Otherwise, the location is awesome (very close walk to the beach.) Definitely recommend if you don't want to spend any time besides sleeping in your room.

In all honesty you could give me the shittest bed and it could be the most run-down place but if your staff are welcoming and informative, I would be one very happy traveller. Lamrock Lodge unfortunately lacked a lot of that. Upon arrival there wasn't any introduction to the hostel, no map or directions given... My money was merely taken...

My cousin and i stayed at lamrock lodge for 2 weeks in a twin room, it was a good place for relaxing, the room was great, with a personal fridge and a fan, the best thing is that you are just 3 minutes walking to the beach.

Stayed here for one week which I regretted. Only positive thing I've to say is met three people that I became friends with. The place is dirty and grubby. Stayed in a 4 bed mix dorm with a guy who had been living there for over a month so he had pretty much taken over the whole room with his...

My brother and I stayed at lamrock lodge for two nights over Easter, because we were together we decided to get a twin room rather than stay in the dorm because it worked out not much more expensive, good decision ! The hostel smelt very baddy of vomit, stale booze and walking boots, although in our little room the smell...

Very good location in the heart of Bondi beach, clean place too. You have to ask for a wifi password at the reception, but it logs out everytime you leave the building. That is a bit unpleasant, but in general it's a nice place and you dont need much more than that.

Last night, March 16, police were called once again to deal with drunken guests of the Lamrock Hostel fighting in the street. Drugs dealers operate inside the place, and guests routinely sit in the gutter out the front getting drunk and smoking drugs. The noise and language is loud and crude and continues until 4am when the local pubs shut....

Staying in Bondi Beach

Neighbourhood Profile
Bondi Beach
An iconic Australian suburb, Bondi Beach is famous for its fantastic beaches and views. Once the domain of backpackers, hundreds of tourists from all over the world descend en masse to Bondi in December ready to enjoy the "Aussie summer". Bondi Beach boasts impressive ocean views all along the many restaurants and bars on Campbell Parade. Wake up early and take a dip in the surf before walking the scenic stretch from Bondi to Coogee Beach. Stroll through the Saturday organic markets in North Bondi or grab some fish and chips and relax in the grassy area opposite the beach. For more upscale cuisine, head down to Hall Street where a range of new eateries have recently opened. Just make sure to save enough energy for the buzzing nightlife Bondi Beach has to offer.
