This is one of the most beautiful properties I've stayed in. Authentic Italian design with a modern touch and brand new feel. The rooms were cool with air conditioning and high ceilings. Sunsets on the rooftop were incredible. The amenities kept us busy - large pool, hot tub, gym, tennis court, basketball court, etc. The staff was attentive but let us keep to ourselves. Housekeeping was clean and left chilled bottles of water and snacks every night. Good bar and bartender. Food was DELICIOUS! Especially the night we had pizza in front of the pizza oven. My girlfriend and I consistently looked at each other in awe that we were there. Trying to go back next year. The perfect place to spend a week.
Domenico and Roberta were very available when we were looking to book for a week in July (we booked before the Pandemic) and take our deposit. Due to the Pandemic we had to cancel well in advance and they fully understood and promised us our refund of €1,144. I followed up in August and then again in September as no refund had been received and they apologised for their delay and said that the refund will be issued first week of October (see screenshots of emails attached). Second week in October there was no sign of the money so I emailed and called again. Domenico did respond at first and after multiple emails and calls he finally responded to simply say that they will not issue the refund yet. I sent more emails and finally received an answer going back on his word and offering us credit. They have now closed their phone lines for the winter and Domenico has not replied to my last several emails asking when funds will be sent. While I understand that the hospitality industry is struggling (we are also suffering financial and employment issues on our side), this was a deposit for a trip that was never taken and funds were promised to be returned to us several times; Domenico and Roberta have not honoured their word. For those interested, I will report back in a few days to update you on their response. It is always interesting to see how a hotel responds to live issues in real time. Thank you, Marie…
The Masseria is not just a place to stay, its an experience in itself. Driving through Ugento we were a bit nervous but it is like an oasis - the rooms are lovely, the pool is a dipping pool - perfect to combat the heat - and we loved the roof terraces. You see the most beautiful sunsets, cocktail in hand. The food was incredible and the staff are extremely friendly and offer excellent recommendations for beaches to go to - our favourite was the Marinelli was our personal favourite. Would highly recommend to anyone who wants a peaceful, unpretentious holiday filled with delicious food and drinks and a beautiful setting.
We spent a very pleasant week in this masseria. The family that owns it really made us feel welcome and went a long way to make sure everything was of our liking. I would however say that this is NOT a 5 star hotel at all and hardly a masseria given the total lack of grounds/outdoor space.
Everything you are looking for in a resort you will find at the Masseria Le Mandorle. The food is exceptional, the accommodations are fabulous and the hospitality cannot be surpassed. Less than a mile from downtown and the Castello di Ugento it is located in a beautiful area of Salento. The rooftop views of the sunset are breathtaking and it is only 8 minutes from the beautiful waters of Torre San Giovanni. A great vacation spot for both couples and families.
It's a very good 4 star hotel but definitely not luxury 5 star level. The "ancient farmhouse" description gives the impression that's it's situated in the countryside surrounded by olive tree groves. However it's situated on the edge of Ugento in what looks like a residential area. Pros Friendly and helpful staff Interiors nicely done Cons Wifi not work when we stayed Air condition inadequate for the size of room - room temp stayed at around 26-27C Parking is on the street outside the hotel Restaurant - whilst the food is good, there's no true "a la carte". At dinner service there is a buffet for starters and then a single option for the primi, secondi, dolci courses. Whilst dinner was included in our room rate, it was explicit that drinks would be an additional cost. There didn't seem to be any price list for drinks. Whilst it's a very good hotel it misses many of the finer details that would take it into the luxury level.…
We recently enjoyed 10 days at the wonderful Masseria le Mandorle with our daughter, son in law and their 3 small children. We were completely blown away by the fabulous welcome and generous hospitality by every single member of staff. Claudio, Alessandro, Natalia, Pierro etc could not do enough for us , or our young Grandchildren, in fact , one of the children felt poorly on a Sunday and Dominico kindly took him to the doctor and then to the pharmacy. That’s the kind of wonderful people they are. Food was delightful, fresh and locally sourced, which was made even better by Claudio’s attentive service and knowledge. The hotel itself is charming and spotlessly clean, with a lovely safe garden and pool area which the children especially enjoyed. On our days out to the fabulous beaches, Georgio the hotel taxi driver was always on hand taking us to the best places, of particular note was Bora Bora beach and an amazing charter boat trip that took us around the fabulous coastline to explore the many fascinating caves, Giovanni who skippered the boat was very knowledgeable and kind. All in All, it was a fantastic family holiday and once again the wonderful Italian people charmed us with their immense hospitality and genuine warmth.…
Our stay at Masseria Le Mandorle was absolutely magical, and I do not use that word lightly. Quiet, refined, classy, clean Yet not stuffy at all. Dianna and Massimo treated us like family. The room was luxurious, spacious, well-appointed and comfortable, none of which are easy to find in Italy for the price. Ugento is a tiny , uncrowded, and unpretentious town in the heel of the boot of Italy and in my estimation a gem. We were only 20 minutes from a beach club where we swam in the Ionian Sea and enjoyed a beautiful Lunch with friends. In the evenings, all the guests gathered in the dining area for drinks and dinner. I could have subsisted entirely in the antipasti table. All the food was fresh and beautifully presented. Dining in this manner gave us the opportunity to meet people from all over the world. I can not say enough wonderful Things about this beautiful resort and I can’t wait until we visit again. …
We spent one week at this beautiful Masseria in Ugento, at the heart of the Salento area in Apulia. Perfectly situated to reach all the wonderful beaches and coastal attractions, the place is brand new, with a swimming pool and a tennis court. The personnel is extremely kind and professional, always keen to help and support you on any of the activities you may want to plan during your stay. Claudio is an excellent maitre de salle! Rooms are sparkling clean and large in size, very calm and well climatized. We had the pleasure to meet the owners who also own the Castello Di Ugento location, another amazing place where you can have dinner. Excellent experience, thanks to all the staff!
We had a great time staying at this family owned hotel which is linked to the 5-star Castello di Ugento. The staff (and owners) work hard at making your stay as comfortable and agreeable as possible. A special mention for bar and restaurant manager Claudio who sees to all your needs, always with a smile and a touch of humor! He is certainly an asset to the hotel and adds that little extra that sets it apart from its peers.
