This little slice of paradise blew me away. This charming jungle lodge is owned and operated by a large Ex-pat friendly, the Bevis's, who stop at nothing to provide you with the adventure or the serenity (or both) that you came here looking for. The wildlife density here is immense. Easily the most hummingbirds I have seen in all my... More

Thank you for your amazing, descriptive, and informative review! It's important that people realize we are an eco-lodge, not a high-end luxury resort. The advantage for our guests is rich biodiversity and chances to see all manner of wildlife, not to mention beautiful rainforest habitats. We hope you will return and continue your search for reptiles! More

Amazing place in the Mayan Mountains. Family atmosphere, friendly and felt very safe. Do not expect to just take a quick jaunt into town for dinner, roads are very rough and slow. That said you really don't need to leave as their meals were fantastic and scenery wonderful. LOTS of birds to enjoy. They set up a tour to Tikal... More

Thank you for the great review! Thanks for pointing out that our location is remote, but the scenery makes the road worthwhile. We are watching work being done on our roads so are hopeful the next time you return the trip will be shorter and less bumpy. More

Words can't describe how amazing my stay was. The family is so loving and fun to be with. The food is incredible. The guided tour through the jungle on horse back learning about the plant medicine was unlike anything I've done. It wasn't an easy ride!! Challenging and eye opening. Again the family is really something special. Big love to... More

Awesome mountain accommodations. The food was fabulous, the Belizian cuisine presented a touch of their culture. The guide was a walking encyclopedia...so knowledgeable of all the native plants for their usage. The horses were amazing. All levels of riders were able to participate. Over all a 5 star rating!!!

We traveled in a group of 12 family and friends aged 15-63, and MET gave us the perfect amount of alone and together time. We all got to do things we enjoyed. Personally I really enjoyed no cell phone, no computers, just relaxation and no worries, but internet access was available for flight confirmation and the likes. One member of... More

Belize is a beautiful and fascinating country. Most people spend their time on the coast (which is wonderful) but don't miss the opportunity to stay at MET and see the incredible diversity that Belize has to offer: jungles, wild life (awesome birds!!), rivers, caves, waterfalls, etc. All from horseback if you desire!! Wow, what a wonderful way to get a... More

My wife, daughter, elderly Mother-in-law, 8 year old grandson and myself spent the better part of two weeks at MET. This place is magical. The setting is stunning. The birdwatching is fantastic. We used MET as a base to travel in the Cayo district while caving, horseback riding, a pontoon boat ride on a remote jungle lake with georgeous waterfalls,... More

Perfectly perfect for us. Off the grid and definitely off the beaten path, comfortable lux-rustic living, hummingbirds and tropical birds abounding, the sounds of howlers each night, the friendliest people you can imagine, gorgeous horses and glorious trails and nature adventures, and every detail thought of! My husband and I and 8 year old daughter stayed at MET for 6... More

My partner and I visited Belize this month and stayed at M.E.T. while visiting the Caracol ruins. We enjoyed the property, the hosts, but we really felt it was our guide, Giovanni, who made that part of the trip great. “Cottages are basic but clean and nice. No air conditioning or electricity but during our stay we didn't need it. Beds were fair, clean but not as comfortable as many. Windows & porch views are worth a mint. Rooms are lite with kerosene lamps - so harder to read by with bugs who are attracted to the lights. Not a place where you live in the rooms anyway because there is so much to see outside!”

“The casitas have en suite bathroom/shower, each bed has a mosquito net. Very roomy. These are open air rooms, so some "wildlife" may join you, such as some very cool insects. All the casitas are nicely secluded and a short walk to the main meeting area. Nice porch with chairs. Can't say that any of the casitas are "better" than any others... all are quite nice.”
