Nice staff. Good food. Excellent room with brilliant shower. Good range of beer,whisky and gin. Nice open fire (still needed in August!) One distraction is the tv that is on constantly. Not needed in what is a very nice restaurant.

What a wee gem of a place. Easily accessed off the A66 in a small village. Very friendly and welcoming and lunch was really nice. As for the homemade scone - huge, fresh and absolutely gorgeous. Will certainly be back.

Yes, I have seen dogs in for lunch-time, There is the main bar/dining area with large fire and then just round the corner a small snug with a few chairs and table and another fire. Also plenty of room outside on the terrace... More

We stayed there with our 3 dogs and took them with us into the bar when we went for our evening meal. Not sure if they are allowed in all areas - we didn't take them into the dining room where breakfast was served and there... More

Yes two choices I think, one was vegetable lasagne and I don't recall the other one.
