This is a quirky hotel with the feel of a private mansion or museum (which in effect it is). If you want a sleek modern hotel this is definitely not the place to stay, but if you enjoy something a little quirkier, and enjoy seeing antiques and paraphernalia amid the hotel, then it is recommended. Our room had a patio...

We stayed here for 5 nights in August 2016. Hotel Villa Sonia is a strange place and desperately needs updating. Other key points Positives: the views are fantastic and so too is the location Negatives: staff did not offer to help with my bags, breakfast selection is poor, pool does not have enough beds or towels.

Imagine from the time you open your curtains until the sunsets on the balcony you will see Etna. you will never forget the colours of the skies around Etna as you sip your coffee or cocktails. The hotel is well placed, spotlessly clean but a bit drab in its decor. Think of french parisiene style that needs bringing in to...

This is a lovely place for some quiet chilled out time, beautiful views over Etna a very beautiful villa. We stayed in one of the small chalets down at the bottom with a great terrace to relax with a glass of something chilled (rooms come with mini fridges) . The rooms are clean and of a good size with great...

This is a typical family run hotel nestled high above Taormina in the village of Castelmola. Spotlessly clean, excellent service and views of Mount Etna to die for. Breakfast was limited same as most other Italian hotels. Plenty of parking space unlike Taormina hotels.

We spent a week in this beautiful hotel at the end of September. The views from the restaurant are stunning and the decor is authentic and rustic but luxurious. We didn't have the best room, we decided not to upgrade to the recommended Etna view rooms because we knew we would be out exploring most of the time. The shower...

We stayed here for three nights in September. Hotel has beautiful grounds and nice views. Breakfast room was beautiful. Staff were friendly especially one gentlemen at reception ( unfortunately I don't remember is name). He was very helpful and nice to us. Our room was not the best. Quite small while bathroom was absolutely massive and basically empty while in...

We were upgraded to room 409, a very nice room, bit on the dark side due to no window but it does have a nice balcony with magnificent view of mount Etna and its so quiet. The shower is a bit on the tiny side, but that appears to be the norm, a bath would have been nice. The staff are really...

This is a slightly old fashioned hotel but that's what I liked. It has kept it's character and charm. Our room was spacious and clean. The terrace was huge, but I did pay extra for that. The food was good at the hotel, there is no dress code. The pool was small, but I tend to go off exploring rather...

Stayed here for two nights, as part of a tour. It was one of the best hotels we stayed in on this tour. Both of our rooms had balconies, with a bowl of grapes and strawberries in the rooms. The rooms were a good size, with a fine bathroom. The breakfast was lovely, with very nice waiter service for hot...
