This is not a hotel to visit in the traditional sense. It’s an Ayuveda resort where the guests enjoy a program from early morning yoga to various herbal treatments prepared by the in-house doctor when you arrive. There are three meals a day provided and planned with wellness in mind. There is plenty of time to just relax in the hotels beach hut or by the pool. The staff are very attentive. The meals are excellent and the rooms are good. There is no TV and early nights are the order of the day. A word of caution to some people. The owner is Austrian and I found most of the guests German or Austrian so the conversation around the communal table is generally not in English. As long as you are aware I found that all guests could speak English. For the treatments the hotel advises three weeks stay. I think two weeks would be fine And I only had 8 days which was also ok but probably minimum. It is a health retreat rather that a hotel per se but if you ever wanted to try this sort of thing out, this place is good to start. There are a number of local tours one can take as well and the staff are happy to organise. Also Sri Lanka is a wonderful country to visit. …
A luxury vacation in its substance more than in the typical standard hotels, excellent personal service, healthy food, small cozy resort, generous ayurvedic treatments ideal for a tourist, the luxury of simplicity and caring all inclusive hospitality; nice saffron-coloured beach within 5 minutes walk, water temparature of the Indian Ocaen like a cosmic cuddling, not so far away possibility for many interesting exursions. They speak some German.
