Visited today for lunch with friends. Meal was very nice, horseradish to clear your sinuses! Waitress got drinks wrong - twice, but no major issue. Coffee and mints for 4 arrived - with only three mints 'that's all we have left'. Journey there was entertaining. Relied on phone satnav but nearly ended up in a semi detached in Carlton (looked...

We booked a family deluxe room for an Easter break. The room was lovely, very generous proportions, especially the bathroom. Lovely little touches like free wifi, fruit and water in the room and a great view made it extra special. The breakfast was plentiful and enjoyable. We loved the fact the country park was just waiting outside. The parking lot...

It's only as I've checked back through my reviews that I realised I never reviewed Hardwick Hall after our wedding here on Oct 1st 2016. The staff at Hardwick had so much going on in the days leading up to our wedding, with their oyster fest & German beer festival but they were still very professional with us and gave...

Short Easter break. I stay in a lot of hotels and this was one of the best. Warm friendly welcome. Great rooms, well equipped and luxurious and quite fresh. Welcoming bar with good atmosphere. Ate in Rib Room one evening. "Lady Steak" was fantastic and as was King Prawn main with huge prawns. Both meals perfectly cooked and served politely...

I booked to stay at the Hotel, as we were attending a wedding there. I booked over the phone and requested a double deluxe room. Which they confirmed by email. The email said that I had booked a double/twin so I emailed back to confirm it was a double - they confirmed this in writing. Attended a great wedding and...

Booked with the family for Eater Sunday as not been before and read some positive reviews. There was a good choice for the 3 course menu at £25.95. Prawn cocktail starter was tasteless, no sauce and bland frozen prawns. The risotto was also bland but with lots of cream. The main course of turkey was better with plenty of vegetables. The...

Although we were the only ones in the whole bar/lounge area it felt like we were a huge burden to the staff. In particularly the barman who served us in the morning, very abrupt and seemed as though he was not there to help us. Asking for a coffee/drinks menu we were told 'it is just the same as everywhere'...

Would not go again, very poor, disappointed. Expensive for what you get. Asked ahead for change in menu but still got this wrong. Annoyed that this had to be repeated. Only people there, not surprised after this experience.

Stayed at Hardwick Hall Hotel for the first time on Good Friday 2017. The hotel is impressive from the moment you drive into its grounds. There is parking to the front and rear. The hotel is full of old charm from deep pile carpets to leather furniture. I had booked a deluxe room and was not disappointed. The bedroom had...

This hotel has always been one of our favourites to visit but the dissappointment we experienced on our last two visits have left us wondering what on earth has happened. After a pleasent walk around the park we decided to indulge in a pot of tea and a toasted tea cake, simple, apparently not. Tea cake hardly toasted,no jam,one pat of butter,...
