Lots of room for improvement, however if you're not in any rush then a beautiful tasting venue to relax and enjoy the scenery. It was an interesting and enjoyable experiences but I think if I was really serious about wine tasting, I would not have been impressed. Mcc really good.

Montpellier Winery is a really beautiful old Cape Dutch wine farm with beautiful grounds. The tasting 'room' is really an old house that is being used for tastings, and you can spread out throughout the building and onto the patio. The one lounge room has a massive fireplace which will be amazing for winter tastings. We noticed that South African...

we went as a group and thus kinda took over the main house. the setting and the grounds are fantastic! you hardly need to go to other farms, as you have everything you need right on the farm , including emmanuel, who is there to help and please you. the area of tulbagh also seems to have friendlier estates, and...

Tasting is expensive at R45 for 5 wines, and they only have 6 wines, so not much of a choice for the money you pay. Scenery is beautiful, wines are good, Specially the Sauvignon Blanc was great. It was a bit confusing as to where the tasting area was as a wedding was at the farm, so they moved the...

We spend a lovely afternoon sitting outside on the porch with a cheese platter and the wine tasting menu. We loved it so much, we decided to spend the night. Ended up having house and pool almost to ourselves. The entire estate has a special kind of magic about it. When you approach the entryway, you will see the Chapel...

The winery is surrounded by mountains in the Tulbagh area and you drive through a "bluegum of honour" lane before arriving at the parking area. We arrived at Montpellier just before 17:00 and was surprised to find it still open for business. Immanuel invited us in and presented the wine tasting to us - a very welcoming and friendly waiter....

We were staying in beautiful Riebeck West for a few days and as EVERYTHING there closes at 2pm on Saturdays and closed on Sundays [which beggars belief in a tourist area] we decided to take a trip out to Tulbagh. We decided to pop in just to see in Montepellier was open and found it to be. The gardens are...

I stayed here with my daughter over the Christmas period in one of their little chalets that are for rent, or "Rietdakkies" as they are called. The chalet had stunning views, its own deck on which to sit snd relax and braai. Inside the chalet was a bedroom with double bed. In the main are of the chalet is a...

What a lovely experience in the heart of Tulbagh. It took me back to a time when you could just sit and relax in the garden. The wine tasting is R45 per person and the Shiraz is possibly the best I have ever tasted! Kid friendly, pet friendly and good service. You can order snacks too. Well worth the visit.

If it's a one day wedding then this is a beautiful old Cape Dutch style wine farm venue but staying over is not recommended. If you have to sleep over bring mosquito candles, extension cords, fans for the evening because it gets so hot, coffee, milk, pool towels, hair dryers, adapters. Beds are uncomfortable, decor in rooms is about 40...
