Lovely place, lovely people. Internet is awesome, free laundry on site, knowledgeable about the area and helpful ringing shuttle for crossing and anything else we needed. Rooms were quaint and homey. This is no impersonal chain. You can't beat a friendly place and genuine hospitality when traveling.

I loved the old feel to the rooms with the vintage furniture. Louie and Marina are the new owners of Tongariro Crossing Lodge and they were extremely friendly and helpful. Marina saved me by drying my soaking wet shoes after a hike. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable. The buildings are old so one might miss some modern comforts...

The unit was beautifully decorated in antique furniture, the bed was very comfortable, kitchen fully equipped. The hot water cupboard was exceptionally large with room to dry all your snow gear. A very delicious breakfast was served to high standard in the lodge. Service, setting and location were excellent.

I stayed here just recently on December 29. Nicely decorated room and a very quiet and peaceful night of rest. I was interested in the Tongariro National Park and Louis was helpful in providing options on things I could do at the Park. Had a nice breakfast the following morning at the Lodge including ham and eggs which are not...

Nice place to stay and enjoy trips in the national park ( Tongariro, Ruapehu...). Quiet, nice views, confortable... The charming owner could do many things for you and is very useful as advisor ( transports...) Just ask him. Wifi sometimes not available in bedrooms ( depends on the place of the bedrooms) but there's a nice garden where you can...

We stayed here after hiking all day in Tongariro National Park. The suites are very spacious, the bedrooms are large and the kitchen is an added plus. The beds were very comfortable. We stayed in a room with a shower that was life-changing! It had multiple pulsating jets and a radio. I think we took 3 showers/day each. Colin was...

Friends of ours had booked this lodge via an European agent. We booked and joined them. The room was large, comfortable and very clean. Will stay there again and recommend the lodge to friends. If we go again and to the Crossing will definitely stay there. Owner has lots of knowledge as well

Spent 3 nights in this period lodge. The rooms were spacious and had the essentials for a comfortable stay anywhere - a good bed and powerful shower. The breakfasts were healthy, tasty and catered for gluten free easily. Our kind and helpful hosts collected us from the station and offered good advice on nearby walks and the history of the...
