Beautiful views (weather permitting). Staff are very friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean and well appointed. Shuttle service for the Tongariro crossing was well organised. Packed lunch that they offer is probably not needed.

I really like this camp ground. Been there 3 times now. Nice staff. Only the facilities could be newer. ;) But I am sure I will do the Crossing again and will stay at the Discovery Lodge again. The early shuttle for the Crossing is awesome, as you get there before it gets warm and the crowds arrive.

Unfortunately we were caught with bad luck with the weather and it rained during the time we were there. We got the budget room, and it was warm and comfortable. The hotel provide shuttles to the Tongariro Crossing but we had to cancel due to the weather. We mostly did day hikes around the area and stayed in the comfy...

Shuttle to and from the Tongariro crossing was convenient and main reason for choosing this lodge. It is very close to the start of the trail. The manager was very knowledgeable about the crossing. We stayed in a chalet which was very nice, clean, modern with a kitchenette. The room was nicer than expected and felt recently remodeled. The other...

Stayed in one of the cabins around the camping area. Had to be moved twice -- the first cabin didn't lock, the second one the lock wouldn't open. We got a discount down to tent site prices, but still not worth it, because the communal facilities were terrible. Really small kitchen, with only 2 sinks to serve 20 cabins and...

Perfect self contained accommodation with beautiful views towards the mountains and fields. Cooking facilities were adequate, a larger kitchen knife would have been handy but everything else great. Very clean and new. Shuttle service was seamless.

We stayed in a chalet with plans to do the Tongariro Crossing but the weather was too bad. The owners are very knowledgeable and gave us other shorter hikes to do in the bad weather. The chalet was clean and had everything we needed, and was very comfortable. And it's only a very short drive to the trail head!

My wife and I stayed in a chalet for two nights and had a lovely time. Callum, his wife, and employees are top notch people who made our overall Tongariro Crossing experience very memorable. It was the perfect place to stay.

Lovely chalet accommodation, wonderful view of the mountain and good shuttle service for the crossing. Really impressed with the meals we had in the restaurant and restaurant staff - friendly and helpful. Great location to check out other things in the area. Would stay again.

Stayed in the bigger chalet. Great view of the mountains. Very clean interior. Easy parking just by the chalet. Chalet could accommodate 5 persons but there would not be any walking space. Its a pity there wasn't any outdoor furniture. Nobody had a proper shower because the pressure was very low and it couldn't be regulated, its either very hot...
