Stay amidst nature and reindeer and with a Sámi touch outside Jukkasjärvi village. Choose between a cosy forest cabin (stohpu) and a comfortable Sámi tent (goahti), or why not a night in a traditional Sámi tent (lávvu)? Nestled in the snow-coverd woods wintertime and on the banks of river Torne, this small-scale and snug accommodation facility with plenty of space offers an ideal base for your Swedish Lapland getaway. The host will make sure you get the best out of your stay in Sápmi and with a little luck, the northern lights can be seen dancing across the sky directly from the lodge during autumn and winter nights. Summertime the midnight sun reigns. Breakfast is included, and there is access to guest kitchen, barbecue site and wood-heated sauna! Activities like reindeer sledding, hiking or fishing can be added, or why not booking a complete package. ICEHOTEL is situated only 3 km away from Reindeer Lodge.

We loved staying at the Reindeer lodge! The cottage was idyllic with a wood stove to keep warm, and access to another log cabin for food preparation and separate buildings for showers and bathrooms. Falling asleep to the crackling of the wood fire, just delightful. The rooms also include electric heaters and a fridge so you will always be warm. A lovely breakfast was available each morning, along with very friendly and helpful staff. We really enjoyed being able to use the cooking facilities ourselves in the evening. The facilities are run by Nutti Sámi Siida, a family run Sami company who organize experiences based on Sámi culture. They offer this special lodging close to reindeer so there are opportunities to interact with these lovely animals. During the reindeer encounter we learned about the relationship between the reindeer and the Sámi people, were able to feed the reindeer and also experience reindeer sled racing. We really enjoyed learning about Sami culture with Sara our guide while she prepared a traditional meal of flat bread, fried reindeer meat and lingon berries. It was a fun experience and we really enjoyed getting to know Sara and hearing her stories. I would definitely stay at the Reindeer lodge again and highly recommend it to others!

Big thanks to everyone at Nutti Sámi Siida for making our trip in Sweden so wonderful! Reindeer Lodge was a dream, couldn’t have asked for better accommodation. We were greeted by Sara in the eve, who also managed to save the day on a snowmobile on our last day. We stayed in the gorgeous cabin for 4 nights, but would happily live there. The stove kept everything toasty, and even I got into chopping our own wood and kindling! I was initially apprehensive with the bathroom not being on site (ie inside en-suite) but I needn’t have worried, a 20 second walk at most, and warm and clean inside. The sauna is also a must, and don’t skip on lying in the snow outside in between - Especially after borrowing snow shoes and going for a trek through woods and around lakes, will relax your muscles and make your skin feel great. Make sure not to miss out on a yummy breakfast either, filled with local delicacies in the cosy kitchen area. Then go feed the reindeer their breakfast after! Corey and Simon were so kind explaining all about the life of reindeer herders. We also visited their Márkanbáiki Museum, which was interesting, with more reindeer to feed, lots of informative details about the Sami culture, and Café Sápmi which served tasty food. Extra recommendations: 1. Book a dog sled excursion, we went with Arctic Dogsled Adventures with Hannah as our guide, it was amazing. 2. Visit the Ice Hotel, we just went for the Ice Bar and it was totally worth it! Elsa and the barman were delightful. Overall, an incredible experience, made all the better by the people. Special mention to Gio for all his help and kindness. We hope to return at some point (hopefully to catch the northern lights!). Our Holiday felt like a proper getaway from normalcy; back to nature at its finest.

We visited the lodge in December 2021 and it was an absolutely amazing experience. The cabin is located basically in the middle of nowhere close to the waterside in a forest (walk over the ice to Jukkasjärvi is about 30 min) . The cabins are clean and cozy, the sauna is great and the restrooms as the showers clean and comfortable. There is a classic swedish/sami breakfast but most of all the people working here are super friendly always helpful and knowledgeable both about Sami culture and the nature around them. Will definitely be coming back and highly recommend this place to everyone! Thanks for a beautiful stay!

Absolutely gorgeous little huts with wood fires and bbq area. The location is ideal, and the reindeer are adorable. All staff were so friendly and helpful, breakfasts perfect. We saw the northern lights from the lake the first night! A perfect start to our Lapland tour!

Our three days in this wonderland were amazing. Between the terrific food, being able to try our hand at driving a reindeer sled, and learning about the Sami people and their history, culture, way of life, modern challenges, it was impossible to pick a favorite aspect of this location. But the outstanding part of this were the remarkable people who took care of us there. We learned so much from them, not just information-wise, but about them as people. Our conversations were profound and personal. How I would love to meet up with them again.

My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights after doing a dogsledding tour. Our cabin was spacious yet cozy and we loved the fireplace (even if we had to ask for help starting the fire as our fire starting skills are subpar...). The accommodations are very nice - yes, there is no running water in the cabins, but the bathrooms were a short walk from the cabins and the shower/sauna facility was in great condition. And certainly after a week of dogsledding without running water or normal toilets this felt like a luxury! The meals were excellent and they did an outstanding job accommodating my wife's need for a gluten free (she has celiac disease). We snowshoed across the frozen river to the Sami village and church and also did the Sami reindeer experience tour. We also participated in reindeer feeding each morning. No northern lights due to low activity/clouds but it was still a great experience that we definitely recommend!

Cute little cabins in the Northern Sweden wilderness. Wake up to a heard of reindeer outside your cabin, try amazing home made Sami food, and learn about the history and culture of the Sami people. Enjoy the sauna and coffee by a roaring outdoor fire and if you are lucky see the stunning Northern Lights. Cannot say enough good things about this place and the amazingly helpful and friendly staff. Thank you.

We stayed here on Christmas Eve to Christmas Day. The setting is very quaint, the cabins are fantastic and this is a very authentic experience. Before dinner we made use of the sauna and shower facilities which were great. Just behind the cabins are the reindeer which you can go and feed. We were treated to a fantastic northern light display after a very nice home cooked dinner. We could not have asked for anything more. This was perfect experience!

In hind sight, the Reindeer Lodge was a bit more "advanced" than my partner and I are use to. The cabins don't have running water, and toilets and bathrooms are shared. To keep the cabin nice and hot, guests manage their own fire in the cabin. This is probably not rugged for most people, but it was for us... and we're sooooooo happy that we did it! First off - if you're choosing between Ice Hotel and Reindeer Lodge, there isn't a choice. Reindeer Lodge is totally the way to go for a very pure (and fun!) Arctic experience. With that said, everyone that has said that this is a once in a lifetime experience is 100% correct. Part of that is because of the natural beauty of the place, but much of the credit for a great experience is due to the Lodge staff, who seem to go out of their way to ensure every guest has a great experience. We saw the Northern Lights, but even if we hadn't, this would have been well worth the time and money. We really enjoyed our stay at Reindeer Lodge and will go out of our way to recommend them to others, including wilderness newbies like us.
