Welcome to the original ICEHOTEL. Founded in 1989 in the village of Jukkasjärvi, Sweden, ICEHOTEL is a hotel and an art exhibition with ever-changing art created in a new guise every winter, completely made out of natural ice from Torne River, one of Sweden’s national Rivers and last untouched waters. When the winter suites have melted back into the river in the spring, a part of the hotel still stands, our permanent part of ICEHOTEL called ICEHOTEL 365, open 365 days a year. A place where visitors can experience the ice and snow year-round and experience winter inside – no matter the outdoor temperature. Including our luxury suites, each with a private relaxe and bathroom, art suites, an ice gallery with ice sculpting opportunities for guests and our world famous ICEBAR that serves Champagne and drinks in the rocks. The entire ICEHOTEL 365 is cooled in the summer by the solar panels, harnessing the energy from the neverending midnight sun. A warm welcome to ICEHOTEL!

This hotel is nicely situated, away from light pollution to give you a great chance to view the Northern Lights. We stayed in a "warm room" but toured the ice rooms and ice bar. The ice rooms were fascinating to look at and the bar was fun to drink in. The warm rooms were lacking in decor, as it seemed all the attention went to the ice rooms. However, the bed was very comfortable and the room was spacious. The bathroom was well stocked and had a great rainfall shower head. We definitely enjoyed our stay.

Hotel's Favourite
We booked a room at the ICEHOTEL 365 for Aug 2020. Starting in the Spring of 2020, the reservations staff was responsive, helpful and accommodating as we moved our plans forward to 2021 and then again to 2022. A big thanks to everyone who emailed with me over the years! We arrived at the ICEHOTEL on a later flight, so we were ready to check-in, eat dinner and get ready for our cold night in the "Toy Box" rm 317. When we first walked into the room - our roller suitcases scraping across the snow on the ground - we were all amazed. It was stunning and magical. We were fortunate to have a warm bathroom and because we have a 12 year old, having this space to get ready and as a "plan B" was very comforting. They had given us instructions that the one layer of thermals we brought with us was sufficient to keep us warm and the sleeping bags were designed for this. I even gave up my uncomfortable wool socks for some fuzzy socks I brought with me. We also all had hats - mine was cashmere and kept my head plenty warm. The only body part that got cold was our noses. The kiddo and I didn't fall asleep until after midnight, but after that we were able to sleep until morning. We did a warm room the 2nd night and were perfectly satisfied with that room. We also did the photography tour and loved it. Not the mosquitos, but everything else. Everyone who worked at the hotel and restaurant was very friendly. This was the highlight of our trip to Scandinavia and an incredible memory.

This was a truly different experience than usual :) A place that must be visited at least once in a lifetime. I loved everything, from the Art gallery to the hotel rooms itself. If you don't want to spend the night in the hotel, consider just visiting, for a 30-40 EUR fee you'll get all the possible experience.

What a place I want to meet whoever thought this up. The rooms are amazing and we had a deluxe which gave us a beautiful bathroom and sauna to enjoy. Every one should come - but stay in the warm room and just pay to walk the icehotel rooms and drink in the bar. The warm hotel beds are horrible for couples and very uncomfortable so maybe stay somewhere else. The restaurant was amazing and the staff great. It’s a beautiful location!

Horrible service. Couldn’t have more less interested staff. Waste of time and cash. I wouldn’t even recommend staying or seeing the sculptures. If you order an alcoholic drink they won’t even make it. Was definitely not something I will recommend or even say was worth my time.

We stayed in a warm room. The hotel is located in a tourist area about 12 km from Kiruna. Nice location on the border of a lake: Positive points: very nice room, spacious, elegant, bow window on pine trees and sky in a small house with 4 rooms. Interesting Ice art exhibition. Good restaurant with elegant setting and good food. Breakfast, included in our stay, was excellent except on the last day bacon was clearly from previous day and cold. Negative points: when no cleaning appeared, we were told it was supposed to be every two days. I had to ask for coffee and cups that initially were provided only for one day. More important, all the paths were completely covered with slippery ice and we were not close to the reception and restaurant. Only after two days they put some gravel to improve the situation. Shuttle service not available, car strongly recommended, taxi service expensive

This is a truly magical place. The 'cold' rooms are ALL pieces of art, and are spectacular. The deluxe suites have their own heated bathrooms! The Ice Bar is stunning, with its glasses made of ice. One of the excursions is a combination Northern lights safari and wilderness meal. Absolutely delicious and Fillip(sp) was a wonderful host/chef! The ICEHOTEL also has bedding for couples as well as the standard sized mummy bag for the Cold rooms. The water is straight from the river and is naturally pure. If you can afford the Ice Suites, then this is a once-in-a-lifetime bucket list item, NOT to be missed! Nothing like it anywhere in this world!

Before our stay, I had very helpful communication with staff dealing with my own booking error. They were very accommodating and responsive. Disappointed that the hotel didn’t offer airport transfers since the taxi charged $50 each way for a 15 minute ride. Arrange for your taxi before arrival to the Ice Hotel. The airport is tiny and we were lucky to find a taxi - which appeared to be the only one available. Hotel staff was welcoming and helpful with excursions. The ice bar was amazing and we very much enjoyed seeing each of the 365 ice rooms. Absolutely stunning. The warm room itself was a little tired with a bed that was too soft. I also didn’t realize there wasn’t daily housekeeping. This was fine, however, housekeeping entered our room at 9:30am our first morning and I’m not sure why. They did knock but we were still recovering from a nine hour time difference, so it was unexpected. I would absolutely stay at the Ice Hotel again and thank you to its wonderful lobby and ice bar staff.

This was advertised as a half day trip but in fact it was from 9 to 5 , 2 hours each way by coach group limited to 30 some people at the hotel missed out because the trip was fully booked. The scenery on the journey was fantastic we also saw a Moose. The ice hotels we're amazing Ice hotel 30 melts away but ice hotel 365 is built in a concrete Frame and is there all Year Incredible experience beyond our expectations highly recommended.

Very interesting experience to sleep in the cold room. I am so thankful for the warm sleeping bag and beanie that was provided. Woke a few times during the night as my nose got cold. The warm room was great.
