I've been meaning to leave this review for a very long time! This is a beautiful villa, with attention to detail I haven't previously seen in any other villa I've stayed in. I had booked this villa after literally months of searching for a nice villa with a private heated pool. This trip was for my birthday, and having a heated pool was the most important buying point for me. There was an error within the Solmar Villa's advert at the time, that stated the pool heating was included. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the friendly owners at the airport. I became very upset (I actually had a meltdown in the airport!) to learn that it was an error within the advert, and pool heating was extra and needed to be ordered in advance. After conversations between myself and Solmar, and subsequent conversations between the owners and Solmar. It was agreed that the pool heating would be switched on, but it would take several days to reach its optimum temperature. The owners were fantastic about it all! They even went to the trouble of sending over a beautiful birthday cake to the villa! From the quality of the furniture to the stocked downstairs cloakroom cabinet, and welcoming feel to the decor, you can tell they think of everything needed for a comfortable, pleasurable vacation stay.…
Our party of 17 rented all 3 villas for a week To say it was amazing is an understatement. The villas each have their own pool and hot tub. Barbeque and entertainment areas; all rooms have their own en suites. Each Villa has a washing machine and tumble drier and is air conditioned. My only complaint was that we couldn’t find the villas when we arrived - bookings were made under the name of Aminta Estate, but no signage showed that the 3 villas were in fact part of Aminta Estates and all were completely shuttered and closed . We headed into Dassia for a quick meal and got back to find the villas open and the agent was there so we were able to gain access. Would I recommend the villas? Without a bounty! .
Outstanding villa, immaculate in every way, fantastic garden and pool enabling us to fully relax. It passed my wife's standards with flying colours so can't recommend it higher than that. Recommend hiring a car though as there are much better bays/beaches than Dassia. But just great to come back to! Would love to stay there again.
Having spent nearly 3 weeks at this oasis, I cannot speak highly enough of the experience. The house and surrounds are immaculate, and the maid and gardeners couldn't have been more obliging. From the moment Sissy and Nikos met us at the gate, it was our home away from home. We had guests coming and going, and they loved it ! We would recommend hiring a car, but local taxis are prompt and friendly. The bus service to and from town stops 150 metres from the Villa, and is very cheap. We loved the local restaurants. Andreas House for a cheap and cheerful dinner in a great setting within walking distance(very friendly family run business), and Apovrado (a stiff walk uphill, or short drive, but well worth it),In the old city we loved Restaurant Rex and Venetian Well, and for a world class dining experience, Etrusco. A day trip out to Paxos and antipaxos is a must. The boat hire people on the beach below Apovrado were fantastic. Hard to think of any negatives. Wasps were present but caused no problems, (recommend outdoor dining at dusk as they disappear at that time). Thank you S and O Villas, it was amazing !!!…
