On arrival late at night we were told that our room was taken by someone else and that they were upgrading us... Amazing! However they then put us in the maintenance car with no car seats to their sister hotel... they said it was an upgrade... Amazing! When we got there, the room was clearly a downgrade, much smaller and cramped for our family of 4. Not an upgrade. The next day we were swimming and one of the kids needed the toilet, room key did not work so cleaner let us in. Ordered some drinks and was told to pay (we are all inclusive)... Seems we were checked out so had no room for our daughter to nap and no all inclusive. Got to our booked hotel and given a 25 minute massage as compensation. Would expect much more for not having a room, being moved in the middle of the night, and not having a room for the day. great hotel, great staff, but they really try... It seems there are a LOT of English families here who have had their rooms occupied by other families and done have been offered much more and much less so not an equitable compensation policy... Very poor form. We were then told that we need to contact kuomi as we did not book directly for any compensation. Good hotel, good staff, poor management and double booking rooms

So, boring pretext, I’ve never written a review before having been lucky enough to have stayed at many hotels all over the world through work. Here goes. Reality check on a few things having read previous reviews about the resort. Sorry for the sarcasm. Staff - the service is next level, anyone complaining about the small things (like having to ask for a bottle of wine instead of being given one) then relax guys you’re on holiday, ask for a bottle (they’ll give it to you). They are friendly and they work seven days a week to cater for you and your requests, spare that a thought when you’re complaining it took 3 minutes to get a beer. One stand out was Giorgos the waiter; I’ve rarely met a person as charismatic and good looking as myself so to meet my sparring partner was a real pleasure. Seriously; he made us laugh every night and is clearly a ninja in making people enjoy their holidays. Thanks my friend. ‘The Hill’ - it’s called exercise, deal with it. Look on the bright side, after your holiday you’ll have toned legs. ‘The Beach’ - it’s amazing, don’t spend all your time at the pool. Go early to the pool, lunch down on the beach then soak up the afternoon sun in the sea. ‘The Wasps’ - yeah there are wasps, and sometimes they are annoying. But, you’re in an amazing resort, you can sit inside if you want, you can book dinner a little later (they chill out after 830pm) and you can use something called insect repellent. Oh, and it’s not the hotels fault; they are a naturally occurring species. ‘Corfu Town’ - Spend a morning and an evening if you can, the taxi is easy, and the restaurants are amazing. It has an amazing vibe, with some cool shops to explore. It comes alive around 9pm and feels amazingly safe. Take the kids, drink Athenian Spritz and enjoy your holiday. ‘The Food’ - it’s an all inclusive, so anyone complaining about the food is either on a different planet or should have gone to a 5star. We loved the food and some nights the themed (Italian, Asian, Seafood) catering is a really nice break from some of the more standard cuisines. ‘In Summary’, amazing hotel, amazing place, amazing people. So spend your time having an amazing time. Last tip, rent a boat from the adjacent hotel, and go off on your own for a few hours and explore the coastline. Swim in crystal seas, teach the kids about the sea, being a pirate and swimming with fish. Thanks to all who made our time special. See you again at some point. All the best, The Entwistles.

My daughter and I visited mid May and we could not fault any aspect of our holiday. We stayed in a twin bedded sea view room on the first floor of the main building. Rooms are well equipped and spotlessly clean, air conditioning was quiet and efficient although we didn’t need it at night. Bathroom was small with decent shower over bath and all necessary toiletries. It was great having the mini fridge topped up daily with water, soft drinks and beer. Beach - the highlight of our holiday, it is a beautiful beach, clean, sandy, calm and peaceful with idyllic views. No problems getting a sunbed. Excellent buffet at lunchtime, huge choice of ice cream, crepes and waffles. The sea is wonderful to swim in and my daughter did paddle boarding. There is a steep but short hill from the main hotel to the beach but a car runs every half hour if you want a lift back up! Food - the main buffet restaurant offers a wide variety of quality food at every meal including plenty of local choices with indoor and outdoor seating and a lovely ambiance outside. We also ate at the hot stone Italian restaurant and the Asian on the beach, both were excellent, the service was outstanding. The food in the Asian restaurant was particularly good especially the starters and we had a really lovely evening there watching the sunset. There was also a lovely patisserie in the main lobby after lunch serving small cakes, tarts and chocolates which was a real luxury and something I have never seen elsewhere. Drinks - we loved the terrace area next to the bar overlooking the pool as they played very chilled jazz music and the cocktails were some of the best I have had…made to order and served in appropriate glasses, no premixed juices or use of flavoured syrups. The Prosecco was very good as was the house wine. Spirits were premium brands. We also went to the wine tasting and there were several bottles of local wine you could order at no extra cost with dinner which I highly recommend. Pool - much has been said about the dreaded reserving of sunbeds but quite why people want to sit round a pool when there is such a beautiful beach is beyond me. Entertainment - low key possibly as it was the start of the season, there was a particularly good jazz band and we enjoyed listening to the entertainment from our balcony which overlooked it. It always finished by 11pm. Staff - they really are some of the kindest, friendliest staff I have come across in many years of travel and nothing was too much trouble for them. Thank you for helping to make our mother/daughter holiday perfect and we very much hope to return in the future.

We were a family of 5. We got to the hotel and after waiting around for 30 minutes, staff told us due to a current residents “leg health complications”, we had to move hotels for our first night and in the morning (quote) “we will see about moving back to the original hotel but can’t say for sure or when this will be”. So we were taken to the sister hotel Eva Palace. we were to stay there until told otherwise, so we couldn’t unpack or properly relax. We ordered drinks and they never came. Our passports were checked twice by each hotel which took a long time. After waiting another 30 minutes for the staff to check our passports at Eva Palace, we were then told by Eva Palace that our room was not ready and we needed to wait again. We were told this was an “upgrade from The Daphlina”, but it was quite the opposite. This hotel is outdated and not 5*. The Daphlina was much nicer. We were escorted to lunch and as soon as we sat down we were told our room was now ready so we had to leave our lunch before eating. When we finally got into our rooms, the bags we’re in the wrong rooms so we had to go and get the correct bags. After 13 hours of travelling this is not how I wanted to spend the first day in Corfu. The worst part… we have paid for All inclusive PLUS for the Lux Me hotel, however we are not offered this at the hotel we have been put in. Therefore we do not have the option of A La Carte dining (something we specifically look for) as the A La Carte we’re closed. We also don’t have free minibar (also something we look for in a holiday). Also, not all the drinks are included in our paid price. Although, we have paid for this premium service at their sister hotel, and is was not our fault that they had to move us. We had to get transported to the original hotel and the taxi came in 2 cars, which was very confusing because our family of 5 arrived at different times to the hotel we had booked to stay in. Finally, one of the hotel staff accidentally let it slip that the Lux Me Daphlina Bay double booked us, so the health complication was a complete lie. Furthermore, this happened to 3 more families (with young children) and they also had to move hotels due to overbooking. We tried to book into their A La Carte restaurants to eat each night and we were told that because we didn’t book them the day we arrived, we were too late because they were all full. However the day we arrived, we were moved straight away to another hotel, with no knowledge of when we would be back, so this is not our fault and we were told we could not eat in the hot stone restaurant. This being said, the hotel did offer us a complimentary meal in Corfu Town… with the transfer, meal and drinks all included. For which we were extremely appreciative. However, this was just a restaurant owned by Grecotel, not an extremely large gesture. The good: Fresh water pool which is clean, tidy and deep at one end. Fresh towels daily (although only 1pp/day) Large sandy beach and calm waters Beautiful views from the lobby/bar/pool areas Live entertainment (subtle but amazing music such as cello, piano, saxophone and a singer) and canapés brought round every night which was a lovely touch. Rooms were modern and clean. Clear seawater with no crabs/jellyfish Lots going on down the hill towards the beach, a bar, 2 restaurants, a crepe house where you can get ice cream, water sports (paddle boards, pedalos included in all inclusive, jet skis and other motorised water sports and boat hire at extra cost but well worth it) Fine dining restaurant was great. The food was average but with a large wine selection and exquisite views, I can’t complain. We couldn’t get into the Hot Stone restaurant as apparently it was the most popular but it smelled amazing The tavernaki Greek restaurant was brilliant, situated right on the beach, we had a great table overlooking the waves and the food is authentic and delicious. The Asian restaurant had sushi, fish and lots of other great dishes (however most ingredients were frozen) The buffet is located for breakfast, lunch and dinner next to the lobby (the food is above average for a buffet) The Asian restaurant by the beach also doubles as a buffet restaurant for lunch but is very busy! There’s a pingpong table, 2 pool tables and a every small pool round the back of the lobby which is a great place to relax Extensive cocktail list and wine menu and staff always make sure people relaxing in the bars have a drink to hand! There’s a kids club and volleyball court down by the beach The spa looked great but we didn’t get chance to use it Brilliant wine tasting experience Staff are (mostly) helpful and kind. The down sides (apart from the one mentioned at the start of my review): It’s extremely hard to get a sunbed by the pool. I had to get up at 7am and only just managed to “reserve” (with a towel) the last sunbed. People were going down at 5 or 6am to reserve sunbeds, then going for breakfast and not returning until 11am. This left is mostly sat on the floor next to the pool whilst unoccupied sunbeds were next to us for hours. This is why we mostly went down to the beach. There is a shuttle service to the beach every 30 mins (which is a golf buggy). However it’s only a 2 minute walk down to the beach.. it’s uphill that’s a little struggle! The beach is very overcrowded and by mid-afternoon it’s impossible to get a sunbed or a place to relax. However you can take a short 5 minute walk to the Eva palace beach which was quieter. The breakfast buffet was good, but the same thing every day.. so by the 5th day I was pretty bored of the same old food. A slight change in menu would be great. We did ask for the hotel guest services to arrange a taxi to the imperial hotel so we could have lunch at the Yali seafood restaurant, this never happened and we never heard back. We also asked the guest services if they could arrange a boat trip for us, again, this never happened, so we did it ourselves. You have to book every restaurant you want to eat in, I’d do this when you check in, to avoid disappointment. As we were moved between hotels on our first night, we missed out on this and had to eat in the same old buffet for a few nights which was a disappointment considering it wasn’t our fault we couldn’t book dinners on the first night. The guest services staff didn’t seem to take responsibility and just said we should have pre booked. There are A LOT of wasps around especially at breakfast bud also at lunch and dinner (mainly in the buffet restaurants). At one point we had around 8 wasps around our plates of food. For children especially this isn’t great. I understand this isn’t the hotels fault, however they made no effort to get rid of the wasps with fly paper etc. there are also a lot of cats (for anyone who’s allergic). I personally didn’t mind this. Overall, a decent holiday (once all was sorted with the hotel mix ups). More food choice / room in the restaurants, more sunbeds and better customer service is needed.

I stayed here with my family at the end of July. I’ll start with the good points first - the property as a whole is lovely and the main hotel lobby is impressive with plenty of seating to relax, a large lobby bar that does a good cocktail and some attentive wait staff. There are a couple of pool tables that take 2 Euros - you may or may not be able to break a note at reception depending on who you speak to. The views out over the pool and bay are fantastic. The beach is great - the shade from lots of olive and palm trees makes for a pleasant place to relax. There is a water sports office at the beach where you can hire pedalos, jet skis etc and an ice cream and crepe bar got a lot of use from us. The pool is very nice but as others have noted you’ll be lucky to get a lounger. The food overall is average but there was plenty of it, reasonable choice at the buffet and you won’t go hungry. The a la carte restaurants weren’t as good as hoped. We ate at the hot stone restaurant one night - I had lamb chops that were thin and burnt quickly on the heat and the whole setup just covered me with spitting lamb fat so I had to get my clothes laundered the next day - hardly the relaxing experience I was looking for. They had a kids menu though and my son enjoyed his dinner. The Greek restaurant by the beach wasn’t so great, we were driven out of by wasps. As others have noted this is a bit of a problem here and I’ve never seen so many wasps at an outdoor restaurant anywhere else. On the plus side what food I managed to eat was great. There were a few negatives - the family garden room we booked was a big disappointment and I felt quite misled by the management photos. The interior was tired and dated. The second room just had two narrow beds ( no bedside tables or lamps) , the main room was simply furnished and poorly decorated. The bed was a simple sprung mattress which was damaged (springs gone on one side) and which I complained about the following morning. The reception staff told me they would deal with it immediately and then proceeded to do nothing despite me reminding them later in the day. Eventually it was dealt with at 9pm after four phone calls and two face to face reminders over the course of the day (housekeeping tried to turn the mattress over first but that was clearly not viable when they saw the state of the underside). We also tried to book various outside activities but there is no proper concierge to speak of and while there was a guest services desk it was rarely staffed. The staff did not seem very knowledgeable or able to offer anything other than a very limited choice. Overall the whole stay was fairly average. The reception staff in particular seemed undertrained although there were a couple of older staff who clearly knew what they were doing. The rooms definitely need work. I probably wouldn’t stay here again but with some effort (and possibly a few more better trained staff) the place could be really good.

Amazing week spent here. Great service- staff efficient and really friendly. Fantastic range of drinks- cocktails, mocktails, milkshakes, smoothies, coffees, wines and spirits. Chilled atmosphere Tasteful Clean Lovely pool, sun loungers and views. Not many loungers but enough for the size of the pool. No strict dress code Loads of activities- yoga, water polo, tennis, stretching, volley ball. Amazing food at pool bar and buffet restaurants. 4 other restaurants to choose from-our favourites were the Greek tavernaki and the Asian which were both on the beach with amazing views. We stayed in the main hotel and the rooms were lovely- really spacious and clean. Beachside location was fab- loads of sun beds, shade, ice creams, crepes and waffles. Pedalo, paddle boarding and kayaking complimentary. Lush poolside bar with amazing cocktails Great choice for breakfast at the buffet Waiter service poolside for food and drinks Patisserie!!!! ❤️ Top of the range outdoor gym Beautiful indoor bar with waiter service and any cocktail imaginable. Chilled entertainment Only downside was no aircon in indoor gym and not being able to jump into the pool as one particular lifeguard wouldn’t allow it! When she left at 6 the fun began! Would definitely visit again.

We stayed in this wonderful hotel for a week in July and having read some of the previous reviews wondered what we'd let ourselves in for. However, from the minute you are welcomed by the amazing staff and see that veiw for the first time we immediately felt relaxed. On reflection we agreed you have to put things into perspective. The world has been through some terrible times over the past couple of years and it's amazing how places have managed to remain open, let alone provide the holiday experience it seems some expect on here given the gripes. Yes the hill is a bit steep, yes some of the rooms are a bit tired. Yes the sunbeds do get reserved quickly. But all of this can easily be overlooked given a lot of the positive things about this hotel. The staff are all (Yes EVERYONE) an absolute credit to the place. Nothing is too much trouble and they do everything with a smile. They are all clearly very proud of their country and happy in their work place and their standards are the best we've experienced. The location is breath taking. The veiw is worth the holiday price on its own, as you sip a cocktail in the evening and look over the Albanian mountains across the sea at dusk. The food is excellent for an all inclusive hotel. Plenty of choice and plentiful helpings. You won't find a better standard of drinks options (on offer all day across the whole hotel). Beach is superb, lovely clear blue ocean and the perfect depth and temperature. The bay location makes it very still without much current. The general atmosphere is very good, everyone was respectful and happy to be enjoying a holiday at last and conscious others were too. Nowhere ever seemed overly busy despite the hotel being full and nobody seemed to be that bothered with a short wait if needed. Some have complained the pool wasn't very kid friendly, but personally we thought the right balance was struck between harmless pool fun and over the top behaviour (bombing, splashing, slipping etc). I will only list the positives as it seems the people that like to find fault in everything have already mentioned negatives, but the best advice I can offer is do your research in advance and make sure you follow the good advice by other travellers. Book the other restaurants in advance, app is pants but you can whatsapp or email the hotel in advance and they will respond almost immidiately. If you want to spend the day at the pool get up early and reserve a bed. Take some citronella bands and\or spray for the pesky wasps (although they weren't too bad we thought - maybe as we took both so they left us alone). Book the wine tasting experience, it's great! If you do have an issue, just ask instead of moaning about it. Our eldest daughter found her mattress a little hard. We mentioned it to reception and it had been swapped for a softer one within an hour!! Please continue to support ood hotels like Daphnila Bay as these people really need us now more than ever. Special mentions to Karmela by the pool, not all heroes wear capes but she is definatley ours. From dusk till dawn, 7 days in a row, ready to serve cool drinks and snacks with a smile. Gergios the waiter with his excellent sense of humour and constant jokes and quips. Angelika in the main restaurant not much to say except brilliantly attentive and happy each and every morning. We've probably missed quite a few but these 3 stood out during our trip.

We stayed for a week with 3 kids (2, 4, 6) and overall had a lovely time. The staff work very hard and are very friendly. Our measuring stick was an all inclusive resort in Dubai so against that it missed the mark in a few areas but was still a very enjoyable holiday in a beautiful place. Would recommend. We hired a pedalo, children enjoyed a couple of sessions at kids club (down by the beach). The evening entertainment was enjoyable, good live music at the pool area. Like with any hotel, a few areas for improvement: We booked a seaside view bungalow and had no seaside view, they offered to move us but the new one also didn't have a seaside view, we paid about £300 more for this view so that was frustrating I would encourage prospective guests to look at traveller photos of the bungalows, we were a bit disappointed, it was darker and a bit tired compared to the marketing on the website and the bathroom was certainly in need of renovation. The hotel did nothing to manage people reserving sunbeds at the pool, we saw some people setting up on the ground because they couldn't get one! It didn't bother us too much as we spent a lot of time at the beach Food could have been a bit better, for instance the Hot Stone restaurant which has a lovely location (serves food on a hot stone) is all previously frozen which was a bit disappointing. The shaded pool area looked a little tired in places, rusting railings etc. We found that pool useful for the children to escape the sun but honestly it was a bit depressing and the floor was so slippy it was dangerous We would have liked to see a bit more of an effort to recycle. The hotel are keen that guests don't change towels everyday supposedly for that reason but then seemingly made no effort to be environmentally conscious in other areas. The drinks cups for the bars were non recyclable and there was no separate bin in the room for water bottles, the resort must get through a lot so seemed like it would be an easy step to take.

I have to start with saying just how wonderful all of the staff are from the moment we arrived late on the Sunday evening, we were greeted with friendly happy staff, who couldn't do enough for us. We stayed in a family bungalow. The beds are so comfortable and the room and balcony with a sea view, absolutely spotless, even a mini bar and fresh fruit basket well stocked on arrival We spent most of our days by the beach which is absolutely beautiful and so relaxing The children spent the week popping into the Pancake bar the staff here are so patient and really lovely with the children The kids club was perfect , my 8 and 5 year old spent the week popping in to do various activities with Anna, who is an absolute asset to the Grecotel!! She was so great with the children, and we liked that it was very relaxed, so the children didn't feel trapped. We could always see them from where we were on the beach and they could see us, Thank you Anna, you gave two parents a couple of hours peace each day!! priceless!! We ate in all of the restaurants, we pre booked one week before Greek, beautiful setting and amazing food and service.Staff were super helpful, some really tasty wines to pair with our food. Asian, again wonderful tasty food. Hot Stone, probably our favourite, brilliant staff, food and service. Adult only restaurant, (we had a babysitter arranged from reception) Lovely food and again very relaxed great wine list too! The Evening & Lunch Buffet restaurants were fabulous!

We stayed here for a week at the end of July. We had booked a bungalow with sea view, but that wasn’t what we got. I notified reception and they were very good and moved us two days into our stay. The room was very big and clean, huge bed and large bathroom. We ate at the Hot Stone, the Taverna and the Asian (which was my favourite), the rest of the week we ate in the buffet restaurant. Food in general was good. The service was brilliant, we never had to wait for a table despite the hotel being full, and drinks were served really quickly. All the staff are brilliant and it runs like clockwork. We didn’t even try to sit around the pool. It was always full, but the beach was so beautiful and the heat less intense. The sea was warm, and sunbeds were never a problem. The hill from the beach back up to the hotel is a killer when it’s 38 degrees. You can call the shuttle from any of the staff at the beach bar though, this is a great idea when you’ve gone for dinner in one of the beachfront restaurants and spent time getting ready. Without the shuttle back up, you end up looking like a hot mess 😳 We took the water taxi from the hotel to Corfu town, I’d definitely recommend this in favour of the bus or taxi. It’s a great experience and works out cheaper than other forms of transport. The only things I’d change would be more sunbeds around the pool, and perhaps utilising the beach bar on an evening for entertainment in addition to that offered around the pool. Wasps are also a problem when eating outside. They’re not the angry type we get in the UK, but still really annoying when eating. I’d definitely recommend this hotel if you’re looking for a peaceful, relaxing holiday with great service and a beautiful setting.
