This is a hotel with great character and it is in a wonderful position with a quiet garden overlooking the hills. The staff are excellent and helped us enormously with an event we were trying to arrange. Santa Pau is an extraordinary town and we ate in the amazing main square at the hotel's linked restaurant of the same name.

This hotel is in a perfect setting with a lovely garden to relax in with a great view. The rooms were very pretty and perfectly clean. We were given a warm welcome by Nuria who took a lot of trouble to inform us about the area and the village. Her English was very good. This is a place to relax...

We stayed at Cal Sastre on a two week walking holiday with Inntravel. The hotel itself was quirky and interesting, much nicer than the usual plastic hotel chain. The hotel sits just outside the beautiful little town of Santa Pau with great views of the walls and towers. This was one of my favourite stops of the trip. Núria and...

Exceptional welcome and continuing helpfulness from the staff. English spoken. Comfortable room. Good breakfast. Linked to restaurant of the same name with excellent food in nearby main square. Santa Pau is largely a mediaeval village. Well situated for walkers to visit the Volcanic Park and see the outstanding local scenery.

We have known many other hotels and, in our opinion, the hospitality of this hotel is unique. It is the second time we stayed at Cal Sastre and we always were afforded a very respectful and warm reception. The receptionist and manager paid attention to every detail in order to make our stay more comfortable. Rooms are tastefully decorated and...

Delightful location. Excellent rooms filled with quirky, interesting artworks and furniture. No soap, water or other refreshments in the rooms. Be prepared to have to lock up the hotel yourself after 21:00 when the proprietor and staff disappear. If you want a drink after this time, DO NOT, as we did, take a bottle of wine from the bar and...

We had a wonderful stay at Cal Sastre and the restaurant was totally enjoyable. The tranquil and peaceful medieval town was a welcome relief because of the quiet deliciousness of the surroundings. The owners were welcoming and did a marvelous job accommodating our needs..The owners also had a wonderful sense of humor. I would highly recommend staying here.

We have stayed in this hotel 3 times. We first discovered it on a hike with ATG and have returned for the beautiful area (many hikes) and the Cal Sastre hotel. It is so nice to sit on a deck or in the back yard and enjoy the weather and the sound of birds. After a week traveling around Spain...

A charming, rustic hotel in a beautiful part of the world. Our hosts were anxious to attend to our every need, both in the hotel and their restaurant in the village. Lovely late afternoon hours spent lazing in the garden with a drink after a day's walking.
