Tthis is the second time we've stayed in Kefalos and it is the second time we've stayed at the Athinoula. Regarding what we look for in a hotel it ticks most of the boxed. Impeccably clean, staff who go above and beyond the call of duty, not particularly expensve, fantastic swimming pool and good location. The hotel has a bar...

I am quite happy to go on holiday and stay in basic hotels but Athinoula was beyond a joke. The staff were unfriendly and the owner was the grumpiest man I have ever met. Good old fashoined manners can go along way, simple please and thank you's would have made a difference. To top it all off you will have...

It makes me wonder because I dont know what some people expect - if you want 5* then pay for it!! We returned from Kefalos yesterday having stayed a fortnight at the Athinoula on B&B basis and found it a great place to stay in a great location. I wouldnt say the owner Zak is unfriendly, his english isnt brilliant...

Basically a ten night stay here was 10 nights too long. Kefalos is beauitful, but if you do NOT want a freezing cold swimming pool, their greek children using the pool and shouting from one end to the other, playing football on the dust, the family watching greek films in day time blaring out whilst your sun bathing, no atmosphere...

In 6/08 I visited the Athinoula several times over 2 weeks,& was always well received. So I booked a week there this year & have just returned (home from Kos). Your reviewers from last year seem to want the earth. The inclusive breakfasts are basic - but what can be expected for the pittance that the hoteliers are left by...

i read some of the reviews for this hotel before we went as it was a last minute booking due to the cancellation of our cosmar holiday with excel airways. so it was with some trepidation that we arrived at the hotel athinoula. however we found the hotel was excellent. certainly the cleanest hotel we have ever stayed in unfortunately...

When we arrived they didn't even have a record of our booking so we had to wait ages for the miserable old man to finally find it. The hotel was noisy so it was difficult to sleep. The aircon was expensively extra and more noisy. And as for the 'breakfast' - well, since when did B&B accommodation mean bread and...

On arrival, having been diverted from Kos to Rhodes because of weather we arrived at the hotel later than anticipated and very tired. We were met by a family member 'Zac' possibly owner in what I can only describe as a 'hostile manner`. The following day we attempted to exchange pleasantries with 'Zac' and experienced a similar response, same thing...

Recently returned from this hotel, , with my husband and teenage son.On arriving, we were given a small room with 2 single beds, and a flat sofa bed. The owner said if we decided we didnt like it, he would change it in the morning, when another came available. It was too small for us, so he kindly changed it for...
