The inattentive staff got our order wrong, and in the end we saw we were also charged for an extra plate we had requested for our child. Not even an “oops” for their order mistake. This is just lazy and greedy.
Very comfortable beds, very clean, very friendly staff, thoughtful and there to serve you in a way that makes you feel welcome and comfortable. I would have rated excellent if there weren't the dogs - even in the breakfast room! - and the noise heard from the other rooms. Still I would recommend this place because price/value/location/service is very good.
We spent two nights at the Hotel Murten. One thing that jumped out at us was the super friendly workers and the willingness to serve. Every person we met that worked there (except one that didn't speak English) was very outgoing and looking to help us. They served my wife some of the best gluten free bread she has ever had as well as giving her one as we left. The breakfast is very nice and they also have a Sunday brunch that they told us we could eat at without having to pay the standard 39 Swiss Francs for. It's location is ideal and close to the Old Town as well as the beach front. The only downside, like so many other Swiss hotels, is the high cost. But all in all, a worthwhile place to stay.
In the middle of my stay in my home for two weeks. Quaint hotel in a quaint little town. Restaurant and bar is excellent. Manager and staff are all very friendly. Around the corner from City Center, lots of restaurants, and the water. Love it here.
Hotel room was large for Swiss/European standards. The room was clean and comfortable. WiFi worked well (as one would expect). Breakfast wasn't expansive but was perfectly fine and better than average for a 3-star establishment. Front desk was able to accommodate a slightly late check-out, which was appreciated -- as was the free on-site parking. Great location.
Stayed two nights with a group of 29.Nice to stay at a hotel with a full bar. Good breakfast, tiny bathroom, no sink area for toiletries - you will need a HANGING cosmetic bag, comfortable bed / the blow dryer was not good, our room had a balcony which was nice.
I was there for 2 nights, and I paid 300€. I think our room was one of the largest in the hotel with ikea furniture. There was a 2 twin beds with only a folded duvet and a dining area. It was not addapted for wheel chairs, because there were some stairs to access the bathroom and the dining area. The bathroom was old (but I believe it was somehow renovated) and it had a bathtub, which was too dangerous to step out from there. The water was either too hot or too cold. The weather was hot, and the room had no AC. The hotel provided a fan, which was not enough to get the room cooler. At a first sight, the room seemed clean, but when I look closely it was dusty and there were some stains on the carpet. The breakfast was poor (some bread, cereal or croissant with packed jam , cheese or ham). Coffee, milk, tea and juice available. Most of the staff didn't speak English but they made an effort to communicate, trying to understand my Portuguese and my poor French. I think I left a trimmer over there, I sent a message and I 'm still waiting for the answer. All in all, too expensive for the service and room they provide. …
Stayed at Hotel Murten during a business trip, and was very happy with my stay, nice restaurant, good bar for a nightcap, and nice comfy rooms. It’s a charming hotel, with a very helpful and attentive staff! Really hope to come back one day. Lovely little city and Hotel! Can definitely recommend to stay here!
We spent one night at Hotel Murten. The Family Room was very spacious, beds very comfortable. Bathroom amenities were great, and complimentary water was a nice add-on. Breakfast was excellent. Great location, a few steps from the old town gate, close to Migros and other commerces. Free private parking, which is a big advantage over other hotels inside the old town if one's driving. Highly recommended.
Let's clarify this from the beginning: there is nothing fancy about this hotel. But it does the job. I was nicely welcome, given a big room and proactively helped during my stay. Breakfast was all right. And this he hotel's bar is well known in Murten. So while there is not much to write home about this hotel, there is a good chance I'll chose it again should work bring me back to Murten.
