Samyama Retreat is located 1 km inside the jungle, accessible by a dirt road from the main road and just 3-4 minutes walk away from Serene Cola Beach. This place is entirely removed from the hustle and bustle of urban life, nestled perfectly in the heart of nature. The retreat is built on a hill, and the rooms are purposefully scattered rather than clustered together. Privacy was a key consideration when designing this space, and we wanted to create a tranquil and intimate environment for our guests. Since the property is on a hill, guests need to walk down 110 steps to reach the restaurant/rooms, which is situated on the riverbank. However, all the rooms are located close to the restaurant, so you won’t have to navigate the steps frequently during your stay. We’ve provided proper lighting along the pathways, and we have a secure parking area for scooters and cars. With just seven rooms, the parking area is serene, not like the bustling lots you’d find in the city.
Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travellers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.
If you are looking for a very special place in Goa, in the lap of nature, this is the perfect one: nestled in a small jungle valley above a quiet river, it is abonding with plants and birds. You can enjoy seeing wild peacocks from your veranda, or a monkey through the roof window, or a lovely tiny red frog... The cottage has everything you need for a few days in nature, the bathroom is spacious and clean, everything works, hot water arrives after the little while it takes to flow down from the solar installation. The beds are very comfortable, bedsheets spotless clean. Electricity and WIFI are working well. The restaurant is higly recommended: food is delicious, so fresh, and made to your wishes. Cola beach is a lovely small and unspoiled beach. You can also walk up to Sunset point or, a little further, to Agonda Beach. Your host Vipin is an amazing and lovely person: so genuinely friendly, very reliable, answering your online questions sometimes even within minutes, and truly happy to share with you the paradise he has created - let us just mention that he has planted more than 5 thousand (!) plants on his compound... We particularly liked how respectful he is of nature. All in all a most happy experience that we can wholeheartedly recommend - everything is even more beautiful in reality than shown on internet! We will surely come back!

A wonderfully forested property along the lagoon at Khola beach. The rooms are very comfortable and spacious, the food is very good and the service excellent. Though it is not a beach facing property, the rooms with generous balconies overlook a beautiful lagoon. The access road to the property is not so good and the property itself is unsuitable for people who cannot walk or climb easily. . Definitely recommend it to anyone who enjoys quiet green location a short walk away from the beach.

Had a lovely 3 day stay at Samyama resort. Cabins spacious and clean. Vipin and his team cannot be more helpful. Food excellent. Vipin treated us to a local dish for pur 30th wedding anniversary, so kind. Tea/coffee served on the balcony in the morning.. Short walk to Cola beach which is beautiful. The fresh water lagoon is great to dip your feet in to cool down after a day on the beach or sightseeing. Access to the resort can be difficult, cars are unable to access due to the rocky dirt track..our taxi dropped us off at wrong carpark and had to pay 500 rupees to local for a 6 min bumpy ride! The Samyama has a relaxed calm atmosphere surrounded by nature. Property is built on a hillside with lots stairs to access the various cabins so not for any individuals with mobility issues.

This is clearly mentioned in our property details. To make things easier, we offer pick-up and drop-off services through our taxi drivers at standard rates, ensuring guests don’t incur additional costs compared to hiring a taxi elsewhere in Goa. Secondly, due to the natural geography of the area, there are stairs to navigate down to the rooms and restaurant. This too is mentioned in the property description. However, once you are at the resort, guests will find all the rooms conveniently located close to the restaurant, which is situated along the riverbank, minimizing the need for frequent use of the stairs. A perfect place to hide from your noisy city life! Several small houses lost in the jungles, with freshwater river flowing nearby. Singing birds in the morning, beautiful butterflies and monkeys jumping through trees over your head, trees and flowers around: nothing will remind you about city life. Yummy and huge servings, attentive and helpful staff, clean bedding and towels help to spend vacation without any inconvenience. Rooms are comfortable, but bathrooms are basic - but reasonably have everything required. In the evening we had a personal movie theater at the cafe - host and general manager Mr. Vipin has Netflix, YouTube and other services to choose from for comfy cinema evenings.

Hard to put into words what a wonderful experience staying at this place is . If anyone is looking for a once in a life time experience at a unique jungle destination this is the place for you . The quality of the food is the finest I have tasted in the whole of Goa . If you like your food in a particular way just let the the host Vipin know and the chef will do his best to cater to your needs. On that note Vipin is an absolute flawless host , who caters for his guests every need. We were overwhelmed at the excellent hospitality and warmth provided by Vipin and it was clear to see he consistently provides the same level of service to each of his guests . Also it is very easy to find the place as Vipin can book a taxi with a firm who will drive his guests through the jungle right to the hotel reception ! 11/10 on every front .

I absolutely loved everything about this property! It’s like a little jungle paradise, but just a few minutes away from the lovely Cola beach. (via walking a shirt dirt road, or kayaking the stream!) The accommodation is basic, but very comfortable, with a balcony to chill on. Waking up to the sound of birds, and seeing monkeys jumping through the trees was incredible. The host, Vipin, is wonderful, and super helpful, answering the many questions I threw at him- even before I arrived. He and his brother both took me out on their scooters, so I could see some other beaches and a fort. We even managed to find out way onto a fisherman’s boat for sunset on the water, which I’m so grateful for! As a solo female traveller, this made a world of difference to me. All the staff were super lovely and helpful, and the food was delicious also! Try the chicken (or veg) Lababdar- soooooo good! I had an absolutely amazing stay, it really felt like a home away from home. I cannot wait to go back! Thank you, Vipin and crew :)

It was a nice experience in Samyama Retreat, it was 1 day stay with nature, a river view, working in the tree houses, the best food, and the first time I tried cashew juice which was tempting.
You will find a lot of birds around the place. Wake up in the morning by the chirping of birds, the beach is also within walking distance.
Overall, should say everyone visit this place to get refreshed !!

Easy to find, but difficult for some cars to go all the way on the last dirt road part. When you arrive you are met with a tastefully designed flower packed garden and restaurant, by the creek that runs past. People can stop for coffee when out paddling the blue lagoon or you can padel to the beach yourself. Loved it! Hope there will be yoga here in the future. Also want ro add that the food is excellent and lots of fresh fruit and vegetablesv

The best place we have stayed in India. Vipin is very attentive and kind, and the rest of the staff are helpful and polite. The hotel is in a secluded area of the jungle, but only a few minutes walk from the beach. The food was outstanding, and we felt very relaxed during our stay. Vipin was able to organise transfers to the airport, and was helpful in giving us tips on where we should visit. Would 100% recommend to anyone visiting Goa!

We just went to the restaurant for food and drinks but were so charmed by this location! If we were to go back, would absolutely include some nights at Samyama. Vipin (the owner) and his brothers have made such a magical jungle retreat. They were all so welcoming to our toddler. We loved kayaking up the river here to get cold drinks (the sweet lassi was delicious!) and snacks. It was such a pleasant place to spend the hot afternoon in the shade of the jungle. We saw monkeys and a peacock.
