Our arrival after a long drive from Auckland Airport, was met with astonishing peace and tranquility. The property is amazingly beautiful set high in front of a wide body of water, situated next to a farm with roaming cows. A grove of fruit trees that ripen in season along with its own garden patch with plenty of greens brighten each...

I travel to New Zealand for work each month, so I am always looking for those boutique stays to relax, recharge and get out of city before Monday comes around! This property was absolutely amazing - I stayed in the Pavilion, and I didn't want to leave. Natalie and Ross' hospitality is simply fantastic - they have thought of everything...

We stayed in the Pavilion at Waipiata to celebrate our anniversary. We were struck by the beauty, peace and serenity of the place. The accommodation is outfitted to a luxurious standard. Although Waipiata is only 40 minutes from Auckland you feel a million miles away. Hosts Natalie and Ross are warm and welcoming without being obtrusive and go the extra...

It has all been said in previous reviews, and can stand repeating. The Pavilion is gorgeous: well equipped, luxuriously appointed and in the best location. Natalie and Ross are helpful and generous hosts, and could not have done more to make our stay enjoyable. We can highly recommend Waipiata and would visit again.

This is truly a wonderful and unique place to stay. The location can feel pretty remote while driving there the first time. However, the house and grounds are extraordinarily beautiful, very much a labor of love of the hosts Natalie and Ross. They transformed this property from grazing land to a natural, native wonderland over many years and we enjoyed...

Thank you for taking the time to write a review of Waipiata. This is a little tardy but we are really pleased you enjoyed your time here. It is certainly a remote destination although just 40 minutes from Auckland and 20 minutes to the nearest shop! You were delightful guests and we and Zorro, our maitre'd ,enjoyed having you here...

We stayed at Waipiata for just one night in March 2012 (although we've since booked to return for a longer stay next year!) and it was wonderful from the moment we arrived. Natalie and Ross are gracious, generous hosts, who couldn't have done more to make us feel at home (in their home!). They provide the highest level of hospitality...

If you are planning to enjoy any of the small accommodations that New Zealanders refer to as Lodges, you should reserve Waipiata Lodge for your final destination, as all others will pale in comparison, even at four or five times the price..literally . Ross and Natalie Aitken have built an architectural masterpiece in the modern genera in an idyllic seascape...

This is just paradise! We stayed for three nights at this beautifully situated property which is definitely an architectural highlight of New Zealand! The hosts are unbelievably friendly people and the level of service is unheard of! The lodge is extremely well maintained and spotless like it has just been opened.
