We spent 2 months working from Capella and 2020 has redeemed itself :) Working by the pool, working with the cats, working on the swing, working while spotting the Paradise Fly Catcher, working with the background hum of rain on the tiled roof ...it was working from heaven. With easy access to the Las Viegas supermarket and a bouquet of fun restaurants, the perfect pool and cabana, Ayesha and the always cheerful staff @ Capella has made us fall in love with this special home stay. We’ll be back for round three in the monsoons !

Our recent stay at Capella has probably been our best holiday in Goa so far, a beautiful home with so much character, warmth and aesthetically designed. Ideally located with restaurants and the beach just a short drive away, although on most days we were just happy to stay in and soak in the beauty of the home itself! The hosts Ayesha and her son, Zal both extremely warm and wonderful hosts made the stay an absolute joy. The food and maintenance managed by an extremely delightful staff, always cheerful and happy to help! Capella is a must stay for groups of friends or families wanting to hang out together and yet have their own private space. Highly recommended!

Capella is a rare find! Beautiful home, super hosts, gorgeous surroundings. Ayesha (the owner) and Zal (her son) are very special people. They’re always available when you need them and yet so discreet that you forget sometime this is a homestay. We stayed here on a month long workaction with another couple and enjoyed every bit of it. The house and rooms are kept impeccably clean by Seema and Riyaz who stay on the premises. Location is perfectly placed to explore all the amazing restaurants and shops in Goa. The 3 cats (Muffin, Simba and Lily) and their dog Elsa added much joy to our stay. We celebrated Diwali here and Ayesha went out of her way to make it special for us and our friends. Loved every moment of the time that we spent here. Can’t wait to come back!

When planning a trip to Goa, I inadvertently find myself checking availability for Capella because, really, there is no other place to be. This home and its homeowners (Ayesha and Zal) have spoilt me over my last three visits - so much that none of my future Goan adventures will be complete without a few days' stay here. Hidden away in a little arboreal cove, the house rests on a hilltop, surrounded by the most breathtaking flora and fauna. It's hard to tell that pretty much any popular place you want to visit in North Goa is a mere 10-20 minute drive away. I find myself torn between exploring the many sights of Goa or staying in and soaking in the beauty of the home itself. Soulful nooks present themselves, beckoning you to curl up with a book (that you can pick from Ayesha's enviable collection) and sip on ginger tea, surrounded by sounds of the forest. And then there are three adorable felines (Muffin, Lily and Simba) and the wise canine (Elsa) that you find hard to leave. The gorgeous infinity pool urges you to stay indoors. I have had the fortune of staying in pretty much every room in Capella, each with its own memories to take back as souvenirs. My favourite, though, is the dreamlike master bedroom upstairs with a larger than life stone bath. Once in a while you come across a place during your travels that creates a dilemma for you. I want to keep this big, beautifully carved slice of heaven all to myself but happiness like this deserves to be shared. So for whoever is reading this, do yourself a favour and experience Capella for yourself. It's the home you have always wanted to have.

There is a reason for the title, and it's obvious that Capella has had a hold on us since we spent 24 days here in June 2019. We spent another 20 days in the year 2019 as return guests in August, and thereafter in October. We returned in early March 2020, as part of a bachelors trip with friends, without the bachelor. And we jumped at the opportunity of being Ayesha and Zal's first set of guests after we realized that Capella was reopening. COVID precautions are absolutely top notch. Sanitizers everywhere. Regular cleaning. Ayesha (the wonderful owner, and now dear friend) would ask after every little detail, to ensure that things were as they were from before. Zal wouldn't complain about being bothered at 11.30 pm as to mundane questions about where the cheese is kept, or what switch to turn on in the kitchen. The best part about the property is that the limited number of rooms, which are all far apart from the other, are airy and allow for cross ventilation. So there's little/ almost no fear of a lack of physical distancing. It is your choice to eat at the common table, or at separate places. Most importantly, you are left to your privacy, and can spend your time here with zero interaction with co-house guests/ other human beings. The stay here was magnificent as always - with Seema and Riyaaz (replaces Manjeet) ensuring a clean house and even cleaner rooms, and the fantastic breakfasts made by Maria. A new addition to the breakfast - pancakes with stewed apples, was fantastic on a hangover with fresh poi (local bread). The awesome threesome of cats - Simba, Muffin, and Lily were a treat to run after to catch and cuddle after a long day of exploring Goa. Elsa's warm sounds would indicate that a visitor is afoot. We are eagerly looking forward to be able to return in February 2021. I mean - we are eagerly looking forward to home in February 2021. :)
