We loved staying at the Macal River camp at Chaa Creek. It was rustic but clean and the food was great. The caretakers take great care of you and are very helpful. Docio and his wife really make this place excellent! You can use the swimming pool, bar and restaurant at the main resort which is a 10-15 walk through... More

It was great and we hope to stay at Chaa Creek again. The staff was wonderful, grounds beautiful and the day trips perfect. We went on birding trips, hiked, relaxed at the pool, horseback rode, took a canoe one mile into a cave under a mountain.

Staying at Chaa Creek was a special experience. Each morning we enjoyed the bird walk with knowledgeable guides. We saw toucans, owls and tanagers plus many more species all within a few steps from our room. The concierge also arranged a guided tour of the nearby Mayan ruins at Xunantunich, a Mayan cave tour at Barton Creek, and river canoeing... More

My family and I truly enjoyed our stay here last month. We did the ATN tour, we went horseback riding we took an early morning birding walk. We hiked around the trails on our own. My husband mountain biked. We went canoeing in the river. I did not feel as some other reviewers have noted at all nickeled and dimed... More

Chaa Creek is an excellent jumping-off point from which to go to the various activities that inland Belize can offer (archaeological cave exploration, Mayan ruins, unique zoo, zip lines, etc.). The camp consists of a number of one-room cottages with canvas roofs that are on a raised platform, and close tight to where there no critter, large or small, can... More

It was. The rooms are beautiful and well appointed, the grounds are spectacular so make sure you spend time there, and every guide... More

I stayed at the Macal River Camp at Chaa Creek and HIGHLY recommend it! Not only did I absolutely love my little cabin and spent more than one wonderful afternoon laying in my hammock, but I cannot speak highly enough of Dulcio and Francelia and their family who are the caretakers and do the cooking at the camp. They were... More

My friend and I stayed 4 days. It is a lovely place, and we had a pleasant time...but... when trying to make the reservation, after we conveyed to the reservation personnel via email that we would like to reserve a particular accomodation, after a delay we were informed that the requested accomodation was not available. This happened a couple of... More
