I spent few days solo here last week while I was exploring the beautiful jungles of Assam. Sol Village has a lovely rustic feel that connects with you instantly. The accommodation is comfortable and pleasing to the eyes. The rooms are super clean and offer the patrons an opportunity to glimpse into the local life. Agoratoli Range also knows as the Eastern Range was Kaziranga National Park is not very far away from Sol Village. Sunny the owner has done a fab job with the place and is a passionate wildlife himself with truck loads of knowledge in his domain. The food is excellent and the staff are very friendly. This place is safe for solo females travelers and I would highly recommend his place.
Sol village is an eco-camp run by a naturist Sunny. Its cozy and very intimate with nature. Food is cooked from the Organic garden grown within the campus. Conveniently located near the eastern range of Kaziranga.
I have seen many different places after travelling all around Europe, Australia and several parts of Asia. But Sol Village was outstanding, honestly one of the greatest places I've ever been to. First of all, you should know, that this is not a luxury, five star hotel. But for me, it is closer to perfection than the fanciest resort could ever be. You are completely surrounded by nature. You wake up in the morning to the sound of all kinds of birds, you step outside your room to find freshly grown fruits, vegetables and different plants all around you and there's probably a cow or a goat looking straight into your eyes from across the fence. You are just a five minute walk away from Kaziranga's famous national park, where you can see rhinos, elephants, deer, buffalos and with a lot of luck a tiger. The people living in this area are warm-hearted and will probably welcome you into their home as well! We were staying in the little, round hut, which is absolutely beautiful and has everything you need. The feeling inside is wonderful, the beds comfortable and everything super clean, just like home. Home, that's what we - me and a friend of mine - called this place for a few weeks, as our travel plans got messed up by Corona and we got stuck there. So I really know what I'm talking about, when I recommend this place. In all this time, Sunny, the owner and greatest host I know, did everything to make us feel comfortable. Something, that was most important in this weird and uncertain times. He taught us pretty much everything about Kaziranga, it's animals and the culture. We went for walks, planted flowers, harvested vegetables in the garden, fishing and paddeling in the pond, did some cooking, made bonfires and BBQs (also, the best chicken I ever had!) and even went on a boat safari. Just to mention some of the activities. Don't hesitate to ask, Sunny will try everything to make your stay as great as possible. The absolutely best thing about the place is the food. I never had, and probably will never have, anything like that. Every single dish was so delicious, it's hard to describe, you just have to try it! It's perfectly cooked with home-grown ingredients, a lot of love and constantly varying. There would be so much more to say, but have a look by yourself. Sunny, his staff members and two dogs are waiting for you. So go for it, book an unbelievable stay, you will not regret it!…
The resort is located close to Arogatoli gate to Kaziranga Natural Park. The host, a very knowledgeable park guide, offers an all-inclusive package in which is included safari, waterfalls and botanical garden drives. Sol village is very close to the park border and immersed in little rice fields with little cows, goats and children browsing around. You get a good view on local daily live. The hat we got was spacious with private toilet. The food was just right for our palates. The spices were just hinted. The host cooked delicious dishes with local produce.
Sol village is tastefully built right on the outskirts of Kaziranga. We really enjoyed the hospitality that we received. Sunny, Dhyaan & Nanda made us feel special helping us all our requests :) Food was amazing as we barbecued in the bonfire & had stuff fresh from Sunny's farm. Our jungle safari with Dhyaan is worth a special mention, as we stayed in the jungle patiently for a large portion of the day without any concern. Highly recommended.
