Family trip booked at Davvi Artic Lodge with Transun December 2016. Following a tragic event the hotel, Transun and their staff in Lapland and the UK were unable to recover any of the Christmas magic that we envisaged on this trip. Imagine taking your two...More
We visited The Davvi for Christmas booked with Transun and we had an amazing time. The lodge was really warm and cosy, the food was lovely and homely and all the excursions were really well organised. It was the trip of a lifetime, we had...More
This was one of the best holidays my wife and I have been on. A week in this beautiful setting with lots of friendly staff and guests and activities that we have never tried before (or are ever likely to in the Uk!)
We undertook our Northern Lights Arctic short break with Transun in late February.
The lodge we found to be mostly satisfactory: our Aurora House room was very comfortable with a stunning bathroom, warm and with plenty of space. Issues with the room: the fire smoked...More
We had a cabin and I thought it was very good, comfortable bed, large room with plenty of space for clothes and a comfortable sofa. Good shower and fab sauna. Room very warm, but just turned radiator down and was fine, good porch to leave...More

Our extended family went in December and all three cameras 'Lumix' worked fine, you do need to keep them inside your clothing to prevent them getting too cold, in a pocket for example. If you keep them too snuggle up though they will have condensation on them when they are exposed to the freezing weather. My son in laws smart phone worked ok but my older apple phone packed up after half dozen photos. Bear in mind that you will need two pairs of gloves to keep your hands warm so you are very restricted and the all in one they give you covers you head to foot and you don't want to unzip that to let the cold in. There are pockets though you can use. The battery life is not good so be prepared to re-charge often.
Honestly though we didn't have any major problems, we took hundreds of videos and photos using the camera and phone. I was the only one that had problems with my old phone and it recovered once indoors.
Have a brill time. It's an amazing place to visit. My small grandchildren had a ball, and their grown up parents too, they reverted to kids again going down the toboggan runs. ENJOY!
P.s. The best thing we took with us was a balaclava, I scoffed when I read to take one but it was the best item of clothing we bought. A cheap bikers one off Ebay, £5, that worn under a hat kept our head and face protected from the wind and cold, especially when driving a snowmobile.

Take Euros, even for spending in Sweden, or a credit card (or both). A bottle of wine costs about 30 euros, a bottle of coke is 3, pint of lager is 6. there are a few shops nearby which sell trinkets (20 or 30 euros will get you a few souvenirs) and a museum nearby which costs 3 euros per person. All excursions, etc can be booked through credit card and cost around 100-120 per person depending on what you want to do (if anything) The most expensive thing is the ICEHOTEL (optional excursion, highly recommended). 3 drinks in the ice bar cost 40 euros, but worth the experience.
I hope this helps, but let me know if you have any other questions.
