We were advised we would be contacted with a code to gain entry to the hotel. This didn't happen. We logged 3 phone calls to the pub. They're message bank said they would return the call. This didn't happen. We caught a tram to where the pub is located on our first day in Melbourne (Monday). It was closed on... More

Second time i have stayed here and once again left happy. The rooms are clean and easily accessible at all hours. The bar has an excellent selection of craft beers on tap and the restaurant did not disappoint. All staff were friendly and helpful. Will stay here again

But having no mobile and... More

Room 8 looks on to the roof in the centre of the hotel where the old clapped out refrigeration unit turns on and off all night, complete with squealing fan belt, the compressor coughs and wheezes into life and clatters away for hours making it unbelievably noisy. Even with earplugs I doubt you will be able to sleep. Other than... More

Baden Powell Hotel provides budget-priced accommodation outside the CBD. Rooms are functional, clean, and reasonably secure (one keypad lock on street door and on hotel door). Dining area and bar on floor below means a lot of noise until closing time (11.000 week nights). Reception is at bar and also closes at 11pm. Trams run both ways on Victoria Parade... More

Spent a pleasant couple of hours at this old style pub, about 15 minute walk from MCG. Has the qualities of an old bar from yesteryear but with some of the new craft beers to choose from. Even some music from the 60's like Cream drifting through the background amongst an eclectic seating arrangement from lounge chairs to dining tables.... More

I stayed here whilst having a long holiday on the cheap with a friend (backpacking trying to avoid hostels). Needless to say this place was clean and ample space for what you pay. The only difficulty we had was checking in as we arrived late Monday night after a 24 hour trek from London. We hadn't received an email prior... More

This was the first time I ever had a windowless hotel room, the air conditioner was effective but rattled constantly; mould in the bathroom facilities and the 3pm checkin time is OK but anyone arriving earlier is not exactly welcomed...., staff aren't on site much of the time. there are much better accommodation options in Melbourne, I couldn't recommend this...
