We recently chose the Rosevale Retreat Hotel for a rustic Sunday lunch... BIG disappointment. Although the food looked appetising and the meal size was large, it was stone cold. We asked for it to be heated up but it became flavourless and unappetising. On the good side, the Hotel has a lot of rustic charm, the staff were friendly and... More

Today we decided to visit a favourite place for Sunday Lunch so set off for the historic Rosevale Retreat Hotel. We hadn't visited it at all this year and after today won't be visiting again. We arrived at about 12.30 and on previous visits the place has been heaving. Not today. There was only 1 other couple in the place. This... More

We had to wait for well over an hour for our 4 meals. The first to come out were 2 Rump steak, chips and salad meals which were supposed to be medium rare. Both were extremely well done steaks and tough. Both meals had cold to luke warm chips which were showing signs wilting and my mushroom sauce and the... More

We left Brisbane New Years Day for a drive to the hotel for lunch. After the recent rain the country looked like Ireland; beautiful and green. As we arrived at the hotel it looked untidy from the outside and from there it only got worse. The bar was hot and no fans or A/C. The beer garden looked untidy but... More

It is tucked off the main road about 10-15 minutes, but well worth the travel. Ignore your satnav if it tries to turn you down the "Old Rosevale Rd", while it will get you there it is about 80% dirt road and narrow at times, a big rig will fit through. If comming from Brisbane, stick to the bitumen and... More

Just an hour or so out of Brisbane we arrived on board a privately chartered tour bus for a Xmas in July luncheon. Sitting practically in the middle of nowhere with that sort of, on the way to outback ambience that we aussies know, I was excited to spend the day in the country away from the hustle and bustle... I saw an ad on tv for free camping at the Rosevale Retreat Hotel and thought it would be perfect for taking my 10 year old son camping. The hotel asks that you have a meal there in return for free camping which I didn't have a problem with. After driving about an hour from Ipswich where it got more... More
