This is a unique weekend getaway in Pallivasal. The property is on a slope. And the uniqueness starts with the reception at the top floor and rooms at the bottom floors as we move down the slope. The hotel is surrounded by tea plantations making it a perfect spot for an early morning walk to witness the rising sun from the mountain amidst the tea plantations. The room is luxurious. Consists of a king size bed, a couch, a study table. The breakfast is buffet type and was delicious. Tea maker is available inside the room. Washrooms are well maintained and fitted with all required facilities inclusive of hair dryers. There is a lawn with seating arrangements. There is a spa inside the hotel.
Overall this is one of the best hotels to spend quality time with your line loved ones. Very friendly staff too. Highly recommend it.

First time I was traveling to munnar and the bed of nature was awesome here. We have chose this hotel on the basis of reviews and prices. The check in was very professional with herbal tea and juice. Hope the herbs tea is from munnar local garden its taste well. Food and service are good. House cleaning team asked us personally about room cleaning and they did it so well with some towel art great. Only one suggestion is please do something on road it's need immidiate first aid. May be hotel can request with the government team. However we all 3 enjoyed our stay here and surely will come back.

Thanks to each one of you. You guys made our stay wonderful. Planning to come down again on July during our next vacation. Bye for nowww...

The room is clean and well arranged. The cleaning of bathroom needs improvement (the side of the commode close to the shower was dirty). There is a scope for improvement of room service (the drinking water is received after the reminder and the tea kit received without milk pouch).
The area is very quiet, well arranged and staffs are very friendly and smiling.
Few areas may be looked into which are
The cover was loose of the kettle with milk shake and during the process of pouring the milk shake, the cover had fallen off causing spillage of the content. The vegetable soup was salty and few felt it as very hot. Considering different types of customers, it is suggested to prepare with normal salt and may be salt and chilly paste be provided at the table so that as per the customers' taste, same can be added by them.
Camp fire was well arranged and location was good. However power supply was switched off suddenly at 2300 hrs and complete area became very dark. The movement of personal were difficult but luckily nobody was injured. If the switching off the power supply, by existing instructions of the organisation,is at 2300 hrs, it fine. But I feel the necessity of informing or reminding them 30 minutes and 15 minutes before the switch off the power supply (even though prior information may have been given).
Morning walk was well arranged and accompanied by Mr Sarath. He walked along with the team, explained the areas including water fall. Additionally he took extra care to ensure the safety of the team as well as treated the team with tea and coffee
WiFi strength was very bad and really it is a frustrating experience

We stayed for one night on New Years Eve 2019. Check in was slow, as there was one girl at the reception desk trying to check us in, while getting continually interrupted by other guests and their questions. The room was actually very nice and clean, overlooking the garden where the New Years Eve dinner/party was held. This is the only reason I am giving it 2 stars.

The negatives: the food was terrible, both at the buffet dinner and at breakfast the next morning. We each paid 5000 indian rupees per person for the "New Years Eve party/dinner" and we all felt ripped off! Being alcohol free was not a problem, but it didn't even include soft drinks!!

The food was barely passable, tasteless and horrible. While the setting in the garden looked lovely with the lights set up, it was a trip hazard, and several people did trip on the uneven surface of the grass and concrete slabs where the tables were set up. While the band and host was very energetic, the sound level was way too loud, and everyone soon disappeared back to their rooms by 10.30pm. Tellingly, people reappeared again 10 minutes before midnight, to see in the New Year, which showed that people went back to their rooms to get away from the terrible din!

Breakfast the next morning was a shambles, food was not restocked, and again, of poor quality. There was no juice in the dispenser when we arrived at breakfast, and was never topped up during the whole time we were at breakfast. Uncleared tables and plates left everywhere. When we went to check out, we asked if someone could please help us with getting the bags upstairs, the girl at the desk said "no problem", but no one ever came, so after waiting 15mins, we carried them up the stairs ourselves.

The Management at the hotel really need to lift their game if they wish to welcome international visitors. The staff we encountered were pleasant and trying to do their best, but the staff lacked direction in a lot of areas, which should have come from Management. There should be no excuse for uncleared tables at breakfast that guests have to clear for themselves.

I was in Munnar 10 years ago and stayed at a small boutique hotel which had outstanding service and food, which makes me NOT EVER want to return to a big resort style hotel like Devonshire Greens, where I did not feel like a welcomed guest!

We visited Munaar, from the 20/12/19 to the 21/12/19, what a beautiful scenic and serene countryside and thoroughly enjoyed, the tour sites, hiking through the tea plantations and mesmerized by the mountain and lake views and cascading waterfalls.

However the hotel was a disappointment, the staff (day shift) at the reception desk were quiet inattentive, not sure it stemmed from a language barrier, yet the dining area staff were excellent.
We requested a room with a view which was granted and grateful for, however what we didn't realize was the beautiful scenery from the room came with the smells wafting in through the french door from the cow pen below . I assume that some wouldn't mind but for city slickers this didn't go well. The reception should sensitize the guests regarding the cow pen prior to allocating the room.
It is understood that the area has a lot of rain and is damp at most times, management should service the rooms prior to allocation, nothing is worse than entering and smelling dampness which cannot be covered by sprays.
The setting of the hotel is excellent, one can take leisurely walks through the tea plantations, breathe in fresh air and take in the the scenic beauty.
The hotel needs some TLC, especially after the monsoons, otherwise its just a matter of choice and budget for new guests

Recently got to stay in this hotel with family. If you are travelling with kids below 7yrs, please be aware that this hotel does not have kids play area or any spacious lawn area for that matter.

Room was not spacious enough for 3 people, so if you are planning to go for a triple room then re-consider your options. Same goes if you have back pain or similar issues, the mattress is too bouncy.

It looked like house keeping probably was short staffed. They did not bring the extra towel for the 3rd person or the other requested services unless we reminded them twice.

View from the room balcony and reception area was nice, helpful staff but the service standards and overall maintenance of the property makes me wonder about the 4 star classification.

We thought it had the wow factor when we first got there. You arrive at what looks like an english pub, which is in fact the reception area. The hotel is actually 5 stories built down the hill "overlooking" amazing tea plantations. So far so good!

The rooms are quite modern with a nice balcony - which leads to the first problem. You can't actually see the lovely view because of the row of 5 story eucalyptus trees right outside. They are also fairly noisy in the wind - being so close. I hate the thought of destroying trees, but why are they still there???

The evening buffet was sparse (not many guests?), and the service in the restaurant left a lot to be desired. We were not offered a drink (no alcohol as with many hotels in this region but there must have been a selection of soft drinks), we were offered a nan bread to go with the vegetable curry but this failed to arrive. At breakfast they took an order from myself but not from my wife whilst we were both sitting there!

We sense a lack of staff training, which is bourne out by the general cleanliness and lack of maintenance, with marked walls and peeling paint in the common areas.

Such a shame as it could have been, should have been, a stunning place.

The views from the balcony are great. Great landscaping as you enter the property. Location is little remote, but that seems to be the norm for good resorts. There is a water fall you can walk to about 2 miles or 3.2Km away. My opinion is that the staff is polite and helpful. There are a few items I found not meeting my expectations and hence a rating of 3 stars.

The room seems a bit dated. The mattress is definitely too soft and worn beyond useful purpose. Breakfast is so so in variety and quality and service a bit slow. Four pillows were hard and too big; we slept without pillows the first night. I had asked the cleaning staff to clean the room on my way out around 11, but it wasn’t when we came back at 3:30 pm. Perhaps some miscommunication. However, both issues were promptly and politely addressed. Someone has mentioned that there is no shampoo in the room. That is not true. They have both conditioner and shampoo.

We booked two rooms for two nights, due to lockdown all places were closed hence we stayed one night only. The hotel refunded the amount after a few days.

The place is slightly offroad, and before Munnar town. It's near the TATA Pallivasal tea factory. The temperature of all guests was checked upon arrival.

Tea/Coffee maker and free bottled water were available in the room.

The basic room facing the valley offered initially to us was quite small in size, upon pointing this to the staff, we were moved to another room facing the mountain which was better than the first one.

Staff service and room service food were good.

The wifi speed was low, still functioning.

Room service is available and good food. Slight warm running water was throughout available. The restaurant was closed during our stay.

Overall a pleasant stay during the weekend lockdown time. It was raining during our trip, still, we enjoyed our short break. Mr. Rony and the front office staff were very cooperative.

Had a good time at Devonshire. The resort is at a good location, just a few kilometres from Munnar town, and was fairly easy to navigate to when i and my family came from Kozhikode.
The property had adequate parking space with security.
Front desk staff were very helpful and the check in process was smooth.
Suite room is nice and spacious with a decent view. There is a lawn right outside but no direct access from the rooms besides jumping over the fence.
Room service and food was quick and good.
There are a few facilities and activities arranged by the staff, all decently maintained.
Breakfast buffet is good. We got late on our way back from sightseeing in the morning, and the staff were kind enough to arrange breakfast for us at no extra cost.
Food overall is quite good. There are only a limited number of items, however, they are mostly well made
The resort is also close to Attukad waterfalls which is a short walk from the property.
Overall, a good experience at the place. Definitely worth staying.

I believe the valley view rooms do have a balcony. I must say that our room had an amazing view across the valley. I would suggest emailing the hotel directly to be absolutely sure.

hi, The Hotel is quite far from the main town and not accessible on foot. The location of the Hotel is very good and has a very good view and one does not miss the main town. The food is excellent. It has a large lobby and a recreation room with TT and Carrom. The is also a small garden for children to play. I think the kids would enjoy here.
