This is a clean and modern hotel in a beautiful location. The views from every window are stunning. We were greeted wonderfully at the door on arrival. Everyone was welcoming and very pleasant.
Every day there are demonstrations for things like cooking and chocolate making. We also enjoyed the complementary Tea Time. The fire dancer was spectacular!
The room was spotless with a clean bathroom and nice towels. The beds were soft, but not too soft and the bedding was of a good standard.
We did have a couple of small issues with the room. The soundproofing was not great, the piped music from the hallway was playing on repeat. We asked the front desk to turn the volume down and they did. Also our room was right under the pool deck area and we could hear chairs moved around above us. The windows were also single-glazed which let in a lot of heat when the sun was shining. The AC did not kick on at any time... we suspect that it was deactivated because the weather was cool.
There was a small issue with heat control in the shower. It would go from cold to hot seemingly at random. None of these issues were severe or would prevent us from returning.
The restaurant was great. We ate breakfast and dinner there throughout our stay. The food was of a high quality and there was a huge selection. On our first night the server forgot to ask what spice level we wanted and they served food with very little spice, while we prefer normal Indian spice levels. That was a minor thing that was not repeated.
Getting sealed drinking water was a bit of a struggle. They normally serve filtered water... which isn't the same as sanitized water from a sealed container. We've previously had a bad experience elsewhere with water that was self-filtered and will only drink bottled water in India now.
We loved the pool. It was heated and had a spectacular view. It was a real high point for us.
We wouldn't hesitate to stay at Blanket again and I would recommend this hotel to Westerners or Indians.

Our stay at Blanket was very memorable on many counts. As we checked in the reception crew made us feel welcomed by floral garland and tikka. The process of check in was smooth and we were on a great start. There was a scheduled maintenance of the main lift so we took the “Service Lift” which gave us sour feeling. As we entered our room there was an awesome view of the Valley and Water Falls that made us mesmerized for few moments. The room had old furniture and worn out mats and dirty bathrobes. We were not happy with the feeling it have. We called our Travel Agent to inform the low grade of up keep of the property. Within 10 mins of us reporting, the General Manager Mukesh came to the room to address the concern. The Housekeeper Manager instantly started replacing the old / dirty ones with new ones. We brought to their attention the bath which gave dull feelings. Mukesh was very friendly and wanted us to give the best stay experience. He constantly ensured to make the 180 degree shift in the positive experience we get from our stay. Mukesh did his best to constantly check with us throughout the stay and the chef made frequent visits to our table to give more attention to us. Next day Mukesh shifted is to the Presidential Suite with no increase in the rates. The entire staff at the restaurant, the lobby, the room service, were pleasant and courteous. Special compliments to Shekar who was very attentive to minute detail. We will come here again and again. The positive attitude of the Manager is important. His desire to fix the problem and give positive experience is very appreciated. Thank you to the smiling Staff of Blanket.

We were out on a tour and asked our driver to suggest a location for lunch and we were very happy with his idea to visit Blanket hotel restaurant
The view from our seats at the end of the restaurant were amazingly scenic, although the waterfall was fairly dry due to being March it didn’t matter as it was still a lovely location to enjoy a great lunch. We only waited around 25 minutes for a number of different dishes which were all very tasty and extremely well priced, service was also excellent.
Would definitely consider visiting again and probably to stay too!

We picked this hotel based on its extraordinary setting and were not disappointed. The style is contemporary and it’s been beautifully designed with a huge amount of skill and care. We had a wonderful room with the most incredible views of the waterfall and plantations surrounding the hotel. The bed is super comfortable too. It’s a great base for visiting all that Munnar has to offer. The staff are excellent and can’t do enough for you. A guide will take you on an early morning walk to the waterfall, a complimentary offering we took advantage of. One thing to be aware of though is that the hotel does not have a liquor licence. If that bothers you bring your alcohol with you. There is an older post that mentions a difficult road to the hotel. Be assured, the spur road to the hotel has been resurfaced and won’t cause problems for any vehicles.

Where do I start with…. Upon entry, we were greeted with warm smiles and a traditional welcome by applying sandal bottu on forehead, offering cardamom mala, a bowl of banana chips & jackfruit-jaggery sweet, kattanchaya, Hot napkins to freshen up. From there guided to our presidential suite that was booked by my husband to surprise me. The suite was quite big with a living room and master bedroom. The living room has a dining area, coffee maker, a TV, mini fridge, sofa, hot water kettle and all the required things, a balcony with a forest view and a washroom.
Now comes the best part, the master bedroom. This has a king size bed with a soft mattress and neatly placed pillows, dressing area, a big balcony with an amazing waterfalls view, and the other side of the room has a forest view.
The rooms are well lit with beautiful lightings which adds up to the mood.
The bathroom is neat and clean with jacuzzi for two people and all the needed toiletries neatly arranged and couple of plants placed over. The bathroom fittings are amazing and loved the premium quality showers. The jacuzzi is an amazing experience.
Other add ons such as high tea, fire dance, spa, were all fantastic!!
The food at the restaurant is of great quality and hygiene. It’s also equally delicious that we looked forward for the breakfast and dinner. Restaurant staff are quite hospitable and friendly, were prompt with their services.
There is another surprise planned by my husband, a candle light dinner, and our bed decoration with roses on the last night of our stay. All these have been beautifully done by the hotel staff and we were much happier with their services.
Candle light dinner was lovely with amazing arrangements, great food with a wonderful background instrumental music. Food was served with exceptional care.
The front desk staff were so warm and loving, that they made us feel at home.
A special mention to Front desk staff- Ms.Archana, Ms. Angel, Ms. Anitha, restaurant staff- Mr. Bibin, Ms. Brinta, Ms. Nikunja, and kitchen head Mr.Sonu. Thanks to you all.
Overall it’s an excellent experience at Blanket Hotel and Spa, Munnar. Looking forward for our next stay!!!

Overall good hotel - the checkin experience was awesome with the banana chips, the jackfruit chips and the jackfruit snacks and the drinks.
The hotel room was also good and obviously the location on the side of a cliff is pretty fancy and you can walk to the waterfalls on the nature walk. I appreciated the different events that they had - we enjoyed the Fire and Ice show, there was an actual fire involved!
Our safe wasn't working and we called the front desk for help at least 4 times but no one ever came back and fixed it for us. We felt that the staff was also selective about who they wanted to help and assist (at the lunch or dinner). The chef purposefully ignored us when he talked to every other table so... other than that, the location and the view was great. we had a partial waterfall and it was pretty amazing!

We stayed in the Presidential suite for 3 days. The room and place was well maintained including prompt and hospitable responses from the staff and room service whenever availed. We also enjoyed the rooftop restaurant, recreational area and the calming spa. All the amenities are impeccable and highly recommended Blanket for your next stay. The room is clean The balcony is wonderful and overlooks the amazing landscape The food is delicious But I will talk a little about the employees When you order anything in the room, you will get it after half an hour or an hour, and you have to call the staff repeatedly to get what you asked for. On the first day, I ordered dinner in the room, and on the second and third day, I went to the hotel’s restaurant for dinner On the fourth day, I was surprised that the restaurant called me to ask me whether I would eat or not! Also, the next day in the morning, I was called by the restaurant at least 3 times for breakfast and they disturbed my sleep! When I checked out, I was very busy and wanted to call the driver. My husband is one of the people who gets confused and suffers when checking out of the hotel because he is afraid of forgetting something and is always thinking about the road. The receptionist rudely requested my phone to enter the Trip Advisor website and write a good comment! This was a lot of pressure and embarrassment for me. I have some friends who will visit the hotel soon, and I will ask them about their experience, and if they have the same comments, we will look for another hotel on our next trips.

The hotel is beautiful and comfortable, and the view across from the waterfall is amazing
I suggest separating the gym room from the rest of the rooms
A great place for families to stay
I hope that the issue of reducing the price of rooms and clarifying the location of rooms overlooking the waterfall will be taken into consideration
I thank all the employees for the service

The service, the place, the view, the cleanliness everything was top notch. What made this place extra special is the STAFF. From the receptionist to the restaurant staff till the masseuse in the Ayurvedic treatment made our trip there a memorable one, oh not forgetting the guy who guarded the pool side, even though it’s just me and hubby chilling outside , he played amazing songs for us and that’s really lovely. This kinda small gesture made our day. The staff really made sure that we are comfortable and attend to us at anytime with a smile on their face. We even had a small chat with the receptionist before we left. They take time to send us off, waved goodbye and waited till they can’t see our car. You won’t get this kind of thing at any hotels but this hotel did. It’s an experience you will never get else where. Their Ayurvedic is worth a try with a reasonable price. It’s hygienic and very professional. Instead of opting out, can consider the Ayurvedic in Blanket Hotel. They also have many complimentary for their guest such free tea time, fruits at night, yoga in the morning, morning walk with guide, and fire dance. Only thing is that I wished they could add some of their food menu to more on authentic Kerala dish other than that even the food price was reasonable to us. The food taste good though. The staff in the restaurant wore gloves and kept their face mask on all the time. Blanket Hotel & Spa had our hearts. Loves and hugs to all of them there. Missing them already.

Best view rooms are the ones with balcony with 180 degree view. There are two on each floor and I believe they call them honeymoon suites. These rooms have a large balcony overlooking the falls and the river and a gorgeous sunrise from the mountaintop. I don't know the exact room number but if you call the hotel they should be able to tell you which ones offer the 180 degree view.
The only thing you need to decide whether to choose an upper floor or the lower floor. I think that is a personal preference. We stayed on the upper floor and loved it.
"Tourist taxis when booked through the hotel, could take about 30 minutes to get there. Plan accordingly. And if you plan to eat out at night, you'd need a vehicle."
