Having no idea of how to get to the Amazon Jungle we were fortunate to stumble across this group that organise adventure tours into the jungle. They collect you from the hotel and transport you via boat deep into the Amazon. It is a very rustic setup but that is what it is all about. If you want fancy accommodation...

short version: It was great experience. The team is very friendly and the food is good. I'm actually surprise on the quality of food, we expect much lower :). Fishing expedition was fun, we end up catch more fish than we can eat so we release some back to the river. The only disappointment from my group was that we...

Thanks for your kind remarks and we welcome you to return anytime. Next time you have to stay a little longer as two nights is not enough to see everything. I have let the lodge owners know about your comments on the mattress and they are scheduled to be replaced this fall.

I recommend this lodge for a great wildlife adventure. It is somewhat remote, but it is the best wildlife experience in the area. I visited some of the other nearby lodges, but the available tree canopies there were not nearly as tall. A lot of the area upriver from the lodge is basically unexplored territory. The hike to Yarina Lake...

From our arrival in Iquitos City, met by our fantastic guide Wilder, we experienced nothing but fantastic service, wonderful travel, great food and amazing scenery. On the 4-hour boat trip Wilder explained what excursions would available and we decided on what we wanted to do each day. The actual Lodge was remote and and beautiful. We settled in our rooms...

Amazing. This was not my first trip to the rainforest. The lodge is modest, but the quality of its guides and the nature experience is outstanding. It is the last lodge on the river Yanayacu, making the experience authentic. And this is why we travelled so far. We had a guide called Wilder, who is an inhabitant of a local...

We are very happy you enjoyed the Amazon Refuge experience. Wilder is an excellent guide who takes delight in catching Anaconda, Caimans and various snakes for you to take photos and release. We just need a few more clients to enable this project to be self-sustaining.

We were looking for a remote location where we could experience the true Amazon jungle. A 4 hour boat ride from Iquitos did the trick. Our interests were primarily birdwatching but we wanted to see any and all local wildlife. Our guide, WIlder, was very enthusiastic and skilled at finding and identifying birds and other wildlife. We could go out...

Unfortunately, we were unable to go to this lodge due to flooding in the area. The US contact, Mr. Bob Todd, was extremely helpful and accomodating, and he did the very best he could wtih a bad situation. We were told about the flooding well enough in advance of our arrival, and so we had time to make alternate plans....

The Amazon River is currently experiencing one of the worst floods ever due to glacier melt in the Andes. Amazon Refuge is currently flooded and once the waters retreat we will need to make some repairs before reopening. We expect to reopen by the end of May or early June 2015. In the meanwhile all of our clients have been...

Easily the best experience I've had in South America so far. Putting a freshly caught alligator on the barbecue whilst camping in the amazon was as much jungle as I could possibly hope for. Wilder was an amazing guide; very knowledgeable and he did everything he could do to please us. Oh, and the fact that he can catch literally...

Tom, Thank you for your comments! So glad you enjoyed your stay and your kind words about Wilder have been passed on to him. We are working on making the bungalows cleaner by installing new tiles in the bathrooms with non-slip floor tiles. We have a double filtration system in the kitchen for washing dishes with cleanliness in mind always....

Wilder is the full package! He is enthusiastic and eager to show you his native home. He is very knowledgeable and he uses all senses to find the object that he wants to show you. We were thoroughly challenged with different tours daily. Wildlife is abundant and we were spoiled with being the only ones around. Do not come if...
