Not far off the walk is this lovely pub. The grounds are well cared for and inviting to sit outside though the time we were there it was a little cold. The bathroom was interesting but functional. The meals were good and the staff friendly.

We stopped here for lunch. We had the goats cheese salad which was only a starter but filling enough for lunch. I can truly say it was the nicest goats cheese salad I have ever tasted. It includes two slices of bacon which I enjoyed. They did a veggie version for my wife. We would definitely eat here again. The...

Just returned again to The Hadrian Hotel as we know how well we are going to be looked after. We always take our dog and he is so happy to come here as he is looked after just as much as we are. The meals are out of this world and huge! We can't eat another thing all day after...

A spacious hotel which is located in a quite area, offers first class dining, excellent service, a good breakfast and plenty of advice of the surrounding countryside. Car parking is good and in an excellent position for visits to Hadrian's Wall.

Well placed for Hadrian's Wall walkers, we stayed here during our walk. The room we stayed although lovely and big was a little tired but very comfortable. The evening meal was very tasty, plentiful and well priced although again the whole place is looking a little tired.

Well located for Hadrian's Wall. The rooms are a little tired but everything is very clean, there is plentiful hot water and the beds are comfortable. Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful and the owner cares greatly that your visit is enjoyed. Food is a highlight with some very good and well prepared dinner dishes utilising local ingredients. The choice...

I'e been to the Hadrian many times, in fact I got engaged here way back in the sixties when it was a different hotel altogether to that of today. On our recent visit we were served at the bar by the landlord who subsequently took our meal order. How he managed to 'serve' us without speaking one word, let alone...

I recently stayed at the Hadrian Hotel and from the outside it looks very welcoming and had friendly atmosphere. After a long walk doing Hadrians Wall we arrived at the reception where we were met by a member staff who advised that evening meals were served until 8:15pm (We arrived at 7:30pm) so we were required to have a quick...

We'd eaten here before on a previous visit and as it was a convenient spot on our current Wall walk, we thought we'd stay the night. Everything was OK but the place lacked that indefinable 'something' that says "We'll come again." Dinner was a bit desultory, as was service. It all felt as if a little bit more effort would...

Following our 2 week holiday in Asia earlier this year we decided to book a last minute holiday to see Hadrian's Wall with our dog (Ozzie, a 6 year old labrador retriever that thinks he is a puppy, the best dog in the world). We tried booking at a number of hotel chains however they were fully booked due to...
