Detailed Reviews
Hotel room a bit old fashioned, we had a balcony with mountain views, small but clean bathroom. Excellent breakfast, very friendly and helpful family business. One small criticism the beds in our room were a tad firm for us. Dinner in local (100m) pizzeria recommended by Hotel Owner as they were not opening the hotel restaurant until the Friday. Some parking outside hotel. The hotel is ideally located to visit the mountain passes such as Passo Pordoi. Sauna, steam room and jacuzzi available for guests complimentary use, great for relaxing after a busy day!

I stayed in this hotel with my girlfriend. The room and bathroom were clean, the staff very welcoming and kind, excellent breakfast. We also used the spa, the only flaw I have to point out is the water in the hot tub was cold, barely warm in fact we used it very little.

Stayed there for one night on a bike tour. The room was fine, nothing special, but clean and big enough. The balcony was nice.
Breakfast was very good and sufficient.
The bar serves craft beers, which is a big plus! Good location for trips into the mountains.

Our New Year's Eve dinner at this restaurant was a huge disappointment. The food was below expectations, lacking in flavor and poorly presented with very small portions. Despite having assured us gluten-free options when booking, only two dishes were replaced and they tasted terrible. To make matters worse, they could not provide details on the ingredients of the dessert. Dishes containing gluten were not even served. A regrettable experience and definitely not worth the 70 euros per person.

Convenient hotel to several hiking locations. We only used it for one night and that's fine. Price in the norm. Spa included in the price of stay small but enough to relax a po.Personale kind.
We requested early breakfast and were really kind.

We spent four nights at 'Hotel Montanina with half board service.
Friendly staff, excellent both breakfast and dinner, with a large buffet and the possibility of choosing between three first courses, three seconds and dessert. Excellent location to move around

We've stayed at La Montanina twice, once in 2012 and once in 2014. Each time we were on a bike trip and were able to get their junior suite without a reservation. The hotel is in a totally central location (right at the main intersection in Caprile) and it's very clean and comfortable. Their restaurant is one of the best parts: great dinner cooked to order from local produce. The staff were very efficient and helpful and let us store our bikes in their ski room. Great experience!

We were booked into a hotel in Arabba, where we were to meet 120 Snowhead friends. Our bus from Venice Airport got as far as Alleghe before were told that all roads into Arabba were blocked by a heavy snowfall. The Tourist Office found a room for my friend and me in La Montanina in Caprile.
The hotel provided an efficient and reliable service with its shuttle bus, taking us to the ski lifts in the morning and picking us up in the evening. In the basement we found a jacuzzi, a Turkish bath and a sauna, which we enjoyed. The set dinner for hotel residents was generally good, and sufficient for hungry skiers. The room could have been better - the shower was small and there was no mirror on the wall - but the beds were comfortable. Overall the Montanina offered very good value. The hotel staff were outstandingly friendly and helpful.
We never got to Arabba, the avalanche risk kept the roads closed, so we had a whole week in Caprile. If we are there again, we would be happy to stay at the Montanina.

We spent 2 nights at the La Montana and we wanted to stay longer ! Checking in was quick and they were extremely helpful as it was our first night in Italy. The rooms are large, comfortable, and spotless clean. It is within walking distance of anything in town. Breakfast is very enjoyable with multiple choices from meat and cheese to fruit and yogurt. The view from our balcony was breathtaking at sunrise and sunset.
It's a perfect stopping place if you are driving thru the Dolomites.
