The booking for my wife and I was cancelled before we travelled, and despite a lot of chasing we have never had our £400 deposit returned. This was not great news a few days before we travelled. They intially said they would refnd the deposit and sent an apparent transfer receipt - but no money arrived. Avoid at all costs.
It was closed, but that didn't stop them keeping our deposit ($800) It was a construction site. We were told the day before it wasn't available. They have opened since sept 2019, but still no refund for me.
This was our second visit, we came the same time last year. After several weeks travelling India, it's a great place to relax. It's not five star luxury, and the chalets are a bit rustic but very clean, spacious and comfortable. It's right on the beach, perfectly placed for all the Agonda restaurants and other beachfront bars. Food is excellent. The staff are amazing. Prabhat and Manny and everyone else are so friendly and helpful, they are the heart and soul. Thank you! See you again.

I arrived at Jojolapa on 7 February for 8 days having stayed last year. What was my stay like? Absolutely amazing! I was fortunate enough to stay in room 102 - a stunning sea front beach hut. The accommodation was clean, comfortable and well equiped. What made this stay even more wonderful was the staff. Prabhart (I think his name) - head of staff, couldn't have made me feel more welcome. Excellent customer service who went above and beyond and nothing was too much trouble. His staff were all equally amazing. Exemplary customer service and made me feel so very welcome. The food was faultless with plenty of choice. All freshly cooked with the kitchen on view. It was difficult leaving. I left with a huge smile on my face but a tear in my eye as I was sad to leave. The staff at Jojolapa made this stay incredibly wonderful. I love India. I love Agonda. I thoroughly recommend anyone to book your visit here. You will not be disappointed. I noted before I arrived some negative reviews that did cause me concern, namely that the resort was under construction. However management assured me prior to arrival that everything was up and running. This wasn't a lie. I understand the local government had caused issues with many businesses but Jojolapa is ready to welcome everyone. I look forward to returning again in 2021. My wife and i booked this place last year for a holiday later this month . They took £800 of me as a deposit and they have kept it .Holiday doesn't exist and we have had to book elswhere . After an initial contact they have refused to answer any email or the telephone . Give this place a wide berth !!
We booked Jojolapa when we visited Agonda for Christmas 2018. My brother stayed here and we were so impressed with the huts, gardens, restaurant that we decided we would stay but we wanted a beachfront cottage. We pre-paid half the cost but unfortunately this year in Agonda was the year that many unlicensed hotels and many built on the wrong structure were demolished, unfortunately jojolapa was one of those. We heard of this from friends and not Jojolapa, I kept calling, emailing and texting but were getting nothing back so started to panic as we were due to arrive on the 28th December. Luckily my brother was there so he booked us into an alternative place as they had not finished building. We eventually moved into our beachfront hut on the 31st December and the hut was lovely, you can’t fault the beachfront huts. The downside was that the only huts finished were the front 3 huts and the restaurant. The rest of the place was a building site where they were trying to rebuild the huts. This meant constant noise, banging and dirt and mess which was not what we wanted. When we left on the 10th January they had still not finished. The first 3 days we had no hot water and the electric was off more than it was on. The WiFi was also constantly off. I put this all down to the rebuilding. On the plus the staff and waiters in the restaurant really, really looked after us. They couldn’t do enough for us and we ate in the restaurant many times and the food was wonderful. The beachfront huts are the only rooms with sun beds on the veranda so although over £100 per night were worth it. I did ask the Manager for a discount due to all the mess and noise but he wasn’t prepared to give us any money off which I thought was very short sited and not great customer service. I would have given this place five stars but can’t due to all the mess and building. These huts are expensive but are lovely and the place when finished is lovely. I believe they now have a five year license so should not have issues in the future so if you are looking for somewhere to stay on the beach then these are lovely. Maybe next time when customers are worrying and trying to get updates the Management should be a little more proactive.…
We were recommended Jojolapas by another couple we met on our holiday. Wow! The food and service were amazing. Glasses had been cooled in the fridge which made our beer and wine perfect. We were served by a lovely guy, very polite and welcoming. His service was the best we'd had even though everywhere else in Agonda was great service too. The food was amazing from presentation to taste. We had dinner here twice and once for lunch. After our meal one evening we asked if we could look inside one of their huts. They are the best huts we'd seen. Loads of room, storage space and clean. We are thinking of staying on our next holiday to Agonda. We were told about the trouble this season and it was all down to building regulations which is now rectified. I would not hesitate to book here to stay. …
So we had the same issue as many others. We paid our 50% deposit back in May 2019 for a weeks stay 24th January. We had a cancellation note 3 weeks before we arrived. We booked new accommodation at Agonda Cottages next door as luckily they had availability. On our arrival in Agonda we went to Jojolapa 4 days in a row to try and recover our 38,000 INR with no luck. They never intend to give anyone cash back! We asked if we could have our 4 night stay for that exact money instead. They were happy with this unsurprisingly. We stayed in cottage 103 on the beach front. All I can say is what a complete RIP off. Nearly 11,000 INR a night, plus taxes. No hot water, a broken wardrobe, toilet that doesn't flush waste away, half painted, dirty stained towels and rugs, dirty sink, no toilet roll holder, shower with a bucket as only a dribble of cold water from the shower, curtains that don't even cover all the windows, all furniture tatty, no lid on the toilet bin, only room clean every 3 days. Even for Goan standards and especially at £120 a night this is shocking. This us not even a 3* resort. We have had better quality in a £40 a night place here. So after 2 nights we have left and asked for a refund of remaining 2 nights. They have completely ripped usoff only getting 13,500 INR back. They do not seem to care at all about their reputation here otherwise they would be returning peoples money as requested. The bar and restaurant have customers so they are taking money so this should be returned. They need to focus on what they want from the resort, is it just the look from the outside, so lovely gardens and cottages? But what about what you are actually paying for, your room, bathroom, basics!! I would avoid with all costs. There are so many better places on this beautiful beach at a more realistic cost for what they can offer…
Amazing place with great service and the best view possible! We returned to this place and liked it as much the second time. If you go, say hi to the best staff named Mani! He is the best . Thank you Jojolapa for the food, the staff, the bungalow, the dogs, the sunsets... we will be back ! /Andrea & Robert
