The best vegan food on earth. A hidden gem was discovering the Aquatic body Work which is behind Blue planet, up the stairs there’s a warm pool and Dolphin Dan is ready to give you a water treatment. A bit like Watsu which is underwater shiatsu but more relaxing.the end result is total relaxation a feeling of having done Hours of meditation. Very inspirational.
We wanted to stay somewhere quiet, relaxing and vegan friendly for three days between Mumbai and a wedding in Agonda, we could not have been luckier to find this place! The setting is incredible, surrounded by jungle and amazing wildlife but less than a thirty minute walk from Agonda beach (5 min rickshaw for about 250 rupees), the perfect antidote to our stay in Mumbai. We definitely felt like guests in the family’s home, we felt super welcome and they went out of their way to help with whatever we needed. As soon as we left we missed the trio of cats and Libu the dog! We ate about half our meals here, they’re all homemade, healthy and good value, all vegetarian, almost all vegan. Special mention to the smoothies! The accommodation is very basic. We stayed in a chalet which was spacious, had a pretty effective fan, some simple furniture and a bathroom with shower. We didn’t seem to get hot water for the shower and the chalet could probably have used some attention but the view from the little balcony more than made up for that. WiFi is available in the dining area only, it’s possible to get laundry done for a charge and arrange taxis, food is available all day to residents. Don’t come here if you’re in need of any luxury or mod cons but to escape the daily grind it doesn’t get any better than this! …
Me and my husband stayed at the Blue Planet resort between 3rd to 5th November and would like to share our bad experience of staff behaviour from the moment we arrived. We are a multi-race couple (I am British and my husband is Bangladeshi). I would also like to say that we were surprised and disappointed at the welcome we received after reading such positive reviews. We arrived in the afternoon and having finally found one of the hosts (the female host) who moodily called out of the window 'give me minute' we went up to the cafe & reception area. So we were standing in the cafe and the female host quite rudely looked and pointed at my husband and said 'Who is that?' When I queried the host's reaction saying I had previously emailed to say the stay will be for myself and husband she again RUDELY REPLIED "People come in to the cafe to eat all the time so It's common sense I would ask this"!! We were then joined by the male host Praveen who was a bit politer than his wife but told us that due to the location and infrastructure of the resort and steep stairs we are responsible for carrying our own cases up the stairs! He did eventually say that he can take a case if it is not too heavy though. During the stay even though we still ate at the restaurant and were good customers the female host continued to be argumentative with me until I asked 'Why are you behaving like this? We are guests here' I was further SHOCKED at the response given by the property for my review on Booking.com (this can be found on the booking.com website) where they have given a callous and ambiguous reply regarding my apparently 'strange behaviour' which I would describe as normal when greeted in this manner after a very tiring journey from the UK and being tired and jetlagged. For an owner to write that their customer 'is looking really disturb' is beyond belief. Like I say we are still very surprised as reading the reviews of apparently other guests of the warm nature of the staff we experienced the opposite. The only positive was the peaceful location in the jungle…
I really loved staying in this place, we arrived a 6 am without actually notifying in advance since we were traveling from Europe and did not have a phone to call, we were received by the host at that hour, the room was already ready, we would like to thank him for this since we were so tired for the long trip, the hut was comfortable, we woke up in the morning with the birdies sounds, the view from the hit was spectacular, we could see all the nature and trees and some eagles flying, next day we had a wonderful breakfast, it was so healthy and delicious, the smoothies were incredible, the restaurant provides vegetarian home food, I felt so spoiled by the staff. The beach is only 20 minutes walking crossing some short cuts. The attention from the staff was great. We needed a taxi and the host recommended Vincy, he picked up us from the airport and took as around goa while we stayed there, he was a great and responsible driver. …
A great place tucked away nicely but still close to the beach. The food and juices are amasing!!!!! The rooms comfy, clean and nice. Staff was really nice and helpfull. They offer all kinds of wellness treatments like yoga and water therapy. If you are staying somewhere else it is definatly worth going by for yhe food and juices. Thanks for the nice relaxing stay.
