I stayed at Sand Sapphire for 5 days. First of all, this is neither a hotel nor a resort. It's more like a 2-star lodge. So keep your expectations low with the staff as well as the property. Good things about the property - 1) Right on the Agonda beach. 2) Has in-house beach-facing restaurant. 3) Huts are clean and the staff is cooperative. 4) Food was good. Not so good part - [ Reasons to avoid this property ] 1) Huts scream maintenance. Bathroom walls are cracked, which is a big privacy issue. There are better huts available at the same/lesser price next to SandSapphire and they are very well maintained. 2) This place doesn't have a power backup and a refrigerator inside rooms which is a deal breaker for lots of people who wants to enjoy cheap beer. 3) Their sea-facing rooms are not glass covered which could be a problem if you are a light sleeper since at night sea tides get noisy and their ac also make noise. 4) Everything is overpriced (especially if you book online) and that includes in house restaurant also. During my stay I never saw more than 1-2 guest in their resturant and thats because there are better resturants within 500mtr which offer better value for your money. 5) People here (especially in Goa) are more interested in serving the foreigner as compared to local. One can always see that in the staff's attitude and cunning smile. 6) The room in which we stayed doesnt even have dressing table/ mirror. They only provide 1 liter water for 2 person in the rooms. If you need more they wont mind charging you for that ( 30 Rs per liter). They dont even change towel/bedsheets everyday. Overall its a pretty average stay considering the price.

Checked in for 1 day only. The cottage is decent but there was no TV or even power backup, which is surprising for the price they charge. Food was decent, tea was good. They had a hand shower outside the cottage to wash of the sand, was pretty useful which I didn't find in other properties.

This is my second time staying at Sand Sapphire. All members of the staff are courteous and helpful. Rooms are spacious clean en suite rooms. The Sea Facing room I stayed in was perfect, it's built on a raised platform with an amazing view (book early if you want the Sea View cottages). Its right on the beach with an in-house restaurant. Perfect location with friendly staff, Surendar was helpful.

It was a pleasure staying in Sand Sapphire. The ambiance was really great. The Staffs are friendly and very helping. Even though we were late for check out, they didn't charge any thing extra from us. The in-house restaurant is very good and cheap. Overall the experience was brilliant .We enjoyed our weekend getaway a lot in there. I will be definitely staying there again during all my future visits.

A very brief but amazing stay in a beautiful wooden cottage. The food was amazing, service first class, we felt very welcome at Sand Sapphire, Sanju couldn't do enough for us - treated like royalty! can't wait to return.

Once again a perfect time in Goa, enjoying the company of Sanja and his friends this time it was at Sand Sapphire. Perfect large clean room and the view was amazing looking all the way down Agonda beach, plus the fantastic sun set's. The food was excellent lots of choices plus Sanjay will provide other dishes on request not on the menu, nothing is too much trouble. Thanks Sanjay and the boys, can't wait to see you next year x

My wife and i were staying at Fernandez Wooden Cottages in Palolem and Sanjay used to work there but he has moved up to running his own place The Sand Saphire in Agonda. We had let him know we were coming to stay with him for two nights . He was so welcoming we chatted for ages he really is a lovely guy, nothing is too much trouble for him and the accomodation is really nice . The beach is a lot quieter than Palolem but that might suit some people. Altogether a great time we even stayed for three nights instead of two well done Sanjay

First of all, the staff are excellent. Super friendly, helpful and welcoming. Special mention to Chili (Sorry if I got the spelling wrong, mate!) and Sanjay in the beachside bar/restaurant and Samir at reception. The guys run a tight ship, and really go out of their way to make your stay comfortable. We (myself and my girlfriend) stayed here for 10 days and I extended for another week to work (I work remotely). We stayed in the beach facing hut for 2 nights which is stunning and worth the extra fee for a non sea facing hut. You're above the bar, but it was never rowdy or loud at all. Music, lights etc. were turned off no later than 10:30ish each night. We then moved to one of the regular huts (just as nice and still only seconds from the beach - if not even quieter due to you being slightly back from the bar itself). We took non AC for all our time here and it was still fine temperature wise, never too hot. The rooms are spacious, wifi is actually pretty good (they have wifi at the bar and then separate wifi for the rooms - I switched between both) except for the times there were power cuts. This happened frequently during our stay but apparently there was work being done on the main power lines so the whole area was affected. Food in the restaurant is good - we mostly ate breakfast and lunch on site and then wandered further down the street to where the main hub of restaurants were for dinner. It's about a 15/20 minute walk to the main hub of restaurants, but there are a selection within minutes from the accommodation that are also perfectly fine. We sampled both. For us the only negatives were 1) The walls in the cabins are super thin, so if you have noisy neighbours at night you can hear their conversations as if they're in the room. Most of the time this wasn't an issue, but one night we actually had to go in and tell them to keep it down when a crew of 5 were screaming at 1am next door. 2) The power cuts were annoying for me as I needed the wifi to work, which was frustrating, but not exactly the accomodation's fault. Fan's etc. also obviously stop working once power goes. This only usually happened during the day and not at night so we had no issues sleeping. You'll probably find cheaper places in Agonda but for me the service is worth paying a little extra for. Last thing I'd mention is remember you're in India, so negotiate your room price! It was pretty empty when we were there, so I was able to get a discount due to that and also for staying for a longer period of time than just a few days. Sidenote - I received no AIRTEL signal for the entire time I was in Agonda (as in - no signal, fullstop). My gf was with Vodafone India and she able to find pockets, but again, definitely not reliable. Just to be aware of if you're thinking of using 4G. Thanks again guys - good look for the future!

We’ve eaten here twice this stay and have to say that the food is some of the best we’ve had on our many trips to Goa. Beautiful setting too on the quieter Northern end of Agonda Beach. Prices very reasonable too !!
