The location of this resort is amazing, right in front of the beach. There's one sided glass in the room which lets you have beach view from inside the room with doors closed. The restaurant is awesome too, with fast service and tasty food. The only thing which I found a little upsetting was cleanliness. The rooms could be some more cleaner.
We arrived at nearly midnight due to missing two flights due to fog preventing our take off in Varanasi, arranged driver picked us up at the airport and when we arrived there were guys waiting to take our bags and show us to our hut which we could tell was on the beach by the sand (obviously) and the sound of the sea. We were tired after 17 hours of travelling but guys came up with a couple of cold beers for us to unwind on the balcony. A very nice start. Woke up in the morning, looked out of the window and...WOW! Pristine beach with fishing boats, palm trees etc. Amazing. It just got better, the breakfast was stunning in the restaurant right on the beach, the staff are really friendly and attentive without being in your face. The menu is phenomenal, every dish cooked to order and exceeds every expectation especially the tandoori Kingfish and Red Snapper we had one night. Breads are amazing as are all the accompaniments. Even the wine was really nice, much better than pricey hotels we'd stayed in earlier in the trip. The room was basic but spotless, we even had a palm tree growing up through our bathroom! The location is perfect , about 300m from a great yoga shala right on the beach, 10m walk to the ATM, loads of massage places, everything, even the shop people aren't pushy and have a great sense of humour, great barber too actually on Madhu property. Finally the boss Shekhar, chats to everyone and know their names, really interesting bloke and very friendly. We'll be back.…
The beautiful Agonda beach lies just steps from these lovely beach huts. They are larger than most beach huts so you won’t feel cramped and are spotless and clean. The staff are super welcoming and the attached bar/restaurant does a lovely breakfast and fantastic tandoori food. Go for a few days or several weeks, you won’t regret it
18 years in the business Madhu knows what it does best, it's stayed small with only a handful of bungalows on the beach and two set back. We visited Christmas Week and being peak season they had only one room available, the back hut with only brick wall views, but having just bought a big decorated throw for the beach we draped it over the permanent clothes line on our porch and had a very private place to stay. The manager made a point of coming over and saying hello, aside from the greeting in the morning the rest of the staff were less engaging but still with excellent service. But this comment isn't a negative, with the bar being quiet of music and the staff staying in the background meant everyone could find their own space to chill out there. The restaurant was busy every night the sign of good food and speedy service, I had the veg sizzler which was packed with flavour and piled high. Rooms were clean, the bed spacious, the beach front idyllic in the best spot on the beach, downsides the beach loungers were in need of a patch up and one of our towels needed a wash with a musty smell, but that really is being picky. A lovely stay in Agonda!…
My husband and I stayed here end of season April 2018 for seven nights, we had a hut right on the beach with fan and open air bathroom (the resort may have been called Madhu Coconut Beach Huts last season). The hut itself was spacious with big comfortable bed and mosquito net (we took this off after second night, mossies were thankfully rare), lockable cabinet and bedside tables. There were plenty of plug sockets, and a good fan above the bed. The bathroom was large being exposed to the outside it was nice to have the swaying palms above us when showering! A few bugs were attracted during the night with the light on but nothing serious. The windows to the hut were reflective so no one could see in during the day, though having them wide open provided a blissful breeze – this did disappear in the evening. The room was cleaned thoroughly every third day, with bedding and towel change etc, and the outside was swept/bins emptied daily and water on step replaced. We had three regular canine visitors, which were well behaved and if told to leave, they would, none tried to get into the room but would curl up on the chairs outside if we didn’t take the padding off. In addition to our own balcony facing the beach there were sun beds provided on the beach itself. The sea could be heard day and night with or without windows open, and on one night we were lucky enough that we were able to join the nearby turtle hatchery in releasing 48 hatchling Olive Ridley turtles! The restaurant was fantastic, we had our best vindaloo there, the biryani and naan breads were delicious, due to being end of season it closed for our last four days, otherwise we might not have eaten anywhere else! Staff were courteous and professional and were happy to help, they and the location of the huts created a calm and quiet atmosphere which we could only relax in. The location in Agonda is perfect, with restaurants, shops and ATM within 10 minutes walking distance, laundry, massage and beer shops (go to Sita’s Wine) also very close by. Madhu Beach Huts is a well priced (bargain for the location), well maintained little piece of paradise.…
We originally planned on staying at Madhu’s beach-front hut for a week but extended our stay to two weeks. The huts are simple, just the way I liked them in Asia, with towels, cleaned every other day. The bed is large and very comfortable. The room has a fan and includes a lockable cabinet. This is a very quite area of Agonda. The staff and owner are super friendly and professional. The view from the hut’s porch is simply breathtaking!
