I booked it through booking.com thought its part of Kakheti but NO, it took us an hour to reach an area that I don't even know it's name from Telavi (80km), then we took 4x4 car to go to Omalo, the trip should take 4 hours in the mountains OFF-ROAD, it took us 10 hours!!!! First we got a flat tyre and had to stop to replace it, then it started raining so we had to wait for 2 hrs till road drys cause it's dangerous, we waited in a hut of the road security thing (I think it belongs to the Georgian army) since this area is close to Chechnya boarders and I'm an Arabic guy I could see the guys wanted to kill me and through me in the woods but thankfully I had my Ukranian female friend who told them that I was there for tourism only, anyways we started moving again at night then we found a Semi-truck blocking the way, the truck driver decided that he wanted to "turn around" and take another road but he couldn't because the road was too narrow so he stopped literally perpendicular to the road because if he had moved 1 more inch the truck would've flipped and fell off the mountain, and there were it started raining again, so we can't continue and we can't go back and we can't stay where we are because rain might bring rocks and hit our car, our 4x4 driver suggested that we take our pack-bags (approx 20kgs) and walk 2 km in the rain to reach one of his friends house to spend the night!! Finally we decided to help the truck driver and put him back on the right direction so we can continue on our way. The way back from Omalo to "civilization " took 4.5 hrs, so if you decided to go there be ready for approx 5 hrs of real bumpy off-road trip. The hotel itself is nice, new wooden building, new beds. NO ELECTRICITY. But spectacular area and view, and very friendly and helpful staff.

We spent a weekend on this hotel and was amazing days. .. the guest house located 3 km far away from Omalo, a quite place with a great view, around is just a forest. Rooms are clean and you'll have basic comfort wich is suitable for this kind of place to have a rest and relax after tiring day... this is a budget gest house wich offers very tasted food too. Levan who is an owner too is very great guy, he took us by car and served us during our visit. I can advise every one this guest house where you can feel soul of TUSHETI.
