Martha and I live in the Southwest United States and stayed at Twin Lodge in January of 2020 We were very pleased with our choice. This ecolodge has a garden atmosphere. Our room was clean and comfortable. Puerto Ayora is not within walking distance but the staff will arrange for a taxi. Transportation to and from the airport is also readily available.
The assistant manager, George, is fluent in English and studied in the USA. He and the staff were very friendly. When we indicated we would enjoy talking with him we had a long and interesting conversation. Other staff spoke lesser levels of English but communication was no problem.
Because the lodge produces its own ingredients for the restaurant, the food was tasty, fresh and served in a lovely covered patio. We were not restricted to a menu. The chef simply asked what we would like to eat and prepared whatever dish we asked for. Similarly, the rest of the staff was anxious to do whatever they could to make our stay enjoyable. They were not intrusive but rather easily available. The staff was very proud of their sustainable farming practices and gave us a nice tour.
There are places closer to Puerto Ayora in urban settings but we preferred the homey environment and natural setting that Twin Lodge provided.

Dear Martha, reading your commentaries makes us so happy. We are very grateful for choose our services too. As I noticed you when I welcome you in our hotel, the Eco-Hotel Twin Lodge Galápagos is design to the guests who seeks intimate contact with the luscious nature. It is also my pleasure to remind that the Hotel looks to preserve the Galápagos Islands environment to the future generations. It is a perfect place in order to rest in the comfortable and cozy suites and rooms after the island’s excursions surrounded by the lush tropical mist forest of the Santa Cruz Island and by the variety of organic gardens. Our guests relish outstanding service, so our staff looks to create memorable moments on the travelers journey to the last paradise. I am appreciated that you liked our exquisite menu which is prepared with fresh ingredients from our gardens. I hope your couple John Miller and all family are being blessed. I and all staff of the Hotel are sending to you kindest hug. Jorge (George) Caisabanda

This is an authentic stay in the Galapagos upcountry that emphasizes simplicity, nature, and natural resources. Surrounded in a lush green tropical setting while still being only 15 minutes away from town by car, you’ll enjoy the peace and tranquility of nature with easy access to everything. The staff does everything to ensure that you enjoy your visit with their focus on hospitality. Rooms are spacious and comfortable but do not seek out luxury here. Instead you connect to what’s important while enjoying the freshest breakfast breads, eggs, fruits, juices, and coffee (most grown onsite). We also had them arrange our tours and other meals and it was a fantastic experience knowing that everything was taken care for you. Expect authentic, spacious, and rustic accommodations that allow you to enjoy nature itself.

The service is excellent, José and Mari are super friendly. The breakfasts are rich and sufficient and there is a permanent coffee, tea and water station. The rooms are comfortable. I recommend the rooms furthest from the road if you are looking for less noise and the rooms closest to the road if you are looking for larger rooms. José organizes the taxis and it is very easy to get to town. Something to improve would be to get rid of the rooster and chickens (so that they do not bother with their noise since if you are looking for silence and choose this remote hotel you hope not to wake up so early in the morning).

Booked for 2 nights and 3 days . Owner was responsive over emails and chat . They try to upswell a lot of tours and just ignore .
Pros
Place is out of the city 6 miles , so silent
Breakfast ok
Cons
All activities happen in the town which is 6 miles away. So prepare to shell out 5 bucks each way per one way trip
No places to eat near this hotel , this is the only building
We bought 2 tours and both turned out disastrous. They don’t coordinate with actual guides and show different brochures than the actual trip . I can call it cheating without hesitation. Find trips in town
Work out with cabs directly as the cabs called by hotel are sleazy and upsell and demand more than agreed upon
There are 100s in puerto ayora and pick one instead of spending time and money here

The Twin hotel is a paradise of nature and peace. It is surrounded by an oasis of vegetation that emanates a pleasant perfume at night and early in the morning. But without a doubt, the best of all is the attention provided by Mr. José and his family. Thank you very much for this wonderful experience.

My dear Discover584529, it is an immense happiness to hear from you and how pleased you are in our service. Taking advantage of the moment, I allow myself to reiterate the fundamentals of the Twin Lodge Galapagos ecological hotel: a self-sustaining Lodge, friendly with nature, that seeks to preserve the flora and fauna of the Galapagos Islands for future generations. It is an ideal space for visitors like you who seek peace, tranquility and comfort after the excursion to the islands, surrounded by a subtropical volcanic cloud forest. Our warm staff tries to create unforgettable moments during your trip to the last paradise. A big hug for everyone Jose Ordoñez

I had high hopes for the Twin Lodge due to all of the rave reviews here on Trip Advisor. What a disappointment! The ratings are completely off on this one. While the property is pretty and well landscaped and the room acceptable, I cannot recommend this place. I would have left after 1 day if I hadn't paid for the entire 8 nights in advance.
Here are the problems:
1. The owner leaves the property in the hands of a 21 year old kid who serves as the cook, maintenance man, and manager. Although this kid tries, this job is way to big for him.
2. Eating a meal here other than breakfast (which is basic but OK if the bread isn't stale) is problematic. Usually no lights are on in the kitchen and the dining room is mostly empty and dark at night, After noticing that no one was in the kitchen and waiting a half hour the first day for a meal that I ordered several hours earlier, I gave up and asked for fruit for dinner or ate in town. You know the old saying, if nothing is cooking in the kitchen, nothing is cooking! You need to add $10 @ day to your hotel costs because the hotel is 15 minutes from town and you basically have to go into town in order to eat.
3. When I asked for a receipt for a tour I booked, I was told they don't give them. After an unpleasant conversation with the owner about how unprofessional it is to take my money and not give me a receipt and he finally gave me one.
4. They seemed to have misplaced my key and then it turned out that my room was unlocked. So someone had been in there. I had been in the room since it had been cleaned earlier that day and locked the room. When I confronted the manager on this and told him that I didn't like the fact that my room was unlocked he said, it was safe and not to worry about it. Fortunately, nothing seemed amiss but it still created a complete lack of trust.
5. On the afternoon I returned from a tour booked by the hotel, the first thing the kid in charge said to me was not, "How was it? Did you enjoy the tour?" but " You need to pay $160 for Friday's tour".
6. Although they say they take credit cards, there is always an excuse not to take them. On the last day, it was “the machine was broken”. Although it appeared that it was because the owner didn’t want to come by to do the transaction.
One day there was no water in the room. I asked for a taxi at a certain time to get to town for a tour and it was 20 minutes late. The wifi was iffy.
All in all, this was not a pleasant hotel experience. Do yourself a favor. Stay anywhere but here.

Dear Taosharon, thank you very much for agreeing to Twin Lodge Galapagos, for us a very interesting trip, and our best service for a personalized service, for all our clients, we are here to serve you, with the best prices with the discounts, since the business is family, we are close to all that we agree that we are in a place and the surroundings, we are 10 minutes from Puerto Ayora in the car an hour walking from the Lodge to Puerto Ayora, We can not stop wanting to reach an agency that allow us a visit, to help us pay in cash, our staff works by weekly shifts, so the child who attended was kindly on duty, in Galápagos we have What's new? What to do? You swim during your stay.

Our stay in "Twin Eco Suites Galapagos" was a real pleasure. The hotel is small and in the countryside at approx 1 km from the center of the Bellavista village. The rooms are simple but spacious, clean, and surrounded by magnificent vegetation and garden. Of course the downside of this quiet and relax location is that you are at approx 7 km from Puerto Ayora, but the owners will call a taxi anytime you need it (and you will be charged the true cost of the ride, not the tourist one), or they will lend you some bicycles for free (It is easy to ride downhill to Puerto Ayora. To return uphill to the hotel you can take a taxi, all taxis are pick-ups so they can take your bicycle on their platform).
It is owned and run by a family. They are really nice persons who will do anything to accomodate your stay and help you. They speak only spanish but if you don't you will still be able to discuss with them in front of their computer using Google translator.
You can have a lunch or diner at the hotel. Hot water is supplied (sometimes you might need to wait a few minutes to get it). One thing to mention is the need to close the windows at night to avoid being woken up at 5:30 am by the nearby rooster !

The hotel has a very pleasant familiar atmosphere and the service is excellent. The owners are very professional and very kind, they helped in everything we needed. The cook is amazind and her meals tasted better than some of the restaurants we tried in Puerto Ayora. The ecosuites, though quite simple, are confortable and very well taken care of. The only thing to be aware of is the location. As it is not very close to Puerto Ayora, it is necessary to take a taxi (5 to 10 minutes) to go to town. But it is the perfect place to rest and relax!
