Like a previous reviewer before me (from whom I stole the title of this review) I don't often do online reviews (hence the need to purloin a title). However, I was moved to review by the amazing service at the Chequit. My wife and I decided to celebrate our first anniversary on Shelter Island and were blown away by the...

We stayed at the Chequit for a wedding and had a really exceptional experience. Before our arrival, I traded emails with Jason from the front desk several times because I have a bunch of food allergies and was concerned about breakfast. He could not have been more accommodating and sweet about it. The chef made me special gluten free muffins...

When we first arrived at the hotel it was a cold and nasty day and my wife and I were a bit disappointed at the small room we were given. Then we were disappointed at the very expensive dinner at the Vine Street Cafe so our first day was not great. Then everything changed! The next morning I got up...

Hi Matt! Thank you so much for the glowing review! We are so happy to hear you and your wife had such a wonderful experience and we hope she is feeling better! Our breakfast is truly special and we take great pride in preparing the menu each morning with fresh, local ingredients. Relaxing on the porch while enjoying the view...

I'm not a big review person, but I was incredibly impressed by the attentiveness and service at The Chequit. Jenni and Jason were nothing short of awesome! I know it's not a direct apples to apples comparison, but The Chequit was arguably better from an 'experience' perspective than any Four Season's / St. Regis I've stayed at around the world...

My husband and I were pleasantly surprised by The Chequit and enjoyed our stay thoroughly. In fact, we cannot wait to return for another visit and will not stay anywhere else again for our visits out to the area. We were a little nervous as we had always stayed at a classic B & B. The Chequit owns the quaint...

From the professional greeting we received when we checked in until we checked out, we had such an incredible stay. Every person who worked there could not be more accommodating and helpful. Clearly, they were schooled in providing top notch customer service. Breakfast was included both mornings and was delicious. The rooms are beautiful and really nicely appointed. Our room...

I gave this weekend away together as a Christmas gift to my boyfriend, and as he put it after our stay, I "hit it out of the park." The hotel itself is beyond charming, with simple modern decor. The staff is really helpful and attentive. The food at Red Maple leaned towards comfort food, but was generally yummy and the...

On a whim, I recently planned a winter weekend trip out to Shelter Island and the North Fork. I booked a room at the Chequit having seen the hotel on a previous visit.
