We stumbled on over this hotel bay accident but had a great experience. We were a group of 6, booked one day in advance and requested some assistance (online) for organising a safari trip. Michelle, the owner arranged everything and organised an amazing dinner upon our return. The hotel has a great ambiance, lovely scenery and the personnel is super...

I was lucky enough to be recommended this hotel by a friend that was also doing research in the area. I stayed in their Lynn Suite for 5 months while I did my work over there. I stayed at many hotels in Tanzania during those 5 months when my work required me to go to another city, but I felt...

The New Acropol has, again, excellent food. Within 4x its price, I am not aware of any better option in Morogoro. The style has a colonial time safari feel. The rooms are lower standard than the food, but within the price level, Michelle has no competition.

Michelle is the best. This hotel is like something out of my imagination and it even looks remarkably like my own home in Kenya. Except it's an amazing, quirky, great value, friendly, hotel-cum-menagerie with wonderful staff and gorgeous rooms and full of beautiful antiques and animals and humans. I cannot say how much I love this place and I'm going...

I actually got lost and accidentally landed in this place. This Lodge (not a hotel) has an old world charm about it. The only sad thing is- it is even sadly maintained. Very Poor upkeep. This can be a gold mine if managed well. But I like the place for stop overs and snacks- and I will keep returning, hoping...

I have stayed at the Acropol and thrived for 10 days, this will be the place I call home in Morogoro from now on. We drove past the hotel many times and now really regret the fact I did not find the exterior appealing. True, it is a very old building but that is part of the charm. The staff...

Good food and coffee (they are not serving Africafe!!:) ) Very central location. Good value for money. WC and shower just above the minimum standard necessary - you will not get much better at any of the in town alternatives anyway. Very pragmatic manager/owner..easygoing/flexible. Nice garden. If you want a higher standard, forget the local competition and drive 15 minutes...

Really quirky hotel with very nice, comfy rooms. Food was of a good standard for Tanzania. We had a good breakfast and a tasty dinner of steak in red wine sauce and pork chops in mustard sauce.

I keep coming back for more like a druggie looking for her next hit! While I understand that this is not everyone's cup of tea (one person described it as a menagerie), Michelle the owner is a delight. She goes the extra mile to provide those little touches that personalise her guests' experience e.g. a couple who were celebrating their...
