Beautiful house set in a beautiful location. Two very friendly hosts, who know how to cook a belting breakfast. The garden with its river at the end is breathtaking, just a shame we were there in March, as we weren't brave enough to sit outside. Ashford village is a 5 minute walk, with two nice pubs selling lovely hearty food,...

Thank you Gilly and John for a wonderful stay! We absolutely loved it. Fabulous hospitality, warm welcome, beautiful room, stunning location, very friendly and delicious breakfast. I would highly recommend River Cottage, and would love to stay again one day.

I found this lovely place on Trip Advisor and was sold on the great reviews. They were right. The owners really have gone the extra mile - the decor, the extras in the rooms, the information about where to eat and visit, and the breakfast was amazing. All home cooked - even the jams. I'm really picky when it comes...

We've just returned from a lovely, relaxing weekend staying at River Cottage. Everything was perfect from the wonderful home cooked breakfast to the attention to every detail in the very pretty, comfortable bedrooms. We were offered a warm welcome by the very friendly owners, who couldn't do enough to make our stay enjoyable. Can't wait to return next summer and...

Cosy and comfortable with touches that make it more than just another B&B. It has a little bit of a feel of "do it yourself" because the owners are not always around and you have to fit in with their hours to arrive - not always convenient if you are driving from far, but once there all runs quite smoothly....

This is a beautifully appointed b&b. Greeted by the owners you will instantly feel relaxed and glad you booked in here. The room was gorgeous and our ensuite immaculate. You will feel like you are the first person to ever step in there. So clean! Breakfast is a treat of fresh local produce cooked to perfection. Nothing I could say...

Had a two night stay here and were not disappointed! River cottage meets all the standards you would expect of a high end bed and breakfast. There is a private entrance for guests and the rooms are beautifully decorated and well appointed. The owners Gill and John are very welcoming and good hosts at breakfast where the quality of the...

Just had 2 nights at the River Cottage and it was just perfect! It is furnished impeccably, spotlessly clean and soooo homely and instantly relaxing. Would definitely recommend this, the breakfast was amazing too with all locally sourced produce and cooked to perfection by Gilly! I don't normally write reviews, however, this short stay really did exceed all my expectations...

This was a surprise break for my 60th birthday. We were greeted by Gill and John who are so friendly, Gill's breckies unreal. Our room was very comfortable, everything just spot on, the attention to detail brilliant! The garden was lovely, we sat by the river late afternoons reading. John told us of a 6 mile walk from the B+B...

This is arguably better than a 5 star hotel. Stay here for a wedding nearby. The BB is the best homely place I have ever stayed- and I have travelled the world. The couple who run it are very friendly and very accommodating. I would high recommend this place. Hope to visit you in the future
