Me and my partner spent one night here, it was chosen due to location direct access onto the Tissington trail and price. We weren't disappointed, staff greeted us warmly and gave us useful information about the trail. Entrance hall is beautifully decorated. Yes there are parts that need updating but for the price what do you expect. Ideal location for...

Very good location for the Tissington Trail and for Dovedale. The hotel itself was clean and comfortable and the staff were were friendly and helpful. Selection for breakfast was also very good. Recommended for a stay in this area.

We called in from the Tissington Trail cycle route. Waited, waited and waited. Just about to leave when a member of staff entered the room. A female who didn't even acknowledge we were there! I don't tolerate ignorance so left. We were about to enquire about accommodation so unfortunately I cannot review how good it is? However, based on our...

Stood waiting for service for 10 minutes or more, No other person was waiting to be served, a lady looked at us twice and walked away looking down her nose at us, I had wondered why such a nice place only had 2 people eating there at the time of our visit. A very poor experience indeed, and we will...

My review will be based on the price I paid, bearing in mind it was £78 for a double room including breakfast for two nights, many things can be overlooked, but will still be mentioned for the sticklers out there. When arriving, the receptionist was borderline asleep, not rude, not overly polite but was clear enough in explaining where the...

Booked the week before . A bit concerned due to previous reviews however we found a small welcoming hotel in lovely grounds in an ideal location to visit Buxton Bakewell and Chatsworth house . Whilst the corridors are in need of updating and modernisation the lounge , bar , dining rooms and bedroom were modern , cosy and relaxed ....

Hotel is very clean and comfortable. Loft room 23 massive we loved it. Recommend that you eat elsewhere though the evening meals are terrible for value and quality. Seemed to mostly come from the freezer. Would stay again though as very clean friendly and homely.

We were bought a wowcher for Christmas and rang in May to book our stay. Everything was fine until I mentioned our Wowcher Voucher and was told immediately 'We are full' When I questioned this I was told I had had my voucher since Christmas I should have booked by January and now I'm too late and didn't I realise...
