We were so delighted that we chose Griesemount House as our accommodation after attending a wedding closeby. We stayed in the large bedroom with four poster bed and large ensuite. The views, the decor, the ambiance, the warm, personal service, were all really wonderful! There was so much to see in the house, every ornament, painting, rug had a story...

Gosh, what a wonderful review and lovely for us that you noticed all the "little extra's". I think that Table Setting is all part of getting breakfast and if one is lucky enough to have nice things than it's fun to use them rather than leaving them in a cupboard somewhere! Yes, this house is steeped in history and somehow...

This house is in a time zone so far from today's fast world. We love old houses with steeped history and this big old house has plenty real history. This is an experience we can cherish in our fond memories. We attended a wedding in Rathsallagh House (15 mins by car once you know the way) but stayed in Griesemount...

Thank you very much for writing your review of Griesemount and loved what you had to say about our house, so lovely for us when guests appreciate it. You are right, it's much easier to get to Griesemount when it's light, especially if you are unfamliar with the local roads and I'm sorry you had trouble. I always give our...

We were looking for a place to come back to after a wedding, the wedding venue suggested Griesemount. We were expecting something functional but what we found was remarkable. Griesemount was built in 1817 by the Shakleton family (of South Pole fame). Although it is very close to main roads and to Naas, when you drive up the driveway you...

Well, what can we say? We stayed at Griesemount as we were guests at a wedding in Rathsallagh. For the four of us (two sisters of the bridegroom and their other halves) the stay at GH was a major highlght. The house is, as so many others said, an absolute gem, with so many interesting features/furniture/contents - and breakfast made...

Griesemount is a charming Georgian house in a remote area near the village of Ballytore in County Kildare. The owners, Robert and Carolyn Ashe are personable and very welcoming and of course very knowledgeable about both the house and the area. They have preserved the character of the building very well, no mean feat in this day and age. The...

Stayed with a few friends at Griesemount after traveling to Ireland from United States. The accommodations were terrific, cozy, convenient and beautiful, but the highest praise goes to Carolyn the house keeper. Carolyn met us at the front door, showed us the house and spoke briefly about the area. She was always available for an advice, great breakfast or even...

Thank you Anton for that great review. On our part we just loved having you and your friends here, It's fun when a group of friends stay for a wedding at Rathsallagh, it makes for a real house party, especially as you stayed the weekend. I have been a regular guest at Griesemount House over a period of five years and I cannot recommend the house highly enough. Carolyn and Robert are amazing hosts - warm, welcoming and friendly. We arrived at Griesemount after a long journey from West cork with two tired young children. We received a very warm welcome from Carolyn and Robert. We had a wonderful evening with welcome drinks in the drawing room and a simple and very tasty supper with our host and hostess. Then we had a blissful night's sleep in our huge canopied bed. A lovely early morning walk followed by a delicious breakfast completed this idyllic interlude.
