Myself Aneesh, I have to say this was my best holiday until now in my life because it was an amazing experience in Hills & Hues. The resort is situated in a serene place and the location is fantastic, I had a feeling that I was staying in a dense forest with a mountain view.

We had a nice welcoming from the reception and offered us an immunity boosting Chukku kappy which I never have as a welcome drink, it was a good idea to give this drink during this covid situation.

The room which they gave to us was really good, the room has a living room, bedroom, and a beautiful open balcony which is facing the mountain and tamilnadu region too because this resort is situated in Kerala tamilnadu border, the room was neat and tidy with modern amenities, the real beauty of the room was the view from the bed through the glass wall.

The restaurant service was simply nice, they have a beautiful mountain view from the restaurant and the attraction of their restaurant is the open dining area, that makes the difference, the food was excellent, they made our tasty food, during our dinner the chef came to the table and asked about the food, it feels we are in a home away from home,

And the best part of the resort is their swimming pool, it is situated in a proper place and it is an infinity pool.

They have made this resort in a beautiful location and the architecture itself so beautiful, they used stones, wood etc in the room that makes a big difference in the beauty of the room.

And the best part of the resort is their staff, they are fantastic and ready to help us at any time and with anything, I appreciate the team, especially Mr Vineeth. And Special thanks to Mr Ajins who made my booking and convinced me to stay in the hills & hues, from the very beginning itself he assured me that I never disappointed once I am in the resort.

I will come back to this paradise and I will recommend others to this beautiful hotel, I am sure you never disappointed.

Hills and hues resort is a very serene place to spend your holiday. The location of the resort itself is mentionworth since it stands at a hill, providing a pristine relaxing environment to stay away from the hassles of daily life. The property is well kempt and is cleaned and tidied impeccably.

The front office staff was very polite and supportive; they made us feel home in a matter of seconds. The flight of stairs leading up to room has breathtaking views of picturesque frames on sides.

The rooms were cleaned spotlessly and the view from there was quite breathtaking. The artefacts with which the room was decorated resembled French vintage architecture. The room offered stunning views of snow clad mountains in the dawn and dusk and magnificent greenery once the sun is up. The room service was excellent. The food, which we had made to serve in room was so delicious and ambrosial and was quite satisfying to our taste buds.

The stay was nothing short of heavenly. The resort is engrossed with photogenic frames of scenic beauty. The Infinity Pool is worth commendable. The view from its apex was exotic. Not many offer kids pool, but we were blessed to have one of reasonable depth for which we have felt so thankful. The rooftop view point offers a wide shot of underlying valley which makes the world stop for a while.

The restaurant is very appealing and is blessed with lush green flora. The view from restaurant too is superb. The menu offered great varieties, and the food was yummy. The staff of the restaurent was most cordial.

Inshort, this was one of the best stays we had in recent years. Being avid travellers, we are used to spending time in many places of this kind and undoubtedly ," Hills and hues "is the best of all we have visited and what more to say we are looking forward to our next visit!

In the Tamil Nadu-Kerala border, after crossing Kumily mettu, you will find Hills & Hues perched on top of a cliff overlooking the Kumily Valley and Periyar lake on the other side. Finding this Property isn't easy as there are no clear signages and never rely on Google Maps to reach this place! When you get off the Main Road, you will find your car going downhill and then gradually climbing until you reach the steep slope of the Resort's parking lot! You will be surprised for sure! Even the climb from the parking lot to the Reception was a task for aged Parents. But, it is worth all the effort as we were to find out. There are certain signs that reassure your choice of Property as seen in pics against the real thing. The garden landscaping, cobbled stone path leading to the reception, the small Christmas hut decoration, reception desk, everything spells a subtle class. After the welcome drink & formalities, we are ushered into our room which is a three storeyed building overlooking a dense canopy of trees. The wooden deck outside the room allows access to the endless sight of green cover and invites the mist to come into the rooms. This is superb design of the rooms, space & making use of the tough landscape to its best advantage. There are other rooms too at the lower level, which is connected by a beautiful wooden walkway. The restaurant serves all meals, with breakfast complimentary. The restaurant has seating on the sides overlooking the hills & valleys and is your best spot for enjoying a delectable spread of food - be it breakfast or lunch. The restaurant & Resort staff are locals and very prompt in attending to service requests. Throughout our stay, the Staff followed all safety protocols and wore masks, maintained distance & attended when called. You could stroll around the Property, although small and has no long trails, yet interesting use of the available real estate. There is a bonfire organized in the night before dinner which is again a very nicely done space. The Infinity Pool is the BIG surprise, while we didn't venture, it gives an amazing view of the valley is a very well executed design blending into the backdrop.

The rooms are spic & span, furnished with high quality linen and superb wooden furniture. The toilets are clean, with separate dry and wet areas, equipped with geysers for a hot shower. Curl in your bed with a book or enjoy a hot cuppa with snacks in the deck.

The perfect place to Do nothing & enjoy everything!

As the name denotes resort is perched at the top of the hill, and provides great view of picturesque Hills, Valleys and Periyar lake covered with the mist and fog. Treasures are always hidden, you have to hunt for it, have to go through adventurous hurdles to reach the treasure and get it. Sorry for the inconvenience of your parents. Have informed the concerned about the Google Map, but in the Hills, it is bit difficult, we are looking into have some signages in the main places. We stayed at Hills and Hues for one day and one night and had a splendid time.
The vistas in the photos are even more breathtaking in person. You'd be hard pressed to find anywhere in the hotel that doesn't have a sweeping panorama of the sleepy town below.
Rooms are immaculate, adhering closely to a floral aesthetic that remains tasteful throughout, never crossing into the realm of kitsch. They’re also surprisingly quiet, except in the mornings when chirps, rustles, twitters, and general woodland bustle finds its way in. Bathrooms are pristine and well kept.
The view from the balcony in our room is worth the price of admission all on its own. The mist and drizzle cement the feeling of fairy tale magic the hotel works to build.
The flowers and trees in the estate are spell binding. Streaks and slashes of brilliant crimson and vivid blues populate the lush greenery around the walkways and cottages. The book on horticulture in the reception wasn’t just window-dressing, because the hotel very clearly lives up to the ‘Hues’ part of its name.
The infinity pool offers a gorgeous view of the mountains, although the biting cold of Thekkady evenings means swimming is more suited to afternoons.
The staff are fantastic. We were given a warm welcome at the reception by Roshan. We were then taken to our rooms by Prakash, who ensured our stay stayed free of hiccups and showed us around the property while also telling us about the hotel’s location and its rooms. Sendhil at the restaurant must be singled out for praise. More than simply being a charming host, he never failed to look after our every need, while also engaging us in deep conversation. He deserves special mention both for his hospitality and for his pointers on food and the town of Thekkady.
The food at the restaurant is well worth a try. Chef Ramachandran did a stellar job at breakfast, with nearly every dish of his worth trying. Breakfast itself was wonderful, the restaurant offering a mesmerizing view of the Thekkady landscape. Anto, the manager at breakfast, was both efficient and affable. The entire staff at the restaurant were responsive and quick. All of this to say, room service pales in comparison.

Our two main gripes in ascending order of nitpicky-ness are:
The stairs can get slippery especially when it rains, and one is prone to falls so it's best to tread with caution.
Hot water began to run out by the third or fourth shower.

I got to know about hills n hues through a post on insta. The cottage was situated on a cliff and it’s so beautiful to watch from the top. We stayed in a cottage and it was having such a homely feel. We reached at 1 am and they let us go directly to the cottage instead of checking in The food was amazing and the staff, Mr Satish helped in arranging a happy anniversary room decoration and candle light dinner by the pool. My husband was super happy and impressed. Every staff that we met was really sweet and greeted us with a smile and was so polite. I would choose cottage over the villa. Overall the location, stay , food and staffs I would give 5star.

Cons : For those who reach late after 10 pm please make sure you carry food cuz the restaurant functions only till 10pm. and the hotels in thekkady close really early. The staffs should ensure that there should be fruits available in the room Incase of emergency. My husband was super hungry when we reached and there was no option for food.
Location is in a very interior place and you need to take a small car for better transportation.
There should be Hills n Hues location boards arranged as well. Don’t trust Google to take you there. She would get confused lol.

But worth a stay there. Thank you guys !!!!

We got to Hills and Hues a lot later than the check-in time. By the time, strong rains receded to a light drizzle. The atmosphere was misty and a bit colder than the average weather in Kochi.

Welcomed by the Super-host Nimisha we were greeted by herbal drinks and flowers. We were taken to the room. It was shielded by a massive door which we had the key to. The door led to a long balcony running the length of the room, separated by a glass wall. Our room had a jacuzzi which cured us free from the journey’s tiredness and heled us relax. The entire area being private allowed us to enjoy the view while relaxing in the jacuzzi.

Morning woke us up with spectacular views of the hill side and the fog from the bed. Glide and Nimisha got us into the morning’s nature walk activity they had organized. After a 2km easy nature hike we got back in less than an hour. Breakfast from the restaurant was spectacular with options for and English breakfast and south Indian cuisine as well. JoJo, a staff from their kitchen was incredibly helpful with nearby spots to visit while we were having breakfast. After the walk and the ample breakfast. The room and bed were too comfy for us to leave till noon. After a heavy lunch we explored the resort more played some indoor games and paid a visit to the cliff hugging infinity pool.

The whole resort gave us a feel of being somewhere outside the country. There were glimpses of Santorini everywhere in here.

We chose the Manor Hill room (also known as Double Room in most booking sites) which is the best available in the resort. We would be coming back here if possible, during the winters to see this place in its full form.

In one word experience of this resort was excellent.

Check in 23rd Feb

Check Out 26th Feb

Location:
Most probably best located resort in Thekkady/Kumily when views are concerned, situated on top of mountain with great views of valley from all rooms. Its away from crowd and husstle bustle. If someone wants to be close to nature then this is the place, not for those who wants to stay near market or wants to walk to market or restaurant in evening.

Booking/Check in process
Booked through a third party OTA,check in at hotel was smooth,Ms Nimisha was welcomed us and did the check in ,later she showed us the property and the room. Throughout our stay Nimisha and her colleague Mr Vinith were very attentive and regularly taking our feedback about stay.

Property:
It's a Mediterranean/Greece themed restaurant so at one point you start thinking that you are not in Kerala but somewhere in Greece.Rooms are well kept, clean, decent in size and with good views of valley.
The property is not big with just 15 rooms but it's managed very professionally, neat and clean .
The main USP of the property is the infinity pool with great views.
The whole property is full of instaworthy photo spots, whole day can be spent at property for photos.

Restaurant:
Restaurant is also a Greek themed one with some outside seating arrangement to enjoy the food with views. Among all parameters restaurant is the only one which little bit disappointed us.
Buffet breakfast is served at the restaurant, though won't say the breakfast lavish but ok,was expecting better for the tarrif we are paying.
Other than breakfast we had our all dinner at the restaurant, before visiting the resort we read in previous reviews that the food here is too expensive but it was not,the rates were reasonably priced, chef (Mr Ram if I remember correctly) was good at his work,he was a humble guy.Menu was very small, they need to add some more items.
The restaurant staff Anthin,Libin and Joel (and a female staff whose name I forgot) were very courteous and attentive, throughout our meal they were there for assist.

In house activity:
The resort offers many in house activity, one full day we just relaxed at resort enjoying those.
The infinity pool is open from morning to evening, they have a kids pool too.Indoor games are available. They offers nature walk in morning but was difficult for us to walk around the property but was difficult for us to wake up early in vacation. In evening they have tea tasting session which we attended,it was good with different type of tea. After that they have cooking lesson,we attended that also, the chef demonstrate 2 Kerala dish, one veg one non veg, wife enjoyed cooking with the chef. After that they have bonefire too.

Overall a pleasant time spent at the property, other than the property itself the staff made the stay double enjoyable.Just improve the restaurant/food,because of restaurant (minus chef/staff) I was going to give 4 star but in the end "benifit of doubt" and giving 5 out of 5.

To start with the location is unique with panoramic view of the valley located at Tamilnadu and Kerala border. We had a booking at some other resort but decided to check this place after seeing the pictures on the net, the place is exactly like in pictures. The staff is very courteous and helpful and go out of their way to make guests comfortable. The infinity pool and valley view rooms are the highlight, very serene and calm place for a relaxing holiday. Will definitely visit again.

Dear Guest, Thekkady town is just short of 4 kilometers from the resort .You can easily accessible by car.You can find few decent restaurants in town & would like to share our "Spring Time" Restaurant serves a delectable menu that celebrates the goodness of fair, healthy and natural food.Curries in our kitchen are primarily slow cooked in traditional method to retain their natural tenderness and flavour. Looking forward to serve you at Hills & Hues . Warm Regards, Balaji Ravivarman Resort Manager
