My favourite accommodation in Kerala! We found this guest house in our Lonely Planet guide, the moment we arrived we were welcomed with open arms, offered plenty of advice on the best activities and excursions to take part in at the nature reserve. After which we were shown our room by Suresh who soon after spotted a troop of monkeys in the trees! We had a perfect view of them from our balcony! The balcony’s are gorgeous and the room was spacious comfy and clean. In the morning we went down for breakfast and Suresh showed us how to make Puttu, using the fresh coconuts from his garden. Suresh is happy to help was all our questions and help us book activities like cooking classes. The location of this home stay is also perfect, it’s walking distance from the eco tourism centre. Suresh and his Homestay are very lovely! I felt so welcomed and he took care of me in a touching way. The room was very nice, clean and quiet. From the balcony I was able see squirrels, monkeys and even flying foxes. He also helped organize trips. Thank you, Suresh, for hospitality, good breakfast and awesome shower with real hot water! Not far from entrance to Periyar Tiger Reserve. Wifi works, but sometimes does not. Close to Greeen View is Aurvedic Massage Place which is pretty good. Big closed yard - we parked our bikes inside.

Green View is surrounded by beautiful gardens where you might get the chance to see monkeys! The terrace is perfect for reading or hanging out and the rooms are super clean. Breakfast was yummy and our host was super helpful with organising a boat safari and trek through the jungle. Would definitely recommend this place for a relaxing and peaceful stay!

The location of the homestay is perfect, on a quiet little street with good restaurants around, not far from downtown and very close to Periyar National Park. The owners speak very well English, are friendly, very knowledgeable and are ready to help to find an activity or a bus schedule, etc... The building and our room was is very clean with hot water and free Wifi. We had a deluxe room with a great balcony, view on top of the trees and the lovely garden. In the mornings we could hear and watch different birds and sometimes monkeys were playing around. We stayed here for 11 days, we were feeling like at home. We recommend this homestay to everybody who want to enjoy visiting the spices plantations around.

We stayed 1 night in this homestay. The room was clean but very basically equipped. Unfortunately we didn´t get the WiFi password and information about breakfast when we arrived. So we spent some time to find out where the breakfast is served. The garden is very nice and it is good to enjoy the view from the balcony.

We had a really good time at Green View Thekkadi. Our room was veru comfortable, with a nice balcony with a virw on the garden. Suresh, the owner, was very welcoming and provided us with really good advice about what to do in Thekkadi and Periyar Reserve. He also booked Katalali and Kalari Payat shows for us, which we really enjoyed. He took us with his car to take a walk to a nice view point, lent us umbrellas, helped us figure out how to get to our next destination... Last but not least, we had nice chit-chats with Suresh, always smiling ! Thanks again, we fully recommend this homestay, for the quality of the rooms as well as for the great hospitality!

The owner is a wonderfu person. He makes you feel very welcome. Take some time to have a small talk with him, you'll enjoy. We had a big and clean room with very comfortable beds and with a wonderful view to the jungle. The sounds of the birds and monkeys are everywhere. I loved this place and want to recommend it.

This was by far our favourite accommodation in India so far in our 2 month trip! Clean good size rooms, hot water, WiFi and clean bedding! Functional mosquito nets kept the bugs away and the outside balcony bit with the seating area was great for late night chats and star gazing on clear nights! What tops this off, is the owner himself, Suresh! What a great guy, and made our stay even better! He helped us book local tours with the eco-tourism group, gave us tons of information about the area and the history, and was always there with a helpful smile - even went on a late night adventure to help us out one night ;) ;) We loved it and it has set the benchmark for future homestay!!

Our single night in green view homestay was clearly the highlight of our trip. Rooms were clean and cheap and the garden very relaxing. We had a great evening with suresh who welcomed us warmly, taught us how to cook keralan breakfast, showed us around the good places to visit, made a special visit of his spice garden (for free)n he is very warm and accessible man, we had interesting conversations !
