From start to finish, this place has been the most amazing eco-friendly stays for us. We were greeted with deepam and bottu. Followed by a nature expert named, Preeti educating us of the eco-friendly features of the property that is collaboratively maintained with local tribals. It consists of natural air-ventilated cottages with thatched roofs with their own organic gardens, composting and biogas facilities. This superbly well-maintained property has rooms pleasant and comfortable and the outside the most beautiful and prized flora. Ayurveda massage facility at its best. My therapist, Sumesh who was knowledgable, caring and possessed magical hands! The entire staff made us feel at-home! We left the place more rested, healthier and more inspired to preserve the bounties of Mother Earth!…
The resort is well maintained and it has various in hiuse activities to keep you entertained throughout the day. The staff is very polite and professional. We enjoyed the comfortable stay, variety of foods and great service.
Exceptionally welcoming professional staff who always have a smile at Spice Village will make your stay memorable. Numerous activities are scheduled during the day -don’t miss the garden tour with the very knowledgable naturalist team who also give an evening slide show about the tiger reserve, the cooking demonstration each evening will give you great ideas to take home, Cultural dancing is entertaining. Standard of accommodation is excellent with cottages set out in the beautiful garden with trees identified as well as all the spice plants. Birds song is heard all day and the naturalist team will help you identify the species. Breakfast and dinner buffet has a large range of options and is very good quality provided by the talented chefs. There is a second restaurant providing a la carte and the braised mutton was our favourite. We were very pleased to see filtered water provided in recyclable bottles and is part of the green credentials which is an obvious strength of this hotel-a great example for others to follow in India and around the world to reduce plastic. Well done Spice Village. Thank you Spice Village team for making our stay so enjoyable.…
Stayed two nights at CGH Earth Spice Village and had breakfast and dinners at Tamarind Tree Restaurant with very kind staff and excellent food buffet-style. Especially loved the introduction to spices class they offer before dinner to get to know local spices and how to use them in traditional dishes. Thank you!
Excellent stay, relaxing, rejuvenating and rewarding. Attentive staff, delicious food and idyllic surroundings - what more does one need? The property is well maintained too. 1000% satisfied. Will come back for sure
My friends and I had a relaxing and rejuvenating time at spice village. We especially enjoyed the spice and cooking demonstration and the traditional dance. We started each morning with 7:30am yoga and meditation, then went to breakfast. The food was delicious - best I have had in India so far. We ended up getting massages outside the resort for a lower price, but everything in town was extremely walkable. The afternoon tea www great - they have snacks as well (we loved the fried banana). The bar was closed but we did have some fun in the game room.
It was a pleasure to return back to spice village after a couple of years but felt like I was returning back home . The staff was extremely helpful , warm and humble . The restaurants were excellent with mainly organic and healthy food . Lot of small details did not go unnoticed . Thank you so much for the special cake and the welcome note written on hand made paper . The rooms are spacious , clean and very comfortable . A special thanks to Renju the front office manager who went out of her way to ensure that our stay was comfortable . If you love nature and peace do not miss visiting Spice Village
very spacious bungalows with safe deposit , a very interesting management of the facility very eco friendly. Staff very nice and food is fine; On site very good organization of all visits to the park. Highly recommended really
Spice Village is a beautiful property in Thekkady Kerala, very close to the stunning Periyar Nature Reserve. All staff, particularly Arun in the restaurant, were professional, friendly and helpful. The ethos of Spice Village in terms of sustainability and community development along with high standard of comfort is fantastic. Highly recommend as a great place to stay in the hills of Kerala. Team it up with a stay at Brunton Boatyard in Fort Kochi and a backwaters cruise with Spice Coast cruises.
